Why did it take me so long to start watching The Office?

All I can say about the season finale is WOW!

Holy Cow!

In case all you TIVOers haven't seen it I won't say anything except:

Jan with her overnight bag and open relationship. ;)

And JIM AND PAM!!!!

What was Pam saying to her mom at the end of the call?

I only caught the last 10 minutes and I was still screaming out LOUD at the end.

Ricky Gervais who originally wrote The Office has a series out called 'extras' about the extras on film sets with bit parts by Samuel L Jackson, Kate Winslet etc, has that reached the US yet?

I think Extra is on HBO

I agree that the Office has found its groove, when I watched the pilot episode I dismissed it, it just didn't compare to the brilliant original. Now I have caught a few episodes this season and I think it holds its own very well.

Season Finale was very good!!

I loved last night's episode! I didn't catch everything Pam was saying, but I it sounded like maybe her mother asked her if she is in love with Jim, because Pam said something like, "I think I am."

After that finale where are they gonna go from there??

Its was very good though.

WOW!!! I absolutely LOVE this show and cried last night. Big sap I am. What a way to end it!!!

What am I going to do until the season starts up next year??? The wait is going to kill me!!

JMO...but I think the relationship between Pam and Jim seems so realistic. When he walked in the office and **** don't want to spoil it**** I think I fell in love with him!!!

I actually had tears running down my face.

This is truly one of the best series in a loooong time.

When this first came out, I watched the pilot and hated it. I was determined to hate it since I was born in Scranton and it was making fun of an office in Scranton. The fact that my siblings who have moved away from here would bring it up at every holiday meal, laughing about how it was SO Scranton. I had to hate it.

Then I watched more than just the pilot. OMG! How funny is this show!?!

I actually know the woman who manages Scranton Travel. When Michael went there to see if he could get a trip that would have a free bus, with a free overnight stay in Atlantic City and starter money, I thought I'd die! Later in that show, he was sitting in his car with the brochure for the Lackawanna Coal Mine Tour and he was asking if the 300 foot drop into the mine was exciting. When he found out that it wasn't a free fall into the mine, he asked what you did once you got there and asked something about why would people want to do this then?

Then there was the night in the middle of winter when they were sailing on Lake Wallenpaupack! This is a lake that a few of my friends have cottages on the lake and I've sailed that lake for a long time now. Very funny, but knowing the dinner cruise boat that they were supposed to be on made it even funnier.

Now, I like the show, not only because it is hysterical, but also because they are supposedly in Scranton.

The thing I noticed last night was the Successories print that was hanging on the wall. I know of SO many offices in the Scranton area that have these hanging in them. My boss is very proud of the one he has in his office about communication.

Ok I am :scared1: that noone has talked too much about the complaint episode of two weeks ago. While I loved last night, I had to pee 3 times during that 1/2 hour :rolleyes1. Just thinking of the jokes Jim pulled on Dwight and as someone mentioned Jim's facial expressions are priceless!! And the boxes upon boxes of complaints against Michael...OMG I could go on and on. I'm actually looking forward to the re-runs this summer.

I think the best scene this season was last night. NO ––*not THAT one (the big finale). I was on the floor laughing when Pam just looked at the camera ––*and held up that umbrella. No words, just the look on her face was priceless. :smooth:

Also loved last week when Jim raised his hand and said, "Dwight kissed me. I didn't say anything 'cause I didn't know how I felt about it." :lmao:

ETA: Found the exact line: "Dwight kissed me and I didn't report it because I'm not sure how I feel about it." :love2:

I can't believe I hadn't found this thread until now. I love The Office. I'm a total Jim/Pam shipper.

The finale was amazing. I thought Jim was going to tell Pam about the possible transfer when they were in the parking lot, not drop that bomb! I can't get too excited about Pam saying "I think I am" to her mom on the phone because her mom could very well have asked if she was still going through with the wedding or something.

Creed is hilarious. I had no idea he was actually in the Grass Roots until recently.

So glad to find other fans! I have been obsessing over this show since I found the British version . . . and didn't think I could ever love the American version as much. But Steve Carrell is so wonderful . . . he's no Ricky Gervais, but that's okay -- he is wonderfully unique in his own way.

In a sick way I feel like I know these characters on The Office. They are so real. Nobody over acts...It is all so natural.

I love Jim

Wow, didn't know there were Office fans here. I watched all of the British version two years ago, and I agree, I just loved the ending.

Took a while to get used to the US version, but it has gotten better. At first it was too much Michael. I love Carrell, but it was just too much of his character.

The characters are very well cast! I never thought there could be as good a dweeb as the British version has, but man Dwight is something else!! He's perfect, especially with the smug smirk. They're all like the kids you knew long ago, all grown up but still the same.

The best part of both shows is the realness of the characters. They're not glamorized at all. So good to see real-looking people on T.V., imperfections and all! Yay! Been waiting for this for years!! Jim is alittle too handsome, but I'll let them slide on that one I guess. ; )

I did watch that show. I think only 4 or 5 were shown - is that all there is so far? I love that girl in it. She's adorable! And it's funny to see her dressed so differently each time but being her usual self. It's had some pretty good scenes too. Kate Winslet's part was shockingly funny! Certainly can't watch that show around the kids.

The woman who plays Pam got a haircut from Jonathan Antin this season on Blow Out. One of the stipulations of her haircut was that it should look fabulous and glamorous when she was herself, but it needed to be dowdy for the show.

I totally agree!! I love the way they picked actors/actresses who look just like normal, everyday people. This show is the best show on TV!

Th expressions they show when they look right at the camera are priceless!

I really like Toby, but Michael is soooooooooooo mean to him. And I know there must be a Dwight in every office/classroom in the world! :rotfl2:

You're right. I didn't think about that!
