A huge selling point for us is the recently renovated rooms... we'll never return to Pop for this reason alone. Fantastic theming, design, and quality... looking back at Pop now... we can't help but laugh at the hideous comforter, dim lighting, stale walls, and overall lack luster feel
ASMu is in fact smaller... about 1800 rooms vs. 2880 at Pop. The smaller size can be immediately sensed... but the common areas (pool/food court/etc) are also smaller... so everything seems to balance out. Bottom line: we felt it was less crowded... but question if it was in fact "less crowded: or just appeared that way.
The main pool hosts pool games/activites/music through out the day... as well as evening movies. This is a great plus for families and kids of all ages! They even have games geared towards adults... so don't be affraid to volunteer your hubby
We had similar bus service here than at Pop... meaning we felt there was no difference in the idea of one resort vs. sharing with 3. At MK, DHS, and EPCOT, ASmu had it's own personal stop. Rarely did we share on our way to the parks, and buses came often. Waits were minimal.
We prefer the food court here... but our tastes are very simplistic and we often eat the parks... I do know many favor Pop in this regard... so check out the menus for both!
It's different strokes for different folks... but for us... ASmu will always be our first choice. We like Pop for certain reasons (kiddie pool, splash area, lake location, etc) and it's certainly a favorite on these boards... but there's no harm in trying something new! I was glad we did in fact... we found a new favorite!
