Why doesn't this make sense???

I have priced out every configuration of room type and ticket and meal plan package on the Disney website that our party might possibly end up using. For Feb. 23-27, 2013. I have written down all the prices exactly as the website gives them--the "rack rates." THEN, I emailed our TA and asked her to price out a few of the options with the stay/play/dine promo.

The prices she came up with don't seem to make sense. What am I missing???
For example:
Website Pop Pool view room, 2 ad; 4 day PH, QSD= $1691.82 (TA =$1586.60); with DDP = $1846.70 (TA= $1780.20)

Website POR Garden view 2 ad, 3 ch (17, 16, 5); 4 day PH; DDP=$3584.44 (TA= $3788.43).

The s/p/d Visa promo comes out as a slight savings at the value resort, and as MORE at the moderate, according to my TA!

WTHeck?????

Id guess the ta is getting the park tiz off site and that means theyre not paying sales take on that piece of it altho the whole thing may just be tax exempt for them

I'd call Monday and have your TA go over the quote again with you. My guess is the view is different on the POR room or maybe a Royal Room was quoted although with 5 people it shouldn't come up OR she upgraded your dining. There's no reason it should be more than rack rate. There's no way

I KNOW! It just does not make any sense! The frustrating thing is they are email only; no way to contact by phone.

I guess I will be calling disney direct tomorrow. They ARE open weekends, right?

They are open weekends

No phone? Yikes

Did you upgrade your dining on the value? Maybe the TA was just confused and upgraded dining on the moderate too? Thinking now though I think it would be more expensive than that with deluxe. No clue really hope you get it figured out

I had her figure it out with QSD and DDP. I put in every permutation on the site (which was plain, everyday rates--no discount) and then narrowed it down and asked for specific rates from my TA. i will email again and ask...on Monday, apparently, since i emailed about 3;00 CST today and have not heard back yet from my (EST) TA.

Can I ask why go with the TA if a.) they are more expensive and b.) hard to contact-what happens if you have an issue while on vacation? I know you didn't ask but I wouldn't use a TA that I could ONLY contact by email...JMO

They are usually really great & will set up all of our dining ressies for us & everything. And when we cruise on DCL they usually have better on board credit for booking with them. They also watch for promos and apply them for us to our trips. Something just isn't adding up correctly this time.

Usually the TA will transfer the reservation to you once it's paid off at least in the case when i used one they did. I like control of my reservation and like to make changes only reason I haven't used one again but for people that don't have time to look multiple times a day for a room to open up or a dining reservation to become available TAs are great
