If anyone has the patience to read through this and explain it to me, I appreciate it because the situation is still bothering me, and the response I got from DVC is bothering me as well.
I made a reservation for October 2024 for 35 points.
I have a September use year. In the below screen shots, the September Beach Club points are my points. They are borrowed from my September 2025 use year.
The Polynesian points were transferred in and then banked. So they were December 2022 use year points, banked into December 2023.
The Old Key West points were transferred in. They are October 2024 points. So they are the only current use year points.
You can see on these screen shots that I have chosen to use the order of contacts as:
1st Polynesian - 10 points
2nd Beach Club - 15 points
3rd Old Key West - 10 points

However, that is not the order points were taken when the reservation was confirmed.
On this screen shot, you can see none of the Polynesian points were taken. The 15 Beach Club points were used, then 20 Old Key West points were used.

This makes no sense to me because the Polynesian points are banked points that expire November 30, 2024. So they expire first.
I called DVC to try to get the points reallocated. First they told me that borrowed points are taken first, so they needed to "unborrow" the Beach Club points. That would be great... Except that didn't work.
So then, the woman I was speaking to told me they couldn't fix it. I asked her how I was supposed to use the Polynesian points, and her response was that I could use it for another reservation (***???). I pointed out that they expire at the end of November and I had no other trips planned.
She reluctantly said she would put in a request for technical services to try to fix it, and that I could continue to check my dashboard to see if I got the points back but that it would probably be a while because other people had vacations planned before me and their issues needed to be addressed first....
Then, what I felt added salt to my wound, I checked the reservation online and discovered that they did not "unborrow" my Beach Club points, they simply did not use them. So they left me with the worst possible scenario. They used all of the October 2024 current year OKW points, and none of the banked PVB points and none of the borrowed BCV points.
I waited about a week for member services to fix it. Nothing.
I finally figured out how to fix it myself by making a dummy reservation with all of the October 2024 OKW points except the 10 I needed for this reservation. Then, when I made this reservation, the system had to pull the Polynesian points. So I was able to get what I wanted - 10 Polynesian points, 15 Beach Club points, 10 Old Key West points.
I am still bothered though by the system doing this.
Is this a known glitch with transferred points? Does anyone know why it was refusing to pull the banked Polynesian points unless it was the only points available? Shouldn't banked and borrowed points be pulled first?
