Why are brokers selling so many stripped contracts? Just saw BCV - 250 points coming on 2/1/23 and 2/1/24

They could have done that. Then the points would be converted to reservation points and they could sell the contract.

Not sure that is true. The fact they were converted doesn’t change them being attached to the membership. I don’t think you can sell with those reservations either.

Could they do it if they still had a different DVC contract and so remained members?

No because the points used are still attached to the contract, Say they canceled the cruise, where would the points now go if there was no longer a contract owned?

Now one thing I do not know is if someone can transfer points and use for a cruise, but even if that case, once transferred, contracts can be sold because the points actually leave and at that point, are no longer owned by the original owner as they are in another account.

Ah gotcha—I was under the impression once they became reservations points they left the contract since you can no longer use them for a DVC resort or bank or borrow them, but it sounds like they are in a kind of in-between status instead.
