Why did we plan out this entire trip?! A 2nd Honeymoon Report...sorta.The End. 5/21

Hi kat, just found this, trying to get caught up on trip reports. I haven't been over here in forever.

Sorry about the dining plan, but it sounds like you made the best of it.

Glad you got to spend sometime with your BFF.

KC took some awesome pictures:thumbsup2 Can't wait to hear about the Disney Dollar Store;)

He did do a good job!

Hey Kat!

I just loved the last 2 updates! How fun was that? You got in some great time with friends, were able to experience Disney through the eyes of a child, and finished it up with some lovey-dovey couple time at the MK! :thumbsup2

K.C. did a fabulous job with the Castle photos... and I must remember to get pix of those character statues, I always forget!

Kathy

One of the main reasons I had him take the pics was because I always say we should take pics of all those hub statues , and we never do!

Lovely photos Kat and OMG if that krispy cake was only $12 you should have got it as that size were $50 during our trip :faint:

Wow, you can see the pics? I must have remembered the price as being so low because of the CM discount, I started seeing everything with a half off sign in my head!

I had no idea you made another trip! I just happened upon this while browsing the DIS trying to avoid housework. I'm so glad I found it. Sounds like a great trip so far other than the dining plan dilemma.

How lovely that you had the opportunity for a "second honeymoon" and vow renewal as well. I'm so glad you found your way through a rough patch. :goodvibes

Looking forward to more! popcorn::

HI!! Great to see you! Thanks so much fro catching up and reading along!

Great Updates Kat !!!! I loved the Halloween decoration in September too !!!

Thanks! Disney does holidays best!

Yay for your vow renewal!!!:hug::love::cloud9:

Glad you got to spend it with friends!

is andy, Pants? I recognize him.

Yep- Pants =Andy!

Disney makes the feet thing better tho, I swear at home he'd have been in much worse of a mood! :)

I recognized the other 2 as well!

Disney makes everything less painful....

Thanks again for sharing your vow renewal weekend!

It sounds like you had a really fun day with your BFF! And MK was the perfect ending to the day! I love the pic KC got of the partner statue with the castle in the background! :lovestruc

I ahve to say my little camera takes a darn decent picture!

So I found our original itinerary in a google document…this is what it said for today:

Tues Nov 3
AK Morning.
Yak & Yati Lunch 12:30pm
Cast Connection for shopping? or Disney Quest?
Watch Wishes from The Poly Beach. Narcoossee’s 8:55pm

Not so much what happened. EVERYTHING got moved around due to the lack of table service credits.

We got up about 9am. I made some coffee in the room. I had brought some Gevalia Chocolate raspberry with me, and drank it the whole trip. I had my BFF bring me some bottled water so it tasted like coffee. We ate our random leftovers for breakfast that morning.

2636873730070748021S600x600Q85.jpg

The school bread, some carrot cake, some pretzel and the bread pudding.
Nothing like having a fridge! Oh and KC drank one of the many drinks we got with our breakfast credits.

We decided today was the day to head to the place I was most looking fwd to this trip…Cast Connection!

I had a general idea where it was (behind the Contemporary somewhere) but had no idea how to get there. So after we showered and dressed we headed to the front desk to find out. I asked a CM at concierge and she drew me some crazy map that was so not making sense! I asked her if when we got in a cab would the drivers just know where to go, she assured me they would. So off we went to the cab stand to catch an overpriced cab!

Well the driver had no clue where we were going, even with an address, a bad map and a general idea. It’s at CM parking, how do the drivers who drive all over Disney property not know this, I have no clue. So eventually we figured it out, by no help of the driver.

We went to the first store and played in there for a good while. We ended up spending about $50 there. I forgot my extra CM discount holiday coupon but still the stuff was a steal! My fav thing we found was a framed art piece with 4 coins of all the parks and a pic of the fab 4 watching fireworks. It was there because it was Epcot with the wand, like I cared!

I knew the damages trailer was there too and it was right next door! That was so much fun, I could have stayed there all day! Everything is 75% off, and some of the stuff is for the silliest reasons! When we went to the door the CM there asked for my ID and CM pass and also asked for KC’s ID because he is on my CM pass. In we went.

