One time the Viagra commercial came on when my then 11yo and I were watching tv. He asked me about it (very vaguely) so I felt the need to tell him something (he was my innocent child), but I was off guard and didn't know what to say. I was pretty embarrassed and sputtered something about "it's for old men who have problems getting it up". I know, not exactly the right thing to say, but I hadn't exactly prepared a speech.
Then the disclaimer came on the commercial that the man should seek medical care if it lasts 6 hours or more (or however long it was) and my son son, "Mom, that's got to hurt. Mom, how would they even go to the bathroom?". I thought I was going to die and turned a thousand shades of red. He understood a lot more than I was giving him credit for. And I thought he was so innocent.
