What are some reasons you would stay at AS MU over Pop. We've stayed at Pop and loved it, but hubby wants something different so he suggested music. I need some convincing... please help.

Thanks,
Gretchen

We've stayed at both. What's nice about Music is that it is smaller than Pop so you really are not that far away from the main hall. I've stayed all the way out in Country Fair and it wasn't more than 5 minutes to the front.

1. ASMu is much smaller than the Pop. So you have to fight less people for a seat on the bus, or a seat at the food court.

2. The rooms at the ASMu were recently redone, so they are fresher than those at the Pop.

3. At the ASMu the play games by the pool during the day, and show movies by the pool at night. I especially enjoyed the movies. It was great to end a long day with a swim and a Disney movie.:goodvibes

I've stayed at POP and ASMu. My answer to your question depends on what you plan to do while on vacation. We never go to the parks everyday so the pool is important to us. We absolutely love the pool at ASMu. They have music and games at the pool from 2pm-9pm. In the evening they show movies outside on a big screen.

Another perk to music is that it is the middle resort so if you are using the buses and you are on a shared bus there is only one extra stop.

We decided after staying at music that in future if we stayed there we would book a preferred room and get a rental car for the length of the trip. We use the refillable mugs so a preferred room would cut down on the coin toss for the drink run.

A huge selling point for us is the recently renovated rooms... we'll never return to Pop for this reason alone. Fantastic theming, design, and quality... looking back at Pop now... we can't help but laugh at the hideous comforter, dim lighting, stale walls, and overall lack luster feel :sad2:

ASMu is in fact smaller... about 1800 rooms vs. 2880 at Pop. The smaller size can be immediately sensed... but the common areas (pool/food court/etc) are also smaller... so everything seems to balance out. Bottom line: we felt it was less crowded... but question if it was in fact "less crowded: or just appeared that way.

The main pool hosts pool games/activites/music through out the day... as well as evening movies. This is a great plus for families and kids of all ages! They even have games geared towards adults... so don't be affraid to volunteer your hubby :rolleyes1

We had similar bus service here than at Pop... meaning we felt there was no difference in the idea of one resort vs. sharing with 3. At MK, DHS, and EPCOT, ASmu had it's own personal stop. Rarely did we share on our way to the parks, and buses came often. Waits were minimal.

We prefer the food court here... but our tastes are very simplistic and we often eat the parks... I do know many favor Pop in this regard... so check out the menus for both!

It's different strokes for different folks... but for us... ASmu will always be our first choice. We like Pop for certain reasons (kiddie pool, splash area, lake location, etc) and it's certainly a favorite on these boards... but there's no harm in trying something new! I was glad we did in fact... we found a new favorite!

We've been to Disney 4 times - stayed at Movies the first time, then tried POP for the 2nd trip - hit Music for the 3rd and 4th trip and have booked it (BB) for our next trip. Needless to say it's our favorite.

We really liked the smaller almost more cozy feel over POP. It's such a fun resort too with the pool games. For some reason - we loved the food court over POP as well.

I would vote give it a try you never know it might be your new favorite too.

of the values, AS Mu is our fav, especially for short stays the jazz bldgs are nice choice, room was nicely rennovated we had last July & nice, short walk to rental car. The food court was a bit of a hike;)

another good choice is standard room @ AS Mo, mighty ducks bldg. Easy to walk to both Mo food court & AS Mu bus stop, food court & pool even if u like.
