We were up at about 7am. We decided to use some of those
MANY QS dining credits for breakfasts. No food porn, we didnt bring the camera up to the food court. I know KC got an adult platter and I had the fruit pancakes. I remember because KC thought I was asking what I should get, not what we should share, and he told me once we got to the table that he didnt want the pancakes. LOL. We took our extra drinks (you get 2 full size drinks EACH) back to our fridge for later. I'm not complaining about having the drinks, but ti seems silly, just offer us some fruit as an option instead or something.
We had company coming today! My best friend, L and her daughter H and husband M were coming! We just saw them about a month before in NY but I hadnt seen her in years prior to 4 years ago so we had making up to do!
AND M is very anti Disney! I know!!! So I had plans to convert him. I figured if anyone can convert someone to Disney its me and KC. Plus L & H have resident passes and love it as much as I do (because of me BTW).
They arrived on property around 9:30am. We met then at the parking lot of POFQ and took them back to show them the room. We hung out for a little bit and discussed what to do first. One of the only reasons M came was because I could get him in for free as a CM, so we tired to make the plans around him as well. He had very few requests. He wanted to ride Star Tours and TOT. So off to DHS we went.
I informed him before we left that he would be in some pictures, if he liked it or not. He had been warned. So as soon as we were through the turnstiles I stopped at a PP photographer. He didnt like it, but he was in the pictures!
The CM had a good time with us tho, so it was funny. We were headed towards TOT first. I have ridden it before and did NOT like it, so I sat that one out. The rest of the gang went and I wandered the shops and sat on a bench and people watched. KC had never ridden it before and we both knew hed hate it. He hates the dropping feeling, but he went anyways. Needless to say I cant post the video because he said some un Disney things while on the ride. But my user on
YouTube is TinkyKat and it's posted there.
Some pics instead
.
H getting geared up to ride.
Why am I going on this ride?
I love this kid, she cracks me up
CM who scared my friend L by sneaking up on her.
They are front row, left. LOL. Poor KC.
We made a stop in the villains shop and I used my CM discount to get M a jersey he really wanted. Then we were walking our way back towards Star Tours. We saw that the 11:30 Indy Stunt show was letting in, so we headed on in. I hadnt seen it since I was about 18 and KC had never seen it. We got decent seats too.
I was trying to capture how excited H was. She was so into it. I LOVE seeing Disney through the eyes of a kid. It makes it that much better of an experience. She is the most fun kid too, we have such a great time with her.
We all enjoyed the show a lot. It was nice to sit and relax and just enjoy it. The non planning was oddly easy.
I stopped after the show to use one of my free popcorn coupons and we strolled our way over to The Muppets ride. M had wanted to check it out as well, so into the big queue room we went.
I asked KC to take some pictures of random stuff but they all came out too dark. I hadnt done this one in at least a few trips so it was def fun to see again. Now we knew that the furry guy at the end came out into the theater (What the hecks his name?) but L & M didnt. They were both like little kids when he came out, pointing and giggling. I knew at that moment we had hooked M and that we would be good to go for the rest of the day!
We left Muppets smiling, and went straight to Star Tours. KC opted to sit out, he wasnt over the dropping feeling of TOT and didnt want to chance feeling funky on STs. I have never been on it before this, so I was a bit nervous. We walked right in, barely a wait. I sat with M and we had a grand old time laughing and giggling through it. He enjoyed it. I had fun too.
M also
WANTED a pic here so we snapped away!
When we came out into the dump shop, where we were meeting KC, he was on the phone. He told us to give him a minute so we shopped around and I bought KC a silly thing he always said he wanted to try, astronaut ice cream. It was ok. We all tried some. Kind of like an antacid but better tasting.
