Why am I the only person in our house that is excited about our holiday(nervous about flight though). I have been like this since last year when it was booked, I keep getting this overwhelming rush of happiness and its been ten fold since finding this site!! DH and DS do not have these feelings?????
DH says when the time comes he will be excited but its too soon now and DS thinks I'm sad!!!!
I keep giving them random facts about Florida and the parks, restaurants etc (slipping them into conversations that have nothing to do with Florida!)
People I work with are sick of hearing how many days, hours etc!!
Is anyone else like this? Is this normal?

Perfectly normal in my eyes, dont worry lol, I have been like that since I booked mine months ago and I have another 6 months to go yet ;)

it's very normal for some people (us), but i suggest you keep your excitement to this board (and not bore your colleagues and family to tears)...
everyone on this board is more than happy to be excited with you...
while the non-disney people in the 'real' world will get very annoyed with you (or think you're loony and need to be put away).....

also be very careful not to be too pushy when you are on the trip itself...
let your son and husband experience their pleasure without any pushing from you.....i've seen vacations ruined by one overzealous member of the family trying to push their excitement on the others...
let your family discover the magic at their own pace...

we've been to WDW over 40 times and i get just as excited over it every time (and go just as planning crazy each time).....my husband isn't a disneyholic, but is happy to be with us wherever we are, so i don't bore him with the details...
fortunately for me, my kids (now 21 and 19) are just as disney crazy as i am, but still they get bored with the planning details.....so i've learned to keep it all to myself....but once we get there, they're very appreciative of all the work and planning....

I'm left in sole charge of booking our Floridian holidays, when I try and discuss it with my DW she seems to switch off or change the subject which I have to admit I find a tad frustrating. Then again, she's probably just getting her own back for those discussions about her friends, sisters, cousin who watched Eastenders and then ran off with a bloke down the street and you'll never guess what?! he only painted the wall in duck egg blue and not the pure sky blue she wanted .... *yawn* - my brain just switches off!

Being serious, I love planning trips to Florida. I've got all the Brit guides from 2002 onwards and I've already asked for the 2006 one for my Birthday and hope that the 2007 one is out by Christmas! I get goose bumps looking at the villa we've already booked. Every calander, diary, phone, computer I own has alerts on to prompt me to book flights in September (that's the earliest we can do it being 11 months in advance). I've started planning an itinerary, I'm looking forward to the things we're going to do again and at the things we've never tried.

To be honest, it's what I goto bed thinking about now as, along with the diet I've been put on, our Floridian trip is my main target. I just wish my DW would get excited about it too ...

At least I know I am not the only one!! This is our second time and I don't remember being this bad the first time around but I suppose this time I know whats coming!!! I am already thinking about trying to soft talk DH into booking for next year but trying a villa and car instead of I Drive!! I have planted the seed and am now giving it a subtle watering every so often!!ha ha!!

We have no such problem getting excited and we are always thinking of our next holiday.

The only problem we have is our son Joshua is Autistic and cannot talk, whilst he loves every minute of his holiday he doesn't understand that he is going back to Florida again in a few months time, so it's frustrating for us that he cannot get excited like we can.
He does make up for it when we get there though so it's well worth the wait.

Yup, I'm like this all year round :rotfl2:

My hubby laughs at me whenever I start a conversation with 'Someone on the Dis said .......... ' or 'I read on the Dis ...............'

Just come on here, and we'll share your excitement :)

Snap!

Having booked our holiday a record breaking 18 months before travelling my DW and I have been pretty much bouncing off the walls non stop.

Now that we are able to start talking in terms of weeks and days rather than years and months we are probably the most unbearable people around.

We do live, eat and sleep Disney at the moment, even to the annoyance of most of the people coming with us.

I have read the disney books cover to cover, planned, itinerised and then started again and done it all again and again.

DW has packed the cases already, we have everything except the plane tickets in our wallet thingy ready including dollars, park tickets, maps, driving directions.

We are now just looking for excuses to do extra wdw related things, checking the weather, reading trip reports, having planning parties, discussing park stratergies.

Are we excited?

You bet!

You keep up the good work, get as excited as possible, make yourself sick, stay awake all night giggling, walk with a spring in your step, go to work happy - All safe in the knowledge that all in the world is good, because "Your going to Disney World" The Happiest Place in the World.

When we are not there i too am constantly planning or talking about the theme parks ,possible days where , weather stats checking etc, what to take when to buy ticketsetc. You know the usual!!Guess we just love the place so much, can't think why we'd go anywhere else !! ::yes:: ::yes::In fact we often advise our co-workers when they ask about planning their trips and share some of our knowledge and books too, park maps and tips when required ::yes:: ::yes::Even listen to Disney songs on my Ipod at work-helps to keep me focused if that makes sense!!

Just the same here! :cheer2: My husband doesn't do excited!!! About anything! :confused3 I was planning our last trip for almost a year, and started immediately on our next as soon as we came back - and we hadn't even booked it!! He just leaves me to it and reaps the benefit when we are there. He even thanked me for the planning! :teeth:
Friends and family think we are mad anyway, so I am so glad for these boards so I can be excited with other mad people! :yay:

Do it!!!!

Staying in a Villa is a great experience, a real home from home. Personally, when we stay in a villa it makes me feel like a millionaire. All the space, pool, hot tub, nice TV etc make it so appealing. Added to this the freedom a car will give you to explore other Floridian treasures!

Keep watering that idea!!!!

Wouldn't worry about it. DF isn't at all interested in WDW, that's why I go with my mum. When we have a holiday booked I keep my excitement going by talking with my mum.

My husband doesn't do excited either! He won't even listen to anything about WDW cos he says let's see what DLP is like first... :confused3 He thinks I spend way too much time planning for a trip (to WDW) that isn't even booked yet!

Let's hope that 5 days at Disneyland Paris will convince him to try Florida!! :sunny:

How do you think i feel this year - DH isn't even coming, eldest DD is living at boyfriends (only coming with us because it's not costing her anything) and youngest DD said today, when i told her "3 weeks today etc etc ", tell me when it's 3 days!!! DH has paid for us to go but isn't coming because he said it's too hot, he doesn't like the rides and i get him up too early :rotfl2: NOBODY LISTENS TO ME!! I get so excited when i see a thread about where we are staying on the Resorts Forum but nobody seems interested....i try telling the dog, but he's so old, he is stone deaf :confused3

At work, i sit on a reception desk.......on my own, so no one there to talk to.

Good job i have got you lot

DF is having alot more input in the plans this year, last year was his first trip so he just went along with everything but this time round he has an opinion on what he wants to do/eat/see.

Last year he was in the 'let me know the day before we go & I may raise a smile' catagory but this year he often brings up the subject himself and says he is looking forward to it which is great :goodvibes

By the way.....I dont have 1 single friend, colleague or relative that doesnt think i am bonkers!

:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:
