We just got back today from WDW and I have a question that I've been meaning to ask.....Why do some of the rides stop occassionally? Like Spaceship Earth or the Buzz ride? I'm sure there is a reason, but I can't figure out what it would be. I know some rides stop towards the end to let people out of the vehicles in front of you, but these others have me baffled! :confused3 :confused3 Just curious!

Of course techincal difficulties is one reason. However, many times there may be a guest who needs assitance entering or exiting a ride vehicle. Particularly on the moving loaders. So, they'll have to stop a ride for that.

if a guest 'misbehaves' (usually this means standing up) they will stop the ride. that's never fun....i once got stuck under the waterfall part at the end of splash mountain for 10 minutes, not fun :(

I would think for a handicap guest.. I know my Dad would have problems getting on spaceship earth moving like it does... he has bad legs..

The most frequent reason is to let handicapped guests get on or off :smooth:
I think so too. I always notice it the most on Spaceship Earth.

On It's A Small World, the ride stops when another passenger is kidnapped by the dolls ;)
