Why do you like Disney so much?

I'm a single mom to DD5 and its just the best place for us to vacation. We are both safe and comfortable at WDW. There's always plenty to do, we can drive there in about 6.5 hours, and compared to many vacations, WDW is pretty affordable. DD absolutely loves it. That being said, I don't think I'd ever go to WDW without a child. I think of it as a place for kids.

I first liked Disney b/c of that magical feeling you would get just walking around the park. Everyone is happy and enjoying themselves. Everyone has come for the same reason...to see the magic and to see Mickey. My parents started taking me as soon as I could walk and that feeling has lasted throughout the years.

Now as a parent myself what I love most about Disney is seeing the same feeling and joy that I experienced as a child light up my children's faces everytime they see the castle, a character or their favorite ride (at the moment, Dumbo).

I agree 100 magical percent. Disney is a definite escape from the cruel reality of the real world and days of pure fantasy. That is our reason for going every year. Also, my husband says my eyes sparkle in a magical way when I even start planning our trip, not to mention when we are at the world. :earseek: That works for me, too. Plus, the mickey head ice cream bars help out, too! :mickeybar Maxaroni, don't you just feel terribly sorry for those poor souls who have to rationalize everything and can't just BELIEVE!:sad1: People like that just don't understand the joy of life and not growing up because, as we Disers know, growing old is mandatory, growing up is NOT!!

This is a place to really bring your inner child out. My DH and I can just go and it really makes us feel like a king and queen even though we have children. We slow way down from the hustle and bustle that we live everyday. :rotfl:

I love Disney because I can act like a kid and no one will judge me. You don't have to worry about looking cool or anything. I've seen goth people taking pictures with characters, now that's magical! I'm 16 years old and when I'm in Disney, I'm actually anxious to be around my parents. Hahaha. WDW is clean, has a lot of well themed rides, plenty of food, nice workers, and plenty of space to roam. And when you stay at a resort, you never have to see the outside world, Disney is it's own world with nothing but fun at your finger tips.

Because it's the one place I can go where my vacation dollar is not wasted. i dont worry if I am going to have a good time or not. disney does everything 110% from the roller coatser to the bathrooms everything is poerfect,

She then said it was just a bunch of fairies.

And that is what's great about it.

You need to buy her Peter pan for christmas. She has forgotten how to have fun.

all of the above!!! Maybe it just brings life back "down" to the "simple basics" again, and it feels SO good to be uncomplicated for a while!!!

The look in my daughter's eyes when she sees her favorite characters and rides the attractions...

You can be a kid again and act silly or wear a silly hat and no one looks at you like you are crazy! Also being in a laid back atmosphere and it is a safe place for families-but above all else-my DD's excitement!!

Well for starters, there is a LOT of this guy ::MickeyMo I enjoy the escape from reality, and I love being immersed in Disney. :earsboy:

You are so right....I just shake my head :earseek:

For us, it's escaping our hectic mundane life and being swept into a magical place. DH and I grew up on Disney as children so when we go there we feel like we're kids again.

SOMETHING FOR EVERYBODY could not be a truer statement about Disney and you do get everybody.Sometimes I like to just sit and watch all the different people the kids smiles ,the moms sweating and the dads watching their money float away.you can see it all and be it all.

There is nowhere else in the world where 2 grown women can wear plastic tiarras all day long and be greated like royalty everywhere. Now That is the best vacation ever! :earseek: :earboy2:

My childhood wasn't the best and to cope I was into fantasy alot and would escape into another world via books. Going to WDW allows me to be the little girl I never was allowed to be (too busy trying to be the adult). I try to promote fantasy and imagination with my two DSs in hopes that when they get older that they too choose WDW for their escapism and not alcohol or drugs. Disney just makes me truly happy... :flower:

Because of the magic. Nowhere else would I be able to get my very shy 12 year old to walk around all night with an elf hat on. Nowhere else would he get up in front of hundreds of strangers with or without his sister and beat on his chest and do a Tarzan yell. Nowhere else can my 9 year old wear a tiara all day long and be called princess 50 times a day by total strangers. Nowhere else can we eat in Morocco, ride a boat through Mexico and stroll through a Japanese garden all within a couple of hours. Nowhere else do I hear "thank you" over and over for days on end from my kids.

I love that no bmatter how bad life is on the other side of the gates, while you're in them, you have a tendency to not worry about any of the day-to-day monotonies. It's one of the only places on earth that you can dream the biggest dreams and have faith that one day you'll be living them.

xoxo

I just love the feeling I get when I first see the Disney World Sign upon arrival. I've never had a bad or unpleasant experience. My first trip wasn't until I was 38 years old. I am a member of a large family and family vacations weren't in the budget. I had to be talked into the first trip, and became "hooked", now I talk others into going with me! Since my first trip I have been back 4 times, plus 2 Disney cruises. I am even thinking about a solo trip in April. Disney is the only place where I think I will feel safe enough to travel to alone. :earboy2:

It is a happy place, and I a place where I feel I belong and are special.
princess:.

The MAGIC!!!! It's just the perfect place! Everything is perfect and happy and it just gives you a great feeling being there. You truly feel like you have escaped to a magical, wonderful, perfect, amazing place while you are there. It's odd though how some people get the magic and some don't. For me there is no other "vacation", just little trips I have to take to other places until I get to go back.
