Why does everyone hate sci fi?

Is the food that bad? we have a adr there, never been.. but I kep reading bad review after another. is it really that bad? Does anyone actually like it?

I love it!! My kids love the burgers and shakes. I love the turkey club! The atmosphere is GREAT

I ate there for the first time back in February and it was not a bad experience. I thought my chicken sandwich was nice and moist and it was very nice to have the option to have a milkshake to go as our dessert.

Since I went with a first we ended up in "car" with a family of 5 in front of us... I think since the kids were well behaved that really helped - Especially with how the parents took care of their 18 month old when he got fussy. We really lucked out.

Would I go back - Yes just for lunch but if I had a choice between Sci-Fi and 50's Prime Time Cafe I'd pick 50's Prime Time... the food was better IMO and it defiantly had better lighting. But I'm also comparing a Dinner at 50's Prime Time Cafe to lunch at Sci-Fi.

I didn't find it bad, it wasn't the greatest meal ever, but the atmosphere makes it a really fun place to eat.

The swiss and mushroom cheeseburger was good. I was disappointed in the beef and bleu salad but you will find people who like it. It's not fabulous food but it's not someplace worth "hating" either. Some folks may find it a waste of a TS credit because the food is pretty basic.

We really enjoyed eating at Sci-fi. Fun Atmosphere and Our food was very good.
My DH had the Ribs and said they were really good, I had the Shrimp with pasta and thought it was very good, DS ordered the Veggie burger and ate it all (we ate dinner there and DS was able to order from the lunch menu without any problems).
Plus we had a very nice Server. Try Sci-fi a least once and then you can decide if you like it or not. We liked Sci-fi so much better than 50s PT--because it was quieter more relaxed setting.

We like it a lot. My older son and I love the tofu dish, and my other son and husband are happy with the burgers and veggie burgers.

I didnt know they had veggie burgers I didnt see those on the menus online.

If you have never been to Sci-Fi, then you should go. The atmosphere is really fun. The food however is not much better than counter service. There are much more yummier options available for your dining pleasure.

Everytime we have been to WDW we make a stop at the Sci Fi. My kids love it, we love the atmosphere and it has become a tradition with us. When I read some of the reviews I think some people are so picky and want everything to be exceptional. Sometimes it is about the atmosphere and the theming AND that is enough for my family. The food is fine...nothing stands out as a 'must have' for me but then I could say that about most places. Don't cancel your ADR because of others...try it...you might really like it.

I have read so many bad reviews of Sci Fi but we tried it for lunch anyways and loved it! We just had burgers and onion rings and a reuben and it was very good

The next time we went was also for lunch, again we had burgers and it was very good.

Nothing else on the menu wowed me so that is why we stuck with burgers. It is a fun place to go to and the old time videos are a blast!

We really enjoyed SciFi. No complaints here. And I have a friend who lists it as a must-do for their family.

I really enjoyed our food there. I had a chicken sandwich and the rest of the family had burgers and milkshakes. We were warned by a friend who was with us to stick with the basics. I am sad we are not going back to the sci fi on our next trip.

We eat here almost every vacation (have been to Sci Fi at least a dozen times) and I've never had anything to eat here, except the onion rings, that I thought was good. I have tried everything on the lunch menu and IMO, it's all pretty mediocre.

The atmosphere is very unique and fun and so I put up with the food.

Ditto on the reuben, my son's favorite sandwich! The burgers and milkshakes are good! The kids love the experience and it makes for a fun lunch, though I've never been for dinner!

Sci-Fi is one of my favorites!!! The atmosphere is what always makes us go back! Last time we ate there it was good. I think the theming is so good that the food doesn't need to be great for us to return. There are great restaurants for food at WDW and there are bad ones...I'd put Sci-Fi in the middle.

We went last week. We've been there before and went back because the kids liked it. It's a good place for atmosphere, the food is fine. DH has had ribs, burger and I've had the beef and bleu salad both time. No complaints.

We are going here for the very first time for lunch. My two older kids are so excited. When we were there the last time, they had to shut down the restaurant the day we were there because of an emergency and we were really bummed out.

I do have a question though... my son will be 10 months old when we are there, how will this work with the car seating? I'm assuming a highchair won't be available since the tables are set up differently. I made the reservation for four plus highchair and they didn't say anything. Should I call back and change it?

I think Sci-Fi has decent food, but I really go there for the fun atmosphere! It's a must every trip
