One tactic at owning multiple resorts is the one we use.gmboy95 said:Yes you can combine your points or other people points...but only at the seven month window...in order to reserve at the 11 month window you must have enough points at that particular resort to cover your ressie.

Suffice it to say that the importance of that advice depends on when you travel, how far in advance you can commit to vacation dates, and how flexible you are with where you stay. I don't think it serves any new poster to advise BWYWTS or Buy the Cheapest/Most Years advice without knowing how important these factors are.
Yes - in fact, Disney will not sell you a different use year from your master unless you buy at least 150 more (enough for a new contract).U2FanHfx said:Hi All,
Something has been going around in my head and thought I should ask. If my contract makes it through ROFR, it has a June use year. If I then purchase and add-on for say Old Key West direct from Disney, will they allow me to make it June as well?

I have read in previous posts about people buying small contacts like 25 or 50 points. I thought that they were doing that in order to get into a resort at the 11 months window by using the 25 add on points at that particular resort. So you are saying that if I own SS and have 300 points but want to buy 25 points at BCV it really does not have any kind of benefit because you need 300 add on points at BCV to give you the 11 month window. So is there a benefit to buying a small contract at a second resort?

It can work great for trips every 2nd or 3rd year, especially if your large lot of points is somewhere else.
Also, it gives you a start since you can also add on or wait list to add another 25 pts later.
In my case, I own 5 contracts and am waitlisted for the 6th and plan to change one over soon to my daughter's name, so she will own her own 50 pt contract and that will start her membership so that she can take advantage of the DVC perks herself.
