thanks, maybe you are right.Other hotels don't have nearly as much cash on hand as Disney, so they are desperate to get a few more dollars in before being forced to shut down is my guess.
It is in Disney's interest to be open. The fact that they are not tells you volumes about the seriousness of this crisis. They are not going to shut down ⅔ of their company to screw a few DVC members.
Yes, actually. They should.Thanks guys.
I understand they want to avoid the liability and close the resorts. But for this to have any real affect on the spreading of the virus shouldn’t all hotels and resorts close In Orlando and other places for that matter.
While I do not agree with the OP, I do see his point and think he was treated a bit unfairly.
this will definitely have a negative impact on it because I think after all that is happening, and the potential for a crippling of brokers, language is going to have to be much stronger in contracts to include that resort closure does not void the contract,
You've been given several reasons in this thread but apparently you're just going to ignore those.
Absolutely not. Hysterical conspiracy theories should be dealt with the strongest possible reaction in a situation like this. It's irresponsible and dangerous.
agreed.
Not sure you’re actually reading his continued question.
It was a continued question about why other resorts are open. No hysteria in any of the posts.
It comes as no news that resorts are closing until EOM March.
Disney saw an opportunity to impact the rental marked by closing the resorts and claim it was done due to the virus.
OP started this thread on the premise of a conspiracy theory. See here:
Multiple posts followed with legitimate reasons as to why Disney closed, and why some other resorts have not closed... yet the question continued to be asked. The undertone of the "continued question" is that Disney didn't really need to close.
Whatever undertone you believe I have had is on you not me.
I raised a question why some resorts are closed when others are closed. I then stated a far fetched reason.
You then believe you have the right to shame me? That tells more about you than me.
Also, I believe the virus is bad, but it might not be as deadly as they say. I believe there are a lot more people with the virus who don't even know they have it or have had it and will never be tested. If we knew the true number. the death rate might even be lower the the yearly flu.
IMO it would make a lot more sense if all resorts and hotels closed due to corona.I think the bigger question is why aren't all hotels closing? Looking at Florida's response, it seems like lots of places are still open. But if we all want to take this seriously for public health reasons, why are they still open - not "Why is Disney closed?"
That would be a terrifying thought -- If the Government can order the closure of private businesses for any reason (pandemics included)
