Now, it’s time to show you a framed picture that was on our wall in our room. This picture
really started to freak Brookie out. She kept saying that it was “kary” (she doesn’t pronounce
her S’s too well. And how good of a Mommy am I? I took a picture of Felicia on top of the
picture first...
P1000788.jpg

...and then I draped a towel on it for the rest of our trip. I left a note for mousekeeping not
to touch the towel and told her why. Still, Brookie just hated that picture! By now it was close
to dinner time and what did we decide to do.....?

DM - I do not blame Brooke one bit - the trees in that picture look very ominous. :scared: Did Mousekeeping keep the towel in place for you?

Good update, even if it was small.... :goodvibes

I love the pics of the quiet pool. We were at POFQ and didn't have time to venture over to POR to check out the pools. But, because we had a parallel trip with your family, I did have a laundry mishap at the POFQ pool...First, I walked around the bldg that had a laundry sign pointing to it at least 2 times. Then I tracked down a CM who pointed me to a completely different bldg. At last, I found the washers. I had also brought the little packets of detergent with me, but when I got over to the laundry room and opened the packet only a tiny little bit of detergent came out. :confused3 I looked more closely at the packet and realized that I had bought packets of Tide for using in the sink with hand wash clothing. I dumped in 3 packets and then decided I would have to buy some detergent there anyhow. Ahhh, the best laid plans. At least we ended up with clean underwear. :lmao:

I still love those Maps...Very Ingenious.....& I love POR.....Too Bad about the Detergent....we just take all the Clothes we will need plus 2 outfits...& do laundry for 2 days after we get Back...

Love the Quite Pools!!!!!!

& what did you eat that Day at the Riverside Mill????

Also...those Pictures are kinda Scary!!!!

:thumbsup2

I got a full body shiver thinking back on having to do laundry at WDW...it should be illegal. Clothes should clean themselves! ::yes::

The quiet pool...was it quiet??

Aw! Poor Brookie!

I thought of you tonight, on "So you think you can dance" they played a Rob Thomas song and you popped right into my head.
:thumbsup2

I have to agree with your daughter....that picture is kind of creepy.:lmao: Poor baby. at that age stuff like that can really scare you. I love that resort. The quiet pools are so nice there. Anyways I am enjoying your trip report and am trying desperately to keep up !!! :yay:

So glad you covered the pic in your room! It did look "kary". :guilty:

Oh no you got blisters???? Poor you :goodvibes ouchy ouchy! I hope a change in shoes will help! For me, flip flops are good for short slow walks...

So glad you got to cool off in the pool....and do your fav thing...laundry! You did make it in the pool right? So refreshing!

Hey about dinner...did you get the make your own pasta? I did and it was so yummy! Did you try their cookies or milkshakes...I did...double yummy!! :rotfl2:

I also don't blame Brookie one bit about the pic. I think ours was a riverboat...hmmm let me check...oh yes...you can see it here in the background
IMGP3192.jpg

Why did they put such a dark pic...that IS kind of KARY!!!!????

So my guess is (hey I was right with my last guess!), you took the boat to DTD and had dinner over there??? :confused3 Can't wait to hear!!!

Dinosaur is one of my favorite rides in AKL - and I get scared every time we ride it and I ALWAYS shut my eyes at the end where the big dino comes out - I know it's not real and I know it's coming but I always chicken out at the end and don't look- and I'm definitely not a kid - LOL! :scared:
That's funny. Reminds of a long time ago when I watched The Rosie Show and she went to Disney World and she was freaked out by Dinosaur.

Hey DM! I wanted to post and say hi, haven't done that in a while! My biggest fear is getting blisters from my shoes, especially while in DW, and that's exactly what happened to me last year!! I wore flip flops down on the plane, and we went directly to DTD after we checked in at the hotel. It was so hot last Sept, that my feet started sweating and rubbing and I ended up with huge blisters on the balls of my feet! Pure agony for me! I limped the rest of the trip. Anyway, that is why I am worried about wearing crocs, so I stick to my sneakers just to be safe! Did you end up getting blisters from your sandles rubbing?? I hope not!
I guess I posted too soon! Yep, I had the same thing happen, of all places to get blisters! At least if they were on the backs of my heels I could have worn other backless shoes, but nope, right on the balls of my feet! It was so hard to walk after that! At least you had enjoyed some days in the parks, It happened to me my first day! So now, on my way to Disney, I only wear sneakers, no flip flops! (btw, the reason I had flip flops on was because my sneakers were packed away in my luggage and my luggage got lost on the way! Luckily, they found it within a few hours and I had my suitcase by that evening!)
Funny...I posted my update and then I saw your previous post. I thought this will be a good test on fast she reads my TR! It was definitely the sweat with the rubbing that caused the blisters. I wish I had brought powder with me. Oh, and the last time I wore sneakers, in 1 day I ended up with 8 blisters. I'm glad it was just a day trip and I relaxed on the beach the rest of the time soothing my sore sore feet.

That's too bad that you got blisters:headache:

Sounds like the fam had a nice relaxing afternoon in the pool. The pool was not crowded at all! I'm surprised it wasn't considering it was a hot summer day.

Can't wait for the next installment popcorn::
Oh those blisters were just the start of it. You'll see... The pool was very nice. I didn't swim in that one because I was doing laundry. But everyone else really liked it. The main pool is more busy.

I am now on page 43 - trying to catch back up. Courtney and you both have hot husbands. Maybe I should try to trade mine up.
Wow! Thanks. I wonder if I should tell Rob that one...

wow, that was quick! It was a short one, but still a good dose of DM. Great pictures as usual...Brooke is so cute in the pool. What's next? Or rather...WHEN is the next one? Are you developing a quicker pattern now or is this just a tease?
A good dose of DM. I like the sound of that. I still like my short updates. They are easier for me to get out. And there is no quicker pattern. I still average about 3-4 updates a week. I think that is fine...

