I've been trying to figure this out for the past few months and I just can't wrap my mind around why I detest this woman so much. She's intelligent, strong, knows the job.....what is my problem.
I know I'm not the only one that has these feelings, but I just can't get my mind around what it is about her that I hate. I'm totally pulling for the democrats, I'm anti-Bush, I'm no republican....but I think I'd vote Republican if she gets the nomination. I love Obama and think he would do a great job but I'd be fine with Edwards also, just not with Hillary. :confused3

It may be that instead of a heart she has a lump of coal... Or was that the grinch?

It's probably the head bands she used to wear all the time..;)

I am a Republican so I dont agree with her on a lot of her issues but with that said there is something I dont like about her either. She doesnt look like a person I could trust. She seems power hungry, and I know politicians need to be this way, there is something about hers that is unsetteling. I also lost a lot of respect for her during the Monica Lewinsky thing. I know many have different takes on this but mine is once he, meaning a husband cheats he is gone, he has violated a basic trust of the marriage. So the fact that she stayed with Bill, does not sit well with me. Some say "oh look we shouldnt criticize bc she is trying to save or work on her marriage" Nope I see her staying with him for all the wrong reasons and esp since Monica wasnt the first. I would have had oogles more respect if she had left him and his wandering eye.

So there is my take, whether people agree or not. I just dont like her at all.

Maybe you just don't like her.:confused3 Sometimes it's that simple. There are people I know that I just don't like.

Oh, and I don't mean that to be snarky. I'd vote for her.:thumbsup2

I don't know why you dislike her so much either. She always came across as a nice person to me so I can't help with any ideas. Some have said that they dislike her because of Bill's philandering and how she handled it but I find that even more puzzling.

But to each their own. If I was going strictly for likability, I'd probably be all over Obama. But right now I'm undecided with a bit of a lean towards Edwards. (By the way, he has a really nice wife. ;) )

I hate that she stayed with a man who so obviously had no respect for her.

But I wouldn't vote against her because of that. Especially since I also like that they were able to work it out and stay together. Though at the same time, I respect her less for it? Wow I am confused! lol

I don't know, maybe it's ideas the media have planted about her ("She's cold", "she's calculating"). I've never met her, but know people who have and they describe her as warm and approachable. As for calculating, I don't think anyone gets to the WH by being "spotaneous". They are all calculating.

That's just one take, but what do I know :)

However, I hope this time people go deeper than the candidates personalities and charisma to cast their votes. So many people voted for Bush because of his "charisma" (I never saw it, but whatever), and because he "seemed a guy you could have a beer with" Oh, really? how did they know that? Like there was a chance in....for that to happen. (OP, I'm no saying you thought that way, I have no idea who you voted for and why :) )

I hope we don't make the mistake again of voting for "charm and charisma" Theres too much at stake to base a vote on that

I don't know why you hate her. I know why I do. It is more of feeling like I am being manipulated.
I remember that her "issue" when she was the First Lady was healthcare. And we all saw how that went. So why should I believe her that what she says she will do - she can do?
I believe she came to NY with her eye on the White House. She felt confident in the South and thought she needed to firm up the NE.

That's my issue with her. But that being said if it were Her vs. Huckabee- She would be getting my vote. (begrudgingly) Oh and yeah it would be fun to have Bill back in the White House!

I don't hate Hillary. I do see Bill and Hillary as a twofer. They've already been president. I want the next president to be one person who's open to change, who has fresh ideas, and who is enthusiastic about the future.

Some people just rub us the wrong way. Sometimes it's as small as that person reminds you of the nuisance girl you sat next to in elementary school or sometimes it's because something about them convicts or makes you feel uncomfortable.

.... on the OTHER HAND....

Surprisingly I don't dislike ANYONE in the race for the first time in my life!! I actually like to border LOVE some of them!! :lmao: I even have a mad crush on two of the Republicans!!! :scared1: Sorry, Mom!! I think she just turned over in her grave!

The weird thing is, I'd vote for Bill Clinton again in a heartbeat. Not that I approve of his cheating, I just think that's his own private business. I personally don't want to know who my President is having sex with. Oh heck, I don't even want to think about them naked. eeeeek:scared1: Their business, not mine.
But Hillary, nope, just plain hate her!

Do you really think she felt comfortable about the South? They seem to vote Republican as a bloc. I know that Texas always does.

I think a lot of it is how the media portrays her. They've realized there's a significant bunch of Hilary-haters out there and they play to those viewer's feelings. Also, there's the instinctive sense most people have that a woman who is strong and smart must, out of necessity, be something of a witch. It's not a true statement, and it feeds the double standard that already exists between male and female politicians, but there you have it.

Personally, my problem with her is not the way she comes off but the fact that she let Bill get away with all the stuff he did. You want to talk double standards? What would we think of a male politician whose wife was known to have cheated on him...likely repeatedly? That's right, we wouldn't give him any respect, and I certainly am not going to trust the running of my country to someone who couldn't control her own husband.

I think she tries too hard to appear tough and unemotional in order to compete with the men. Like she's trying to show the world that SHE wears the pants, she just lets Bill parade around in them every once in awhile. ;)

Anyway, that's the vibe I get.

When I heard the beer thing with Bush, I was like--I don't want him drinking beer, I want him running the country! lol

I don't like her either, but I love listening to Bill speak as I think he's very charismatic. I think it's one of those damned if you do damned if you don't situations because she's a woman.

If she was less 'cold' and 'softer' people would think she wasn't strong enough to be president. If she appears strong and shows conviction, she's cold hearted and a witch. There's something about her that bugs me too, but I think she's in a tough place.

But I think you could apply this to Bill too. Maybe not the "I'll have a beer with him" charm but there were plenty of people who voted for him bc of his charm and charisma too.

And I dont think the media has planted seeds about her being cold and calculating I think she has done that herself with some of her own speeches. I think the media paints her as a strong woman but is a bit of a media darling too.

I believe it was Bill Maher who said "You don't want the guy who you want to drink the beer with to be President, you want the designated driver!!" :thumbsup2
