Yay!! great update! I love that tiger picture it reminds me of when my dog does that purposely so youll rub his belly!

Great installment I really enjoy reading about your experiences and deffinately agree the 25th was HOT it was are very first full day in Florida and were not used to that heat so it was extremely hot

Just read the last installment! Sorry you didnt get to ride Dinosaur! But I do understand not wanting to ride that alone - I don't think I could either!

Yeah an update! (Should we be thanking Jo for this?)
So since Jo asked for an update before she leaves, can I ask for one too? :rolleyes1
Bye DM!:wave2: I hope to come back to a new installment! ;)
Awww! I missed you. Sorry.

Great Installment! Our family has never been on Kali because our first trip was in Jan. and on our Jun. trip we had to skip AK :sad1: since we were only at WDW a few days. So thanks for including the video. My ds6 thought it was really cool and asked to watch it a few times.
I'm so glad that your DS wanted to watch our video a couple of times. My kids love watching it too but, of course, they're in it! :goodvibes

Glad you guys had a good start to your AK day although it sucks you did't get to ride Dinosaur! It is quite scary for me and I'm 24!

And there is nothing worse then needing water and not being able to find any. I'm surprised that none of the little carts were open. Mr. Kamal's sells bottled water and so does the Anandapur ice cream truck from what I remember...

I'm so happy for Alec that he made the height requirement for PW! I swore I was going to go hurtling out of that little car!
Yes, I was bummed I didn't get to ride Dinosaur. But there's always next time...;) All I know is that there was no water anywhere from the time we left Dinosaur to the time we got to EE. Rob said he had to really search for an open cart. Plus it wasn't easy for him because he said there were way too many people crammed into the paths. Alec was so excited to be 48 inches. I'm glad I forewarned him at home tho just in case he didn't make it. It made for a sweeter surprise!

That's funny about your dog. Now that I think of it, my doggy does that too! Too cute.

It just seemed so much more hotter in the AK that day. We felt like "sweat balls". Nice, eh? It made it even worse not finding water for awhile but the ice cream sure tasted good!

I'm just not a loner as far as those things go. I guess I could have went on alone but it's just that I am there with my family and I want to be with them. You know?

I am trying hard to work on the next update. I'm not sure I can get it done today but maybe if it's an extra short one...I'll try my hardest!!!

I was SO excited to find another update! I guess we can thank Jo for that one! (thanks Jo!! Hope you are having a good time!)

Loved the videos....and the picture from Dinosaur. I only rode that once but it is one of my favorites! The track is what makes it so fun!

I always get soaked on Kali, too (only been on it 3 times but EVERY single time I get soaked). I have to go when it's the hottest time of the day. For some reason I just can't escape getting wet! Glad you were covered with that sports bra!

Looking forward to the next update...hope it's today!

Down to 21 hours, so I will catch up when I get back. TTFN!
I don't know why I'm answering you because you'll be in Disney tomorrow and I doubt you'll read through all this. But if you do read this and see it, I want to know. I'm being sneaky now!

Since Jo is gone for more than a fortnight I thought I'd give her an update before she left. She in the air right now nearing Atlantic City, NJ. An update is coming right up soon...

I was surprised that Dinosaur scared the boys. They really are not scared that easily. But, that's okay. They knew it wasn't real. They just didn't like the end.

Dinosaur is one of my favorite rides in AKL - and I get scared every time we ride it and I ALWAYS shut my eyes at the end where the big dino comes out - I know it's not real and I know it's coming but I always chicken out at the end and don't look- and I'm definitely not a kid - LOL! :scared:

Hey DM! I wanted to post and say hi, haven't done that in a while! My biggest fear is getting blisters from my shoes, especially while in DW, and that's exactly what happened to me last year!! I wore flip flops down on the plane, and we went directly to DTD after we checked in at the hotel. It was so hot last Sept, that my feet started sweating and rubbing and I ended up with huge blisters on the balls of my feet! Pure agony for me! I limped the rest of the trip. Anyway, that is why I am worried about wearing crocs, so I stick to my sneakers just to be safe! Did you end up getting blisters from your sandles rubbing?? I hope not!

