Why am I craving pickles?

No I am not pregnant!!!!

But why am I craving pickles. The sweet gherkins...been craving them since Thanksgiving or so. I just can not get enough of them.

Must be a holiday thing because my DH has been eating them like crazy too and I know he's not pregnant either I only buy them for the holidays.

I'm trying to remember something I read...I think that is indicative of a particular vitamin or mineral deficiency. Your body knows what it wants.

For all you pickle lovers. Have you ever had pickle wraps? Take a large dill pickle and spread cream cheese all over it, wrap in a slice of ham. Wrap in saran wrap and chill. Slice. They are soooo delicious!! I've never ahd any left over, but many people have given them strange looks before trying one.

I go in spurts with all sortsa food cravings. I've never quite understood it, although I've also been told it's deficiencies.

My poor DH, it drives him crazy. He will try to stock up on whatever the craving of the week is so I don't make any midnight requests, then next thing he knows, I'll change my craving, so he has three packages of whatever stashed away in his man room and nothing to do with them!

Yes! I love them & I too get the strange looks...but then they're hooked just like me.

Yep, I love those. My husband and kids refuse to try them. They are convinced I'm crazy.

My grandma makes a "relish tray" (cut veggies, cheese cubes, gherkins, olives) every year along with her famous cheese ball. I never crave this stuff any other time except for the last part of November through January 1. Old habits.

If I had them in my house, I wouldn't eat them. But see them on a buffet and look out!

lol I crave any type of pickle when my blood pressue is low. My body needs the sodium. BUT at Christmas it is always the sweet gerkins.
