Why are people so stupid??

This just happened in Ct. Leaving a dog in a car on a hot summer day can get you arrested up here. Unbelievable, where are these people's brains? I'm sorry to say this, but really, some people should not be having children. Things like this make me so angry.

Woman charged after baby left in hot car

(WTNH-Aug. 5, 2002 1:00 PM )_ Jolene Rodriquez is still awaiting her turn before the judge. New Haven police arrested her yesterday charging her with risk of injury to a minor.

According to New Haven police Rodriquez left her 4-month old baby in her car for 20-minutes while she went grocery shopping. It was 85-degrees outside yesterday but investigators say it was much hotter inside the car.

A passerby noticed the baby unattended outside the grocery store and noticed the car doors were unlocked. The good samaritan pulled the baby out of the car and called police.

Jolene Rodriquez was paged inside the store and when she came outside police arrested her.

When asked Jolene Rodriquez what happened, was this a mis-understanding?
She did not want to talk about it. Rodriquez was free on bond. It's unclear if DCF has custody of the baby or if a family member is watching the child.
The baby is said to be okay.

I know! It's not just stupid, it's retarded! People still leave their dogs in car. Even some of my friends told me, it's ok, it's not that hot. That's not the freaking point! The weather can change, and the dog is there helpless. My answer to them is, why don't you sit in the car with the dog, and I'll be back in an hour. See how you feel.

It's the same as ...I didn't drink much, I can drive.

You know what, I think these people should have their cars taken away from them. Just giving them a ticket or warning is never going to help.

This is what scares me.....she was caught leaving the baby in the car, (thank God for the passerby) but what other neglectful and irresponsible things has she done with that baby? It's so sad.

adamk, you should tell them yes it IS that hot! try sitting in there wearing a sweater, none the less!

i "treated" a dog who was left in a car. after this stupid act, the "owners" decided not to spend the money to try to save the dog, after we got to sit there doing NOTHING for 20 minutes while they decided to euthanize! :mad:
