Why Don't People Give Their Location?

Well, where the heck is middle-of-the-mitten?

Well, all people from Michigan are taught that the lower peninsula is shaped like your left hand withthe fingers closed, like a mitten.

WoW - that took me back to grade school. We sometimes forget that not everyone knows that

Just like we LIKE to know:

what you do for a living
how many kids you have and why
what breed dog you have and how many cats
what you drive
how many times you go to WDW and how much you spend
waht do you do on your day off
what is your favorite kind of cookie
do you lick or bite your ice cream? and do you lick your cone up or around?

We don't NEED to know, but we tend to be a nosy bunch. And it's fun to get to know everyone!!

I didn't list my location because I simply figured no one really cares. I don't have a problem telling, though. It's NEW JERSEY, everyone! :wave2:

I change my every once in a while. Since I don't have many tags from the tag fairy, this is my way to be creative;)

I just want to know what U means in the sex question. Male, Female or U..what is a U?

For my privacy, I've only listed my general region of the country. I figure that will help people out if I post that it's cold here or something. However, I also don't hesitate to post area-specific information and I'd certainly let you know if you ask. I guess I'm just contradictory.

Some posters make incorrect assumptions just because of your location and it gets really annoying.

You mean you aren't from Belgium?

I wish I had seen that, but with so many Waffle Houses in the south, I figured Georgia!

I went to K-4 in MI - guess that's why I immediately knew where it was.

I only put in my location so that you'll all feel sorry for me for having to live here. ;)

The problem with living in Michigan, is that you get used to answering "where are you from" by pointing to a location on the back of your hand. This causes problems when you move to another state...

I had my state posted for awhile but then 2 things got to me

#1 on another message board I frequent I had it listed as well and I got an email from someone threatning to come to my state and find me and "rough me up" as they put it so I decided it wasn't worth it

#2 is because some people love to bad mouth where I live (even someone on this thread) and I don't like to be told how awful my state is...because I like it here!

If I reply to a post where it is necessary to post where I am ie:a what's the weather like or something I will post the state but I don't want it out there for all to see....and make fun of.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Good one!

laziness I guess....that and we move faster than I can get my profile updated. I've lived in 3 states since joining DIS

I grew up in Illinois and we weren't taught anything about Michigan and mittens unless you count needed to bring them when you went "skiing" there?

I'm not picking on anyone, but it's funny to me that the people who have stated they are simply too lazy to put their state in their profile have taken time to respond to this thread so they could say they are too lazy to put their state in their profile :confused3.

Not really on this board, but I sometimes get that reaction when people find out that I live in Arkansas. Some cannot believe that anyone would move here from the San Francisco area.