When he got off the phone he had a whopper of a story to tell us. It was his brother calling from NY. He told KC congrats you are an uncle and he got all excited thinking his brothers girlfriend was pregnant. Until he told KC Yep, shes 6. WHAT!? He never knew about her and the girl finally decided to let him in on the fact that he had a kid he had no idea existed. So that stemmed a lot of convos for a while, and a few "baby mama" jokes. Just an FYI, we met her once we got back but now the mother is being strange and not letting his brother see his kid. They are in the middle of court dates so he can get visitation of her. She turned 7 in November and we never got to give her the gifts we got.
Anyway
The lines for GMR and TSM were too long and there wasnt anything else of interest to M in DHS, so we convinced him to head to Epcot. He was against the MK still (fine, whatever) but we convinced him he would like Epcot. H was in her glory having her daddy with her in Disney, so he was hard pressed to say no to her.
We took the boats from DHS to Epcot. When we got on the driver of the boat had this duck
IN HIS HANDS. He was feeding it. It ended up staying on the front of the boat the whole way over because the guy was feeding it. We called him the duck wrangler!
Since we came in the gateway we decided just to hit up the world showcase first. We went to France in search of some food. I didnt think they did a QS meal in the bakery there, but KC asked and it turns out they do!
We got a ham and cheese croissant, chocolate mousse and a large drink for one credit. The éclair was for H.
I love that Sammie! So good. Not enough for us to be full but we figured we could share something else, god knows we had enough credits.
We were all hungry actually. So we decided to eat in Morocco. KC and I used some of our QS credits for lunch for everyone.
I had my beloved and always craved, schwarma platter.
Everyone enjoyed the food, we shared all around. The baklava was particularly good that day too!
We wandered our way over to Japan. M was most excited to see this country, hes huge into Japanese stuff. I took some pictures and we all wandered the shop. Dont you just LOVE this shop. I can play in there forever! We just missed the candy lady, so that was out, but KC obliged with his really awesome impression of her. Cracks me up every time because he really sounds like her. I have to get him to record it one day.
My fav hidden mickey!
We did stop for some plum wine in the back of the store. L bought for us both, I even got the plum (which I gave to KC). We picked up a set of chop sticks for Pants while we were there as well.
We made a quick stop at the New Orleans F&W booth for some Bread Pudding. We all had a taste and LOVED it. I remembered liking it the year before as well.
KC and I originally had a reservation at Boma that night, at 6:45pm. We had invited L & Fam along but M didnt really think hed like anything on the menu, so we were going to part ways before that. BUT we had so much fun we decided not to go to the ressie. It was the one dinner I really wanted, but spending time with my BFF is much better than Boma, even if it is my fav dinner on property.
So further into the showcase we went and at some point KC and I told them we were abandoning our plans and we wanted to hang with them for a while more. We hit up Germany. We were very excited to go to one of the stores because it is the same name as M. So we took pics under the store sign for him.
We stopped to check out the train village too. I love this! It always makes me think of my Austrian Grandpa and how we had a train village under our Christmas tree every year when I was a kid. Then we noticed something funny
the village was being over run with giant lizards
.ok giant to the small size of the people In the village.
See the lizard crawling up the house?
There were even some lizards riding the train too!
I never noticed this scene before, and thought it befitting our 2nd honeymoon trip.
Another drama had been brewing in the form of KCs new sneakers
KILLING his feet. He always swears he will be fine, but this time they were hurting him, a lot. We stopped a lot because they hurt. We tried everything to make them feel better. He also only had these shoes to wear, so it was an issue. So we asked our friends to take us to Wallmart that evening so we could get some insoles or something for KC. My feet werent doing that great either, even tho I had different shoes, my feet were just not used to all the walking.
KC sat out of Malestrom so he could rest his feet, that and finish the Peach Snap we had gotten when we walked past China. Note:thats Peach Snap #2 this trip. So the rest of us went on. When we got off the ride, we were actually trapped waiting for the movie to end! That never happened to me before! We plopped on the bench to wait.
We made the trek to the busses and headed back to POFQ to get their car and head to the heavenly place that is Wallmart.
Next up
A late night with Pirates, Ghosts and Complainers.
