I just called to check availability for a campsite at Fort Wilderness for 9 nights beginning on December 19. The CM told me that there was no availability beginning on the 19th, but if I book starting on the 20th, then I can get 9 nights no problem. I said thanks and called back asking for one night on the 19th. CM says yes, they have a site. I then told her about wanting 9 nights and said that part of the reason I wanted to check in on 12/19 was that the rates were much lower, since my stay would begin during value season. She understood but told me that the system would not let her book for that many nights; in fact, it would only allow one night at that rate.
A couple of months ago when I was checking rates, the CM I spoke with actually encouraged me to check in on the 19th, saying that I would be able to get my whole stay at the value season rate. She used it as a selling point.
So what gives? Is there anything I can do at this point? I know it sounds cheap, but I am on a tight budget and the cost per night almost doubles if I check in on the 20th.