I know that it probably looiks funny, but I have to wear socks with my crocs...No blisters for me...

ooh my 2 favorite things. The food court at POR and a quiet pool there. I was going to try CSR in March but now I think I may have to go back to POR.

Great update.
:thumbsup2
I just don't like the looks of CSR. I don't know why but that themeing just does nothing for me. Between all of the moderates, and I've only been to 2 of them, I still like POR the best. I wouldn't mind trying POFQ but it does fit our family of 5 and I'm not getting 2 rooms. I'd rather do a deluxe than 2 rooms.

That was a nice afternoon! Sorry about those packets of detergent - I had that with a shampoo sample recently. Got in the shower, and with wet hands I could NOT get that sucker open without using my teeth, and then I got a taste of shampoo. Yuck.

The pool looks lovely, even if your kids ruined the quiet... :rotfl2: Just kidding, of course. ;)

That picture is slightly "kary".
Mmm...doesn't everyone love a soapy mouth? ;) The kids did not ruin the quiet of the quiet pool. My kids are angels! :rolleyes1 The more I looked at the picture the less I liked it.

Ohhhhh! Another update :yay:

Looks like you had a relaxing afternoon!

I love time spent at the pool.

and a big "awwwwwww" for the scary pic.

Poor little DD :grouphug:
We had a very nice afternoon. We were totally able to rest up and get some stuff done and then go on to......well, I'm not telling.

DM - I do not blame Brooke one bit - the trees in that picture look very ominous. :scared: Did Mousekeeping keep the towel in place for you?

Good update, even if it was small.... :goodvibes

Renee
Yes, mousekeeping kept the towel over the picture the entire time. We took it down when we checked out. Brooke still did not like it even on the wall. She knew it was still "kary". My update being small? Hm....let me compare it to yours. Oh, that's right, you didn't have a TR now did you? :lmao:

What do you mean you had a parallel trip with my family? Were you there the same time. Did you tell me this already because I can't always remember so sorry. If you were there the same time, what was your itinerary?

You're such a good mommy!!!!!:lmao:
Thanks. I know! :goodvibes

Why thank you kind sir. I don't have enough clothes for our vacation. I never have enough clothes as I am not a person who likes buying clothes. I tend to wear the same thing a lot. I guess if I worked out of the home it would be different. What did we eat? Well, let me check the tickets... I had chicken tender basket with fries and chocolate cake. Rob had the double cheeseburger with fries and a brownie. All the kids had chicken nuggets and brownies. We had a lot of chicken tenders for CS meals as we love them.

DM - great update...I haven't posted much but I am following along!!
Thank you. I'm glad you still post once in a while though. I like to know that people are still here...

I got a full body shiver thinking back on having to do laundry at WDW...it should be illegal. Clothes should clean themselves! ::yes::

The quiet pool...was it quiet??
I didn't mind doing the laundry. I was able to lounge by the pool while doing it. I did 3 loads back when we stayed at the YC and that one was more difficult because I used the one at the end of our hallway and everyone else went to the pool but I wasn't comfortable totally leaving. So I was alone on our patio that time. The quiet pool wasn't exactly quiet but it was definitely not as noisy as the main pool. There weren't a lot of people at the quiet pool.

Thanks for the update! I'd hide from that picture too! Not very Disney-like is it???
That was a strange picture. I didn't think it was scary until Brooke kept freaking out over it. And, BTW -
Welcome-06-june.gif
. I noticed that this is your first post and I'm glad your reading!

Aw! Poor Brookie!
Aw, thanks. :goodvibes

I thought of you tonight, on "So you think you can dance" they played a Rob Thomas song and you popped right into my head.
:thumbsup2
My lover's song was on that show? I don't watch that one at all. But I'm certainly glad you thought of me! :goodvibes

I thought of you too DM! Disboards really are taking over my life!!!
Now 2 people thought of me. That is sooo special!!! :cheer2:

I have to agree with your daughter....that picture is kind of creepy.:lmao: Poor baby. at that age stuff like that can really scare you. I love that resort. The quiet pools are so nice there. Anyways I am enjoying your trip report and am trying desperately to keep up !!! :yay:
Yes, she didn't like that picture but, (spoiler alert) she didn't mind Snow White's ride. Go figure. I don't think my TR is hard to keep up with unless you read all the comments. I do have links posted both on the first post and at the bottom of every update to go to the next one. I'm glad you're enjoying my TR!

So glad you covered the pic in your room! It did look "kary". :guilty:
Poor baby had to sleep next to it. I didn't give her a choice of beds so covering it up was the only thing I could do. Plus I had a bed rail on her side of the bed that I told her protected her. Helped a little...

Answering you is fun. I did not change shoes, but more on that later. All of us got the chicken tenders for dinner, except Rob who got the double cheeseburger. We love chicken tenders. I never did get a cookie. I really really liked the chocolate cake. It was so moist. Everyone else got brownies for dessert, which were fine but a tad dry for me. I liked your picture so much better. I know the one in our room was supposed to go with the Bayou, thus the swamp house. :sad2: And your guess would be right! But not that night. ;) Sorry!

I know that it probably looiks funny, but I have to wear socks with my crocs...No blisters for me...
I saw those special socks in an LL Bean catalog for Crocs flops socks (say that 3x fast). But I just can imagine wearing those at the end of June...:confused3

Finally caught up! The pic in the room was scary. I wear socks with my crocs, but this next trip, I am wearing my scutes and hoping I won't have any problems.
