Why do I get a 40% off code when I can't go?

New to DIS here. My DBF and I were planning to go last August, but I became ill and spent the summer and fall in between hospitals and my bed so we canceled our trip.

We are now starting to re-group and hope to go this year.

Can someone please explain what these codes are and how you get them? It seems that it is random but do you sign up for some kind of mailing list?

We are both college students paying our own way but want to go to celebrate our 6 year anniversary so something like 35% off value would be phenomenal. I know Disney is offering 25% off for some dates right now.

Our travel dates are flexible if that matters.

I don't ever remember getting a code. They sent me an email with the code.
I do belong to the Disney Movie rewards site, I follow other links on Disney that are posted, I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

Is Disney trying to torture me?

I got that same code and seriously, this is the first time EVER that I have been able to use it. In years past I was in the same boat... no codes ever worked with our dates.

Oh I get discount codes sent to me all of the time--it would help if we were the Morrison family, which we are not. I have no idea why I am getting their codes sent to my email address (I've had the same email for years and years). I have tried to use them, but since we are not the Morrison family and cannot verify their address, they won't let me use them.

I feel your pain ! Since I teach, I can only go in the summer, which I don't think I'll ever see a pin code for.......oh well, a girl can dream ! However, I did get the 4/3 deal back in July '09.........guess I can't complain !

I got the same code...but unless they would give me 40% off airfare and tickets, too, I can't afford it!!

And 40% off of food and dining. yep - if it was 40% off across the board - I would grace them with my presence. Might even let the kiddo miss school for it.
