We've always done the Tink shot--have never asked for it but the photographer always has requested that we cup our hands (last visit, he did it at MK and Epcot). BA really likes it--but I like the ones of us all looking forward.
She likes her Tink pin too.......she wears Tinkerbell a lot (hat, pins, shirt) so maybe that's why they always do the picture.

So what cha doing today?? It is DH's birthday so we got 10 people here for cake tonight. Gotta get rolling!

After he took the photos I asked the CM if he could take the famous Tinkerbell photo with
Brooke. He said he was sorry but he was not allowed to do that anymore. I was disappointed
and it must have showed in my face because the CM looked at Brooke and pulled this out of
his pocket for her...

Just wanted to say how cute the pictures were from Crystal Palace. That is one of my family's favorite places to go in Disney. We have always had good food and great character interaction there. My Mom, who sometimes travels with us, can't get over how "fancy" it is with all the glass yet you can dress casual...yeah,ok,Mom...this IS Disney...shorts and T-shirts ARE the dress code! Of course she still thinks you can only wear white after Easter!!!

DM....this is my bestest friend and I twisted her arm to actually join (she's been on here since the very beginning) and start posting on the Dis...see what a bad influence I have been And she loves the CP so I told her to get on over and read your installment...hey BTTT...you can wear white before Easter????

Hey DM,

You got some nice family photos. I encountered a similar problem with the tinkerbell picture. We were trying to get it in the evening though and they said they couldn't do it because of lighting issues but that we should try during the day? I'm not sure how the lighting could really be an issue as it is a computer generated graphic. Oh well.

I'm just bummed about the Tink pics but I'll survive....I will survive...HEY HEY! (Okay, I really am dating myself now!)

Hi Dm, Loved the latest installment! Your castle pics are wonderful. I wasnt sure what the TINK picture thing was about but I think I figured it out I thought you could just add tink to your photopass pics when you edited them before you order your CD online- I am new to all this -what do I know

There are so many other photo ops with the PhotoPass that it shouldn't matter to you. For your boys you may want to get them at MGM on a Star Wars vehicle. The pic is pretty cool done by the PhotoPass guy. But I'm not posting ours for quite awhile now....

Funny when I read about my boys getting great booty at the gift shop. At first I was not thinking what you were thinking....(think about it ).

I didn't always sleep so well in Disney. I slept with Brooke and after 2 days I had to request a bed rail because she would either almost sleep right on me or I was worried she would roll off the side of the bed - and those are some high beds!

We had one photographer ask if I wanted one of the Tink pics since I was wearing a Tink hat and when I got home and checked them online it was just a pic of me cupping my hands...I was unhappy to say the least because the Tink pics were great from our last trip (DH even convinced the Photographer to have him look like he was smashing Tink)!

AE made a homemade chocolate cheesecake . and I bought a chocolate cake from Food Lion too. So lots of chocolate! We had 16 family members over and it went pretty good.....but he said next year, he just wants to go out to eat somewhere...

I don't think Rob had much choice really about taking the kids to the pool. They know who to bug when it comes to swimming. I would have gone but I really wanted some time to myself to do some note taking on our trip.

Yes...$20! But at least they haven't lost them....yet! They were pretty cool medallions and Evan still wears his from time to time. Alec not so much. I wish I could depend on a nap from Brooke but she really has pretty much given them up. We just pooped her out and pretty much every day on our vacation.

Sunday, June 24....Port Orleans Riverside
Dinner and some shopping...


Hopes:
1. A better day with PhotoPass...
2. A wonderful meet with Courtney...
3. No blisters on my feet...today was my Crocs Ithaca day...
4. A meeting with the Dream Team...

Wants:
1. Ride Splash Mountain with Courtney & Ryan ...
2. A good lunch at Crystal Palace with good character interaction...
3. Have a good rest at the resort in the afternoon...
4. Return to Magic Kingdom in evening for dinner and Wishes...

It was nearing 4:30 pm and we all were starting to get hungry. We wanted to eat here and then hop a bus back to the Magic Kingdom for more fun! Brookie was still napping so Rob & I decided to split up and each go to Riverside Mill to get counter service meals. I went first with Alec. We walked over there together and I chose the burger basket with fries and a chocolate cake for dessert. They had to specially make my burger because I do not like cheese on it. Hey, better freshly made! Alec chose the kids chicken nuggets meal. We carried it all back to our room on a tray so Rob could quickly go with Evan.

I remembered to take a picture of my dessert...after a couple bites, that is!

As Alec & I were eating, we heard some very loud thunder and WHAM! A lovely Florida thunderstorm had rolled in but fast. It was raining extremely hard and I knew Rob would be trapped at Riverside Mill. I was glad I went first. I went to call Rob and then I heard his phone going off in the room. Darn him! He never takes his stupid cell! What good is it in the room? Plus I don't even like his ring tone. It's the group Rush. I liked them back in the early 80s but not now. Whatever, it's his and I guess he gets to choose his. Can anyone guess who I have on my ringtone? Name the artist and the song...

I tried to take some pics of the rain storm but they didn’t come out as well as I had hoped. But here they are anyway...

The storm lasted quite a while. Brookie had woken up but was not hungry, per usual. Rob called me from a house phone (at least he was thinking there ) and said that they were finishing up their meals and when the rain cleared they would be back. Sure enough, they came back about 5:30 pm.

What did we want to do now? We talked about our options. We could still hear thunder so we didn’t know if we wanted to go back to the Magic Kingdom. We knew we had to get up extra early on Monday to make an 8 am ADR at Donald’s Breakfastosaurus. So, we decided to take our trays back to Riverside Mill and go to the gift shop. On the way I snapped a few more pictures.

So, we get into the gift shop and it’s pure gloriousness (love my word?). Oh, didn’t the kids want to buy things there! Plus, at this point I was tired of asking Rob for the KTTW cards whenever we needed to do FPs or use for dining, etc. I wanted to have them handy for me. So I hunted around the gift shop for something I could attach to my Team Focker Watch lanyard. I found a plastic card holder that attached to a Mickey clip. It cost $5.50. Sold!

The boys each wanted a toy monorail and a mini light-up laser sword. Brookie wanted a light-up laser sword and one of the light-up spin toys. Plus I got her 3 pairs of pink Mickey earrings.

So, where do we want to go to next? We all decided to use a snack credit and get us some ice cream! Rob & the boys got milk shakes and I got a double scoop of black raspberry ice cream which I shared with Brooke. Now, you’re probably wondering, “Is that what that poor girl had for dinner?” Well, kinda. We did give her some yogurt and grapes back in the room too if that makes you feel any better. She is just not a huge eater if she has already had one large meal. Remember Crystal Palace? She ate very well there!

We slowly strolled back to our room. Here’s a couple of more pictures that I took.

This is where we turned to go to our building. I liked the sign and that’s Alec in the picture on the right and Brookie way ahead. The path to the right of Brookie is where we turned to enter our building coming from Riverside Mill.

And finally, a closer look at our building as the boys were heading back to the room. Our room was a couple doors to the left of the picture.

We all washed up and relaxed and went to sleep very early as we had to get up very early! Even though we didn't get back to the Magic Kingdom we really weren't too upset about this. We knew we were going back on Friday.