I think we stayed over an hour here rummaging through stuff. KC found a Jack scarf he wanted and it had a tiny hole in it, I found a sweatshirt I had been eyeing and it had an inch long hole in the seam of it, so I nabbed that fast! We also found out the lost and found is there too, so we ended up finding a small camera bag with a long removable handle. I needed it because the smaller camera bag I brough with me didn’t have the strap…so for a mere $2 I got one! We spent about $40 there. Realize how much that would be with another 75% tacked on!

When we got to the register, after being there for an hour shopping, the CM ringing us up says to KC “You’re a CM too?” and when we said no she said “Well you can’t be in here!”. She was really rude about it. We both stared at her because we were leaving as soon as she rang me up and it was a bit late to care. I told her they checked our IDs at the door but she was adamant. Whatever. Another case of CM rudeness to another. Thanks for nothing.
We left after that, because we were done. So weird. Here’s the loot we ended up with….

2470374970070748021S600x600Q85.jpg

KC got the potato head for his desk, the brown sweatshirt is mine, as is the coral colored Alice tee. KC got several tee shirts, we found 2 Christmas ornaments and I got the Jack flip flops. And my mickey head cookie cutter! I also got one other thing not in the picture. In anticipation of Secret Santa Gifts on the TFW thread I got something for whomever I got this year…turned out we didn’t do it so I kept them….Lime Green Mickey Ears!

So when we left the buildings we had no idea where tog et a cab from, so we went across the lot and went to the Disney University Building. It was cool to go over there too. We asked at the deak for a # and waited there for our cab. Rather than spend another $20 to get back to POFQ we decided to go to the Contemporary. Even that cost us $10!!!! From there we hopped a bus to DTD. One pulled up as soona s we got there, so it was all good. Let’s remember we are used to public transportation because we take the subway everywhere.

We did a bit of shopping at DTD. We got Mickey Head Crispie Treats for ourselves and for Dan, the friend who drove us to and from the airport. Then we hopped the bus back with all our many bags of loot!

I took a bunch of pics on the ride and walk back to the room from the boat dock.

I so wanna stay in one of these!!!!! So awesome! I remember when they had just torn them down, we have seen the progression since, very cool.

We dropped off our bags and went in search of some grub. Obviously the ADR we had at Yak & Yeti was a no go. Too bad I really wanted to try there! Next time, right? We went to the food court. I stomach was calling for a muffaletta sandwich! So that’s what I got, with a side of pasta salad and for my dessert I got Benigets! I was really excited to know that they were considered part of a meal credit. I got all that plus a drink for one credit! KC got a taco salad and a cupcake and milk.

I almost forgot the food porn so he is holding the salad shell together, lol! He said it was ok, nothing to write home about, but it did the trick because we were hungry! We brought the desserts back to the room so we could relax for a while.

I gave KC one of my beignets and I thought it was funny that he got powdered sugar on his beard..so of course I took a picture…

2255507310070748021S600x600Q85.jpg

He asked if he could have the rest, so I said sure…and this is what happened…

2183051600070748021S600x600Q85.jpg

He’s very special. He proceeded to twitpic some pics of himself “sniffing” the powdered sugar. He’s never dull, I’ll say that for him.

OH and we had left our Ninja stuffed guy in a strategic spot to see if mousekeeping moved him again…but she didn’t, he was still hanging around when we got back to the room that afternoon.

We considered heading into a park for a bit, maybe AK just to ride Everest, but decided it was destined to be a non park day and we could get ready for our evening at a leisurely pace, and thats just what we did.

Next up…our romantic evening, the one that actually happened as planned!

Wow, you can see the pics?
Well I could, I can't in your latest installment :rotfl2: Your bargains sound great and hopefully I'll be able to see them soon, sorry about the rude CM though what is with that????

Told you your could get some great deals if you are willing to look. And that lasy was full of carp! I go there ALL the time with my mother, she just pays for everything!

Loved the BARGAINS!! KC is adorable in sugar:lmao::lmao:

LOL it's his look!

Great bargains!

It was FUN to shop!

Yea I was annoyed but tried not to let it bother me, as was the theme of the trip. LOL.

So we were getting ready for our evening out. It was the one evening that actually went as planned!

