I see a lot of negative reviews lately and I just don't understand them. I have been a Disney regular since 2009 and I can't get enough of it. I'm gonna give my park by park reason why I love disney and certain cons.

MK: my wife and I are in our early 30's and we just had our first son so we've been adult travelers since we've been going. MK lets us act like kids again. The nostalgic rides bring back a lot of fond memories of our childhood. The completely different themes of the park is great too. I love the monorail to the nicer resorts for different dining options. The wide variety of rides is great too. We also love the quick service dining options.

Epcot: we are huuuuuuuge fans of the world showcase. I love drinking around the world and the dining options. I'm lucky mommy isn't a drinker cause she can still be a responsible parent while I enjoy a few cocktails. Every time we go I take a picture wearing a stupid outfit from each country while I get saucy. Even though she doesn't drink she gets a kick out of it. I love how open and spacious future world is. The rides are mostly indoors so weather doesn't affect our good time. Epcot doesn't give us that run and gun feel like the other parks. It's usually a nice relaxing day.

DHS: we love some of the thrill rides and TSM. They need to add a few more rides. There's basically 3-4 must dos and that's about it. The QS food is dreadful. We do enjoy our time here but it's become a once a week park for us now.

AK: it's a zoo with tons of rides. We are slowly enjoying this park more and more. It was a 4 hour park for us at first but we now spend a whole day there. Other than unbearable heat in the summer it's a lot of fun. We are checking out AKL for a Sanaa dinner our next trip.

Sure disney won't blow your mind with thrill rides but it's a great place to be a kid again. Whether you're acting like a 5 year old in MK or like a 21 year old in the world showcase it has something for everyone. If you plan your trip right and try to go during non peak times as we'll it's a fantastic vacation.

You like EVERYTHING about disneyworld? They've never demagnetized your keys 6 times in a visit? Never had crappy food? All baked goods were stale last trip for us.

The majority of the people posting here love disney or are excited to go for their first visit. That doesn't mean that there aren't issues or problems that crop up.

I don't understand people not understanding that.

I understand what you're saying but that goes with every vacation. I didn't enjoy every meal and every ride but you gotta have an open mind. The point is there is something for everyone. The signatures for the most part are very good restaurants. The other dining options for the most part are priced accordingly. The buffets are priced slightly higher than our local Chinese buffets here in New York. The table service are basically Applebee's prices. I've had some great meals at some of the 1 credit options. Maybe it's just me

We love Disney too! We've had a couple bad meals, but we just mark it off our list and say not doing that again! Doesn't ruin our trips at all. We've had the occasional key not work or ticket not work - always fixed quickly. We still love the atmosphere, the resorts, the parks, the monorail, even the buses - even though they are too cold sometimes! No matter where you go in life and on vacation - stuff will happen. You have to choose to let it get to you or to just blow it off. Life's too short - we blow it off and have a blast.

Many, many of our vacations to Disney and other destinations have been during hurricanes, tropical storms, undesirable times of the year due to organized groupings, etc. It's a really big joke with our family and friends NOT to go on vacation with us because the worst will happen. We always manage to find a laugh and a smile and move on!:cool1:

I had a card not work once and it was corrected within 15 minutes and they gave us a fast pass to make up for it. I can't wait for our first trip with our son. I was gonna do DVC but we only really plan on going during non peak times and the deals you get outweigh the price you pay otherwise.

I feel the same way. I guess I just accept that Disney is open for the purpose of making money and realize that up front.

That sums it up right there. You have been a regular since 2009. I have been a DVC member since 1994 and I can see a huge decline in pretty much everything in WDW. Especially the past 10 years since Iger came on board to sink the ship. Ahoy Matey!!!!!!!!!!!

I love disney. It is where my happiest memories are all from. Yearly childhood trips, sweet 16, 18th birthday, (my wedding wasn't there.. but had disney touches) my honeymoon, you name it! Sure, there are issues. Heck, last visit I had the worst FP+ problem that IT had seen, spent numerous hours with guest relations, I was unable to use the entire system my whole length of stay and needed a ticket written up to senior IT to go into the system and *hopefully* fix by my next visit... but hey. It's Disney. No matter what happens, I'm just happy to be there. I just like to walk around and enjoy the magic. When issues come up, I have never had someone do any less than their very best to try and fix the problem. It's just a magical, happy place that is really special to me. Shoot, I have hidden mickeys in my house and most of the rooms are disney themed. The one's that aren't are in progress. I'm a Disney addict.

I feel like some people on these boards go to WDW just to complain and have a bad time. When you travel to WDW or any destination, not everything will go as planned. I tell myself and anyone coming with me that "there will be long lines, rain, annoying people, less than 5 star quality food, issues with transportation, etc..And if that's something that will bother/ruin your trip, you should reconsider coming". I never really let anything bother me while in WDW. If something goes wrong, just move onto the next thing. I can certainly see why people do get mad, it does cost ALOT of money to bring a family to WDW, but that's why I always find it important not to sweat the small stuff and just enjoy being there. Before you know it, you are back to the real world and wishing you were back with mickey

Believe me, OP, with my 2 Disney Rewards cards (2 different accounts), and with 2 Disney Cruises and 3 separate trips to WDW since Feb 2013, I LOOVVE DISNEY!!!!! You can tell by my office, you can tell because these forums are my pastime, you can tell from my FB and everyone who knows me KNOWS I'm a disney NUT. I have spent a LOTT of money (still paying off) with disney AND I can't WAAAAITTT to go again! I'm doing everything I can to pass the time until we can go next year in the fall, which is over a year away!

