I've just been wondering lately why Disney World is so special to so many? We all save for it. We all spend oodles of money to go there.
But somehow no one minds because it is Disney.
I know for me...it is chance to be my authentic self...the wide eyed kid filled with wonder at all of the magical and interesting things there are to see in the world...no business to run, no hassles, I get to be a non grown up for a while. I get to be silly. I'm really looking forward to spending time with my family and having the chance to step out of our actual very busy lives and just making memories together. Don't get me wrong we have a family business and spend ALOT of time together, we have fun, but somehow Disney is different. I was wondering what it is about Disney World that you all love too?

I agree with your post. It makes me feel like I'm 5 years old again, and no place else on Earth can give me that feeling.

I don't think I can put it into words, it's just a feeling I get when I am there, like the rest of the world has disappeared and there are no worries or responsibilities. It truly is the happiest place on earth.

Disney has something for everyone. If you don't want to park hop, the WDW resorts are themed so nicely that you could spend a whole day just lounging by the resort pool and not feel like you've missed out on something.

It brings me back to my childhood, when I wasn't worried about violence, hatred, disease and war.

It makes me smile, it makes me skip(literally!!LOL)like I'm a little girl again, it makes my ds's eyes grow to the size of grapefruits!!, it makes us laugh, cry and it makes memories like no other place can!! PRICELESS!

Going to WDW lets me relax and be a kid again. On no other vacation do I feel as good as when I am surrounded by all things Disney. Disney makes me feel like all is right in the world, when I know it really isn't most days. It's pure escapism, and who couldn't use a few weeks of that?

it's an escape for me...for as long as I can remember at WDW nothing was ever wrong.....no matter what was happening in life, we could go to WDW and leave the real world behind. It really is a magical place.

Once, when we were walking up to the MK, my dad said "Is this what Heaven is like?". Of course Heaven will be better :teeth:, but I guess that kind of explains our feelings about it. WDW is the best manmade attempt at utopia that I have found.

I think it makes you feel very safe.

Sure you have to have common sense, but some people say they rather go to other country's or places, than world showcase, but it is a frightening world out there and WDW just gives you a sense of inner peace.

It makes me smile like an idiot, which it takes something truly special to even make me smile...

I normally don't answer posts like this one, because I can't put into words why I love Disney so much, I just do. :D

Ditto all of the above :p

I'm pretty lucky - I've done my fair share of traveling throughout North America and the Caribbean, but honestly....there's no place I'd rather travel to than WDW.

From the moment the plane touches down at MCO, you get a feeling that your cares are left back at work, home (or wherever), and you're free to relive your childhood for a few days.

We were pretty poor when I was little, so I never got to enjoy the magic until I was an adult. I guess being in Disney made me go back to a lost time in my childhood, and now, at 40 years old, I just want to stay there!

I don't think I can even put it into words how I feel about Disney. It makes me feel like I'm 5 again (that's when I started going to Disneyland) and I don't know anything in the world that can give me that feeling of happiness and having no worries. Disney reminds me of my childhood and that carefree feeling. It also means so many more things to me but I just can't put it into words. :sunny:

For 8 days and 7 nights every year, our family is "whole" again. Just the 5 of us together, no deadlines, no outside obligations tugging at us while we make memories that will last a lifetime. We are happy, content and at peace in the greatest place on earth.

Because of all of the reasons listed (except for the affordable one), as well as being spoiled by the customer service. That is why I love staying onsite.

Also, this next trip, my niece and her family will be there. Her children have never been before. I'm looking forward to being with them when they go to the Magic Kingdom for the first time!

It really is hard for me to put into words, it meanns so very much to me. It is such a unique place, truly magical in its and their ability to transport me and others so successfully to that which they are attempting to do. They do it well.
