WHY are DVC and Disney resorts closing

I just read that UW Covid team is going to use Hydroxychloroquin for all patients warranting hospital admission unless the side effects do not allow them to use it. Apparently, one of the more serious side effects of Hydroxychloroquin is it can cause problems with the heart rhythm in some people. (They are doing EKGs baseline and after--so, it is definitely something they are worried about).

If the HIV drug they're talking about is Prep, I hear it is quite expensive. If they find an effective drug, that already exists, they need to ramp up production and make it available at a reasonable price.

I don't know what is in Prep, but the one I heard about that was promising was remdesivir

People will only put up with this for so long, particularly when they state that the only one really at risk are us old people. Sure, some younger people can be affected, but that is the case with the flu, etc. More people die in car accidents. One just never knows.

I just the Italians did a survey and that 99% of dead infected by Corona had other illness' too. 75% of the dead had high blood presure and 35% had diabetes. The average age of those that died in Italy was 79.5. Before 3/17 only 17 people below 50 died of Corona.

He was just talking about NY obviously, but yes you would expect any age that has co-morbidities would be a higher risk.

Well I certainly hope that those of you suggesting that since a certain demographic isn't likely to experience serious complications or die, don't mean to imp!y that the rest of us are "disposable ", or that it is no big deal to get infected and spread the virus.

Ignoring CDC and other mitigation recommendations because one isn't likely to personally experience serious complications is very upsetting to those of us in the high-risk groups as well as those of us with loved ones in that group.

Just saw an article where the HIV antivirals combo showed no improvement during a 28 day trial in China, where 99 people received it and 100 people did not. The change was insignificant.

im sorry if the information came out wrong because that wasn’t the intention. All lives matters and everyone should do whatever they can to avoid getting infected and avoid infecting others. That’s also why it’s important to follow government instruction they are in place for a reason.

My neighbor lady is 86 and lives alone, and is in pretty poor general health. Her kids are "too busy" to look after her properly (you know the type) so several of us take meals over, leave them by her back door on a table she has there, and then call her to let her know. She would definitely not survive if she gets it. At least there are no confirmed cases in our country so far, but San Antonio, in the next county, has 25 cases as of this morning.