The meal we both wanted the most on this trip was Narcoossee’s. We both talk of the time (on our 1st anniv) that we ate there and have wanted to go back ever since. So when planning we knew it was a must do! Due to all the mess ups with the DDP I didn’t know if we would really do it, but we both decided to go without other meals just to have this one. PLUS I have a 50% coupon we could use!

So we got all spiffed up for our date night out in WDW. On the way to the buses we stopped and took some pics.

Our ADR wasn’t until 8:55pm so we had lots of time. We had a stop to make first…at The Poly. I love me The Poly. I have to go there at least once a trip, just to soak up the awesome relaxed atmosphere. And I LOVE that they have PP people there now too…so of course on the way in we stopped…

2189909890070748021S600x600Q85.jpg

So you remember that KC’s feet had been killing him, and we bought insoles to wear, that were sort of helping? Well he was fed up. We had hoped to find something for him at Cast Connection but we didn’t. So he decided to break down and buy……

Some Crocs!

You have no idea how anti-croc he is, and anti flip-flop too. And what did he end up getting, crocs flip flops! But he can’t deny the comfort! He was thrilled to have some foot relief.

Shoes changed, we headed out to the beach to make romantic moments happen! We grabbed some lounge chairs and plopped on down in the sand and took off said shoes.

2654875310070748021S600x600Q85.jpg

It was actually getting chilly; luckily I had a sweater and a KC, who runs warm even on a freezing day. So we ended up sharing a lounge chair to cuddle and be warm.

I dug my chilly feets in the sand and cuddled with my husband, it was pure bliss.
2558237820070748021S600x600Q85.jpg

And then the fireworks started. It really was an awesome moment. I took a few pictures but they seemed to not be coming out too great so I ditched the camera for cuddling and just enjoyed the moment.

2737316890070748021S600x600Q85.jpg

After Wishes we chilled out (literally) on some chairs and changed into our nicer shoes (we both had the flip flops on) and got ready to head to the GF. Walking was out because it was too cold, so we monorailed it.

2782663070070748021S600x600Q85.jpg

We waited a few minutes to be seated but the restaurant was nice and quiet, like I hoped. We got a nice seat toward the back and across from the windows. We had a really nice waitress. It always baffles them when you say you are a CM but not from FL, I have no idea why. She was really nice tho and took good care of us.

She took our pic at some point before the food came…
2937582280070748021S600x600Q85.jpg

This meal was everything we remembered it to be. Even the butter with sea salt was good! We both ordered the surf & turf. I tried to order something else so we could share, and save some $, but it was what I really wanted so we decided to throw budget to the wind for one night and both got our own!

2165378040070748021S600x600Q85.jpg

God was it good! The lobster was buttery and the filet was sooooo tender. Amazing.

We opted out of dessert, but those dinner plates were empty when we left. The total, with the 50% coupon was $90. More than we usually spend anywhere but it was worth every mouthful!

We took a stroll around the grounds of the GF and eventually headed to the buses and caught one to DTD. Then we got the bus back to POFQ since it was too late for the boats and too cold too.

We got ready for the next day, packed up a little bit and got organized and were in bed around 1am.

It was one of my favorite nights in WDW ever. It’s up there with only 2 other nights we have spent there that were equally romantic. This was a night we earned after the long messy year we had. It was so nice to just enjoy each other.

Next up…Will I get my only real wish for this trip???

Sounds like a wonderful evening !!! Narcosses is on my LIST to do one day !!! I want me the WHOLE lobster !!!

Lovely evening. We love Narcoossee's but I have a feeling we won't be back until Jimmy is a bit older!

Hey Kat,
I enjoyed your vow renewal. It amazes me how easily you accept your transportation in NYC. My dh would freak out using subways, taxi's etc.,
I tried to see why some pictures were not working, but I didn't find any extra http's, so I don't know what is wrong. But your pictures are really nice.

Then back to your WDW TR, I never heard of the resturant at the Grand Floridian, Narcoose (sp?). Wow, I'm sure if you are on the dining plan, it is 2 TB credits.

What are you doing now, that the Disney store closed.

Yep :thumbsup2

The whole evening sounds wonderful Kat :goodvibes

It really was a great night I will remember for a long time.

Yum! I love lobster!

Lovely evening. We love Narcoossee's but I have a feeling we won't be back until Jimmy is a bit older!

I have seen plenty of kids there, I actually think it's pretty mellow for a semi fancy place.
