Why are Skittles commercials so gross?

Skittles used to have perfectly normal commercials like this:

Now, it seems that they are trying to make the most disgusting commercials imaginable.

And don't get me started on that one that they intended for the superbowl that ended up banned! I guess that this disgusting advertising works because it has been around for a while, but it grosses me out and makes me NOT want to eat Skittles. Most of the teenage girls I have talked to have said the same thing. I'm guessing maybe they are marketing to teenage guys?

I hadn't seen those last 2. But I think you're at least partly right. They definitely look like they are targeted to males. Of just about any age.

I don't see see ANYONE thinking that would fly in the US (I know other countries have more relaxed standards).

I have no clue. All the other commercials are disgusting. I didn't figure they actually thought it would air, but could see them putting it together, calling it "banned" and still getting publicity for it.


But, back on topic, the commercials are nasty.
