Why does dvc literature only come in spouses name?

The way that the primary account holder was explained to us by our DVC Guide was that person would have final say in the event there was a dispute involving the use of the DVC membership. In case of divorce the Primary Account holder would retain majority ownership. If I remember correctly.

I believe it is just the first person listed on the paperwork. There is no "primary" owner of a DVC contract and no majority of ownership. All owners are equal.

While I don't necessarily disagree with you in principle, if you look on the website under profile it lists purchaser and then additional purchasers.

Just passing along what we were told when we purchased. If you disagree then contact DVC and get clarification.

Quite frankly, and IMO of course, I could care less if the literature comes in my dog's name as long as I receive it. (Actually, my dog did receive a credit card application once) But if this issue creates stress for some, I'm sure DVC would be happy to send mail to whatever name one requests.

Dean is correct. I looked at our contract and that is what it states. All owners are equal. Sorry for the mistake. As I indicated "if I remember correctly".

But I do have to agree with jarestel. Now if only I could his dog to put the cost of an add on that credit card.

What are the different Member Types and what are their rights and privileges?
Definitions:
A "Purchaser" or "Additional Purchaser" is a person that is named on the deed of the Ownership Interest. Purchasers are also referred to as Club Members. The Primary Purchaser is the first person named on the deed. While a reservation confirmation is normally mailed to the Primary Purchaser, any Club Member may request to receive the reservation confirmation instead of the Primary Purchaser. Additionally, all financial information pertaining to the ownership interest, including Annual Dues Statements and Form 1098 (reporting mortgage interest), will be mailed to the Primary Purchaser. To designate a different Primary Purchaser to receive the financial information mailings, a request must be submitted in writing to Membership Administration and must be signed by all Purchasers. All Purchasers have equal ownership rights and all Purchasers receive Member Cards.

We bought a resale from TSS. When the paperwork came in it had hubby's name first. Called Jerry at TSS and was told it really made no difference but if I insisted they could resend the paperwork with my name first. I insisted;) . I then sent back the wrong form, and had signed in the wrong place- oops!:confused3 Jerry was a sweetheart about all of that.

Got our stuff from DVC, addressed to my hubby..... I called DVC and was told that mailing would be sent in the name of the primary owner. I pointed out that was me, and I was willing to stay on hold while they doubled checked that fact:rotfl: . They took me up on that and I did stay on hold about 10 minutes and when the lady came back, she apologized for the wait and the mistake and said future mailings should be in my name but the next 2 or 3 might be in his since various stuff was already printed out.

She was dead on. We got 2 more pieces with his name and since then everything has been properly in my name:thumbsup2

This is my timeshare, and yes his name is on it too but just like he has his gun collection, and multiple computers that are definitively his: This is mine:flower3: and is the only large purchase I chose and got exactly what I wanted.

So I completely get wanting the mail in your name. I do too!

Everything comes in my DH name he is the primary, but I do all the work for every trip not him, but I dont see a reason to call member services. As long as we are getting the literature there is nothing to worry about
