Another great update. I don't think the trains have ever been running while we were in Germany. It's a cute little village, though. And I LOVE China! I have no urge to visit the actual country but I love the Epcot version. They have the best store.

I can tell you EXACTLY why the train set is down sometimes... kids climb over the fence when parents aren't looking and "play" with the trains.

How do I know this? ... uhm... er... guess!

I almost commented but figured you'd find the update. No mani-pedi on Friday. I spent too much this week already and I can't justify any more just for that. Oh well. I'm not that upset really.

I have never been throught the shops in Germany because I have always been too afraid my little ones would break something. Some how I have always been able to stop and have a pretzel and a beer.

We really did not do the gift shops either. Kids never let us. I am not a huge shoper but someday I would love to have a day to myself at Epcot - or with good DIS friends - just to shop, binge eat, and drink!

I'm here and right on time apparently. No time to quote, I've got to go to school now!

Hi DM, you finally made it to my home country!! I am really sorry that German "wine farmers" (that's what they are called here) decided to market only the really bad German wines abroad! I never understood that, I would never buy German wine outside Germany, while the stuff you get here can be pretty amazing!!

And sorry for the trains not running! I think they are a great little attraction, very German!

Nice pics, and update DM! The first time we brought the boys to Epcot (i think 2003) we found a hidden mickey in one of the windows of that large building (in the model train area). Unfortunately, by the time we thought to look again (2005) it was gone.

Don't know if they put another in the area....

I never thought to look for hidden Mickeys. Occasionally we would see one and point them out. What I love is that each year they kids get a bit older we experience more. I am loving that!

Yes! That was the EXACT one we saw. Unbelieveable. I'd recognize those eyes anywhere ... They don't bother me at all. It's spiders that will practically send me into a coronary.

It's quite funny, I really want the German pavillion to be a good representation of my country and actually trains here work pretty well (just not tomorrow: the train drivers will be on strike... )

And with the wines: yes, that's the point, they only export the sweet stuff while the dry wines are sold domestically. And in recent years even German red wines have become very drinkable. I have no idea whether sending wine would be allowed, I never take anything that resembles an agricultural product in anyway with me as those are not allowed to enter the US according to forms you get on the plane... However, there must be ways, I am sure they don't sell smuggled wine at Epcot
