Why doesn't anyone like The Plaza?

We recently ate there for the first time and liked it. We were not on DDP and ate there for dinner. Nothing fancy, but everything tasted good and it was probably one of the quicker TS meals we had during the trip.

We didn't do the dining plan on our trip. We thought to Plaza was great for lunch.
Good sandwiches and fabulous desserts. We had a lovely view of the castle from our table. It isn't highly themed or crazy w/characters - just deli sandwiches and ice cream.
If that's not enough pizzaz, skip it. However, if that sounds good - in a nice small place with a/c and a view of the castle - it's perfect. :thumbsup2

We LOVE the Plaza and it is our last meal of every trip. But we are also of the mindset that we don't look to see if it is "a big bang for our buck" on the dining plan. We don't care about the prices...we care about the food and the service. After all the heavy meals we eat all during our trip on the dining plan, the Plaza is our one "simple food" meal that we have thoroughly enjoyed in over ten visits.

That is exactly why I love it too. Sometimes I just want a sandwhich and not something that is going to make me feel heavy and tired. The Plaza is great for that. Love the tuna sandwhich.

I also think it is very pretty.:)

I love the Plaza. The club sandwich is one of my absolute favorites, and my son loves the Mickeylodeon. :goodvibes

It could also have something to do with the fact that the menu looks completely pedestrian. That's not meant as a commentary on the quality of the food, which is fine, but it's rare that I find myself saying "man, I NEED a chicken sandwich."

I think this is a big part of the reason. LTT lunch is a different menu from LTT dinner, and most don't like the dinner as much. The lunch has a few dishes that are much-loved and much-recommended on here on the boards...the fried cheese (with cheddar, which isn't that common), the Colony Salad, the ooey-gooey toffee cake, etc. Whereas the Plaza's food is good for what it is, but it's your basic club sandwiches, reubens, burgers, nothing really unique.

Honestly, I think if LTT's a la carte menu was available at dinner, too, I think you'd see many folks recommending the Plaza for lunch and LTT for dinner.

We've had good experiences at the Plaza. Other than having a little boy from the next table wipe the ketchup from his roll on my shorts. I would have thought it a lot funnier if his parents stopped laughing long enough to apologize.

The Plaza is a fine casual place to have someone else bring you a simple sandwich. The ice cream is decent, too. It's very inexpensive for DDP, so Plan guests probably won't touch it with a 10 foot pole. But, for cash guests, it's a nice option.

Just to echo what others have said: I've been to the Plaza twice. The food is perfectly fine, pretty good in fact. It's also reasonably priced (by Mouse standards). I don't regret going and I won't black list the place (like I do Tony's).

However, service is SLOOOW. Took about 1 hour just for my cup of soup and sandwich. The place is also very small, and as such is always loud and crowded.

Not a bad place at all, but not the best option in MK.

We really enjoyed the Plaza. I think it frequently gets overlooked because it is such a poor value for dining plan guests, but it is a much better lunch choice than Liberty Tree in my opinion. Not that LTT was bad - we all really liked the food. It is just far too heavy/filling a meal for midday, and I really wish they offered the same/similar menu at dinner rather than the family style offerings.