BUT! I'm STILL unhappy with the FP+ limits, and I STILL wish I was there tomorrow. But because it's gotten to be so complicated and mismanaged, we have learned we can fly out to DLR and ride almost all the same things plus new stuff, walk back and forth to the parks, no buses, and wear ourselves out walking less, PLUS get almost as many FPs as we want.

Therefore, I LOOOVVVVVVVVVVVVVE disney but I'm not in a hurry to get back to the World, I'm busting at the seams to get out to the Land!

I just feel like I'm in a fantasy, it's a mix of great movies, music, rides, shows, fun characters, I can wear a Tiara, I don't have to worry about R rated entertainment (especially is this the fact for their cruises vs other cruise lines) I can run around with my husband like we were teenagers again or with my sisters, like we always used to do. Disney equals family and fun but the World needs some tweaking, and thankfully there ARE other options in the world, PLUS I have never been and frankly its looking better and better every day, with more of the trip reports I see! (Not that DLR is perfect either but it might just be like the Disney park system we were used to.)

I love the Disney Parks too.

I'm losing interest in their Resorts, mainly the prices of their resorts, which I think are completely ridiculous for what you get, even with the "discounts." We usually stay deluxe and the quality has been a disappointment over the last couple of years. The quality just doesn't match up to the price.

Disney food, with a few exceptions, is horrible and overpriced IMO. Last summer, we were actually laughing at how bad it was, over and over. It all tasted the same, a lot of processed meats, loaded with salt :crazy2:

But it's still a great vacation place especially if you have kids and you like to do and see things (as opposed to sitting on the beach for a week, which I have no interest in).

WDW is more than just theme parks for me (I can get theme parks anywhere). WDW is a destination resort and that's the reason that I love it!

Once I step on the plane, I don't have a care in the world. I don't need to navigate the roads, worry about my luggage, worry about costs (I pay for everything up front including gift cards), what I'm going to do (we like to go with the flow to a certain extent), etc. Sure it's expensive, but so is everything else. (My upcoming four day trip to Cedar Point will cost about $2,500 for 3 people). I can do WDW for a similar price.

There is something special about WDW and regardless of any issues that may come up while we are there, I take it in stride because I am at WDW, and for me, that's all that matters. :thumbsup2

2009? I've been going since 1977, almost every year. I'm a mega-uber fan (we have a Disney room in our house). We have no kids...just DH and I and Disney is our only choice for vacations. We just bought into DVC last month!

That said, it ain't perfect. It's going through some serious growing pains, and there is quite a bit I'm not particularly happy or enthused about right now. I'm not wearing rose-colored glasses.

People complain about food but when is the food ever great when you go on vacation? I've been to numerous places in the carribean and the food is usually mediocre at best. Outside of Aruba I can't really think of a place where the food is great. I enjoyed a lot of good meals. Kona, ohana, la hacienda all at 1 credit restaurants

Haha- 1994, eh!!!! What are you so mad about then?????? You're not even paying today's current high price that we "sheeple" have to pay!!!! You should be tap dancing all up and down Main Street!!!! Now- I understand how the old timers can feel a bit jaded today. Since you are an old timer...I'm gonna take you way back to the Old Testament!! This is just like the priests who witnessed the grandeur of King Solomon's Temple and all it's glory and splendor but it got destroyed. When they built the second temple the priests were so disappointed but people who had never seen the first temple loved it!!!! Nothing lasts forever----things change!!!! Be grateful that you experienced Disney during it's prime.....and try to appreciate what's there now and what's to come. In 1994- those were some good times....we had Clinton----no war---pre 9/11---good strong economy and so on. Today- the world is different but some things have gotten better and there's plenty of room for improvement and hope for the future!!!! :thumbsup2

I live in CT and between CT, New England and New York City, the food up here is incredible. So call me a food snob but I find when I go to the deep south while you can find good food, it's hard to find memorable food. The only real good place I can think of in Florida I've eaten at that I would make a point to go to is Bern's Steak House in Tampa. That is incredible. When I go on vacation (Disney for example) it's the place that I go for, not the food. Just as long as it is decent I'm happy.

My DH and I love Disney. We go every year in December and we have tried to put it into words so many times when we explain to people why we go. For us, it's just the fact that we know what we are going to get. It's clean, CM's are friendly, most of the time people are happy, you get to watch fireworks and fun food and see parades and ride some fun rides. It's the atmosphere that makes it magical! I am not happy about all of the changes, but we try and make the best of it and we certainly would not let it come between us having a good time.

Disney has in the past had some good food. I loved the kringlas and Churros. Stale. No excuses. Nasty this year. The restaurants had more variety and better food 10 years ago.
So it saddens me and irritates me to pay more money for sucky food now.

I'm from NYC myself and the good anywhere else doesn't compare but that's at any vacation spot. I think the sit down restaurants in disney for the most part are fine

I agree. There's more to Disney than just theme parks. The resorts and parks are clean, friendly and well-maintained. POR isn't the poshest hotel I've ever been in but its quiet and lovely and the pools and food court are great. I've never had a bad meal at Disneyworld and we eat CS most of the time. We stay on site and use Disney transportation so we have an easy, worry-free vacation. If I win the lottery tomorrow I'll be Disneyworld on Saturday!
