Why do parents insist on bringing gifts when the invite says "No Gifts!"

Please explain the double entendre in that. If you think something is wrong with a SEVEN YEAR OLD having a sleep over with other SEVEN and SIX YEAR OLDS and having melted chocolate fondue then I have no reason to respond to anything else you post. Some people just have filthy sick sick minds.

Just scary.
Stop trying to act like you have no idea what everyone is talking about here. It really is ridiculous. Many people have pointed out your many threads that always have some double meaning that is meant to be eye catching. The feigned innocence act is getting old.

That's a good question.......:surfweb: I don't think that qualifies as an experience unless perhaps you built a bath in Bath.:teacher:

No, but I did break one.

Well, one of the bricks around it.

Being a klutz, I have a fair number of tales about destroying things (and body parts) in various foreign cities. Perhaps I should start a thread about them.

I've been dinged by the "don't bring a present" thing before. A few Christmases ago, my uncle's son came to the Christmas gift exchange for the first time. I was specifically told not to bring anything extra for him (we draw names and he wasn't part of the draw), because they didn't want him to feel that he had to bring something for everyone else.

Well, I was the only one who got the memo. Not only did everyone else bring something for him, he got he something (small, but still...). I still cringe about it.

Oh, c'mon. Just like you didn't have a clue that naming your thread, "Has your child been exposed to PeeWee Herman yet?" wasn't a double entrendre? ;)

Honestly, I think you're brilliant, ToC. This is great stuff! All I'm wondering about is where you're going with all this and what other names we might know you by. :)

That wasn't a yes/no question.

Anyhoo...I am almost always one of the few who decry dogpiling on a poster and usually rush in to defend said poster from the slings and arrows of others. However, my patience for you is wearing thin and I am beginning to think the dogpilers are on to something.

Yup. S/he was stirring up trouble on the Cruse Critic forums too. The thread where she says she was a TA was poofed but Google still has the cache.

Ahhh...penny dropped.

I assumed that she planned to go on cruises and testify to people (i.e. preach). Being a cruise specific travel agent and "testifying" ABOUT cruises makes more sense.

No it was not.

As posted in another thread. My child is slowly being exposed to things that were important in my Yewt. Schoolhouse rock, Electric Company, and now Pee Wee Herman.

My child has never been exposed to a professional baseball game because DP and I will never go to one.

My child has never been exposed to Houston's restaurant because we boycott it.

Some people choose to see filth when there is nothing there. There are people in the world who do not think like that.

And then there are sick sick now ignored people in the world who think there is some kind of double entendre in a child's first sleepover.

I bet.

How would you "expose" her to him?
He's no longer on tv-why in the world WOULD a parent do so-knowing what a sicko he is?:rolleyes1

Maybe because they don't think he's a sicko? I think he made a poor choice of venue, but it wasn't like he had a camera pointed to himself. I don't think he was trying to expose himself.
