Why can't I do this?

Short and sweet.

We have dining reserves we made through an agent and received all ocumentation. We have the dining plan and are booked for Hoop dee doo on a Thursday night. We want to move the reserves to the next night, and called and the next night is available.
The CSR said we would have to pay for the reservation in full. I said we have a package and are using points, so why can't we just move it to the new reservation (mind you, the original show in November is sold out, so it's not like they will be stuck).
CSR said we will have to pay in full and use the points in another restaurant.

Whave reserves for all the nights we are there and will be stuck,so why can't we just move them. I don't understand.

Please explain this to me if anyone can.

You need to call the agent through whom you booked and have that person change the reservation for you.

this is correct. If you booked through an agent, you are not the owner of the reservation, the agent is. Disney will deal only with the agent regarding that reservation.

Ask it the new reservation is a Category one as these are not covered under the DDP and you do have to pay

Are you trying to move your room res or the dining res? The room res you cant touch. The dining res you can. Id call back and book the new dining res and then cancel the old one

I got the impression that it was all connected to the room reservation.

If it is just the dining, maybe a previous poster is correct and only Category 1 seating at HDD is available, which wouldn't be covered by the dining plan.

cat 1 is covered at the 930 show. You had to have been talking to a new or incompetent CM
