I called yesterday to book our DW trip for Jan 14-18. The CM was very helpful and asked me if I was planning a trip before the end of 2009. I said "no, I haven't thought about one"..... He said think about it.... you have a 40% off pin code attached to your name since August '09 good for any resort... no black out dates... The code expires Dec. 31, '09... so I can't use it for the Jan. trip. He was very sympathetic... he said at least you are on the list now and will be getting other codes!!!

Can you believe that...I didn't have any idea it was there!!!

If I had known this code was there... I more than likely would have booked a trip!!

IMO, you are lucky you got a CM who volunteered this information! Some wouldn't have bothered. I usually ask if I have a code attached to my name but not every person calling knows to do this. I wouldn't have if I hadn't gotten hooked reading here!!

^^^ A PIN is a discounted offer in the form of a numeric code that disney sends out either via email and/or snail mail. The code is attached to one name and it can only be used by the person receiving it. Typically the offer will describe the type of discount you would be getting (e.g., free dining, percentage discount on a package, kids eat stay free, money card with a specific amount, etc). Some people seem to get these offers quite frequently, others get them infrequently, and the rest never get them. Nobody has figured out the exact formula to follow in order to get on "The List" of names PINs are sent to. People suggest registering on the Disney websites and anything and everthing Disney.
