Why Do I Suddenly Want A Ring? UPDATE POST 30

I am so sorry. I wish that it didn't turn out this way for you. Many hugs and prayers for you.

WOW...I sure would not have guessed that things would turn out this way. I am SOOO sorry. I know you are feeling just horrible right now. Cry it out and go get you a container of your favorite ice cream.

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

How awful!! I'm going through a break up right now too. Take it day by day and don't say or do anything you'll regret later even though it really hurts. :grouphug:

I'm so sorry! Do you think you may have seen this coming and that is why you wanted the ring? Sort of as a way to show you things are permanent and everything would be okay? Please understand that I'm not saying this to sound cold or anything like that but to help you look deeper into yourself to see if you have been thinking this would happen.

My heart is so sad for you right now. Keep your chin up and remember we are here for you!!!

I understand what you are saying, but I don't think so. The decision he made hurt me so deply, I can't even explain it.

I'm glad you understood what I was trying to say. Sometimes things make sense in my head but get messed up when they come out. I truly am sorry for you and wish I could do something to help you through.

As someone who just got divorced after a 15+ year marriage to a cheater I feel your pain. Even a ring can't buy longevity in a relationship!!!         to you! I feel your pain!

  I am so sorry you are going through this. Married or not, the pain is the same. Just keep your chin up and know that better days will come around.

Also, I suggest contacting a divorce lawyer asap just to ask where you stand. Living together, owning property together for 15 years might have some legal bearing for a common law marriage and you may be entitled to some spousal benefits.

Promise rings mean the promise to marry...if you both don't want marriage there really isn't a point to the ring.
If you are seeking more confidence in your relationship a ring won't help you at all. First of all you run the risk that he will assume marriage is now on your mind because you have the desire for a ring.
Has he done anything that gives you the reason to not trust him?
Do you truly believe all his female friends are "just friends"?
Do you need him to say "no" to the ring so you have a reason to leave the relationship?

There has to be a major reason why you have had this change of heart?

Just know that we're all here anytime you need to vent, that it does help to get it out, and brighter days are ahead.

And cutting the armpits out of all of their shirts does make you feel better despite what my divorce attorney says.

OP,

In the event your BF is still reading this thread I hope you two can work thru this. Fifteen years is alot of time to be in a relationship. I think counseling might help determine if this can be saved.

In any case, to you.