Monday, June 25...Port Orleans Riverside
Quiet Pool Time

Hopes:
1. More PhotoPass pictures taken...:sad2:
2. A good DIS meet with Laura...
3. No blisters on my feet...today was my Crocs Athens day again...
4. A meeting with the Dream Team

Wants:
1. A good breakfast at Donald’s Breakfastosaurus...:upsidedow
2. Ride Expedition Everest with Laura at park opening...:sad2:
3. Ride Dinosaur...:sad1:
4. Have a good rest at the resort in the afternoon...:laundy:
5. Return to Animal Kingdom in the evening for EMH

When we arrived back at the resort we sat down for a bit to relax. The balls of my feet were really hurting. I looked at them and sure enough there were blisters beginning on them. I knew it had to do with the sweating at the AK rather than my Crocs. But it was really a combo of both with the rubbing sweatiness. Sounds quite lovely I know.

We did decide that we were now very hungry. So off we went to Riverside Mill for counter service meals.
18toRM.jpg

We chowed down and went back to the room and everyone changed to go swimming. I wanted to do my favorite thing. Can you guess what that could be? It’s laundry! Because there was a quiet pool with laundry facilities on the other side of our building, that's where we all headed. Actually, Rob took the kids first while I packed the dirty laundry in plastic bags and put it in one of our small suitcases. Then I wheeled it on over to the quiet pool.
18toquiet.jpg

I staked out my lounge chair and plopped my stuff there and rolled the dirty laundry over to the washing machine. I only needed to do one load.

Now here’s one thing that ticked me off. I had brought this from home so I didn’t have to spend the money there...

But it took me forever to open the laundry detergent. I was even trying to rip it with my teeth and rubbing it on the coin slot surface. Finally a tiny bit opened and I was able to pour the detergent into the machine. So, I started the machine and went back to my lounge. Here’s where my picture taking is not so well. Sorry. But it gives you a feeling of what the quiet pool is like...

Evan getting ready to run and jump in. Yes, I told him not to do that. See cute Alec?

Rob helping Brookie swim while Alec looks on...

Just a wider view of the quiet pool...

And finally a short video of Brookie getting into the pool and Evan jumping in...

After the laundry was done washing and drying, I folded it all and headed back to our room. Rob & the kids followed shortly after. We all got redressed.

Now, it’s time to show you a framed picture that was on our wall in our room. This picture really started to freak Brookie out. She kept saying that it was “kary” (she doesn’t pronounce her S’s too well. And how good of a Mommy am I? I took a picture of Felicia on top of the picture first...
P1000788.jpg

...and then I draped a towel on it for the rest of our trip. I left a note for mousekeeping not to touch the towel and told her why. Still, Brookie just hated that picture! By now it was close to dinner time and what did we decide to do.....?

Next installment...June 25...Animal Kingdom...Extra Magical Hours

That's too bad that you got blisters:headache:

Sounds like the fam had a nice relaxing afternoon in the pool. The pool was not crowded at all! I'm surprised it wasn't considering it was a hot summer day.

Can't wait for the next installment popcorn::

I guess I posted too soon! Yep, I had the same thing happen, of all places to get blisters! At least if they were on the backs of my heels I could have worn other backless shoes, but nope, right on the balls of my feet! It was so hard to walk after that! At least you had enjoyed some days in the parks, It happened to me my first day! So now, on my way to Disney, I only wear sneakers, no flip flops! (btw, the reason I had flip flops on was because my sneakers were packed away in my luggage and my luggage got lost on the way! Luckily, they found it within a few hours and I had my suitcase by that evening!)

I am now on page 43 - trying to catch back up. Courtney and you both have hot husbands. Maybe I should try to trade mine up.

Now I know that you are tracking our posts. So, I'm upping mine.

wow, that was quick! It was a short one, but still a good dose of DM. Great pictures as usual...Brooke is so cute in the pool. What's next? Or rather...WHEN is the next one? Are you developing a quicker pattern now or is this just a tease?

ooh my 2 favorite things. The food court at POR and a quiet pool there. I was going to try CSR in March but now I think I may have to go back to POR.

Great update.
:thumbsup2

That was a nice afternoon! Sorry about those packets of detergent - I had that with a shampoo sample recently. Got in the shower, and with wet hands I could NOT get that sucker open without using my teeth, and then I got a taste of shampoo. Yuck.

The pool looks lovely, even if your kids ruined the quiet... :rotfl2: Just kidding, of course. ;)

That picture is slightly "kary".

Ohhhhh! Another update :yay:

Looks like you had a relaxing afternoon!

I love time spent at the pool.

and a big "awwwwwww" for the scary pic.

Poor little DD :grouphug:
