I'm going to be there April 27th - May 2. I don't know much about the place so hopefully someone can help me. What's the closest building to the food court and bus stops? I have a walking disability, so I'd like to be near. Also, are there coffee makers in the rooms? I didn't see anything about them. If not, do you think it would be ok to bring one or can they be rented? Also, do they rent fridges?
Any info about this place would be great! I've read info about it, but I'd like to hear from those who have stayed there. Thanks so much!!!!

I loved my stay at the All Star Music. The closest buildings to the main area and bus stop is Calypso. This is considered a "prefered" room and you must book them as such. They cost more. The next closest would be Jazz. Part of the Calypso buildings face the main pool which can be noisy. The back side of Calypso would be quieter. There are elevators at this resort so the top floor is a good place to request for more quiet.
The rooms here are basic and come with no coffee makers or fridges or microwaves.
I beleive you can rent a refrigerator but not sure about coffee maker.
I was actually in the Rockk Inn section and really liked it.

Hi,
I stayed at the ASMU last spring break. I specifically requested a room close to the food court, buses etc for my mother who has a walking disability. We did not want to pay the extra $10 per night for the Calypso building. We got a ground floor room in the non-smoking Jazz building. It was very convenient to everything. The rooms are very standard and small but we did not spend much awake time in the room!
Several people take coolers instead of renting the refrigerators. I think they are $10 per night also. We were not in the room long enough to use a cooler either. If you would need the frig for medicine or for baby formula it is my understanding that the rental fee is waived.
We bought the refillable mugs for coffee and pop and definately got our money's worth.
Have a great time! :earsgirl:

I can't answer the refrigerator or coffee pot questions, but I can send you to pictures!

We stayed in Jazz in a third-floor non-smoking room this past December, and loved it. I also have a slight walking disability, but wasn't bothered because I wasn't in a hurry.

You can see my pictures by clicking the link in my signature below, looking for BethC1952, and then the album for All Star Music.

We liked it enough that we're going back for 7 nights in December (4 pre-cruise, 3 post-cruise) with my son and his family!

We stayed in Calypso October 2002 (three nights) and eight nights in Rock Inn January.
Of course Caypso is closer, but also $10 a night more.
Without paying the additional $10 a night, you don't know what building you will get.
In your situation, I would pay the extra $10 and know you will be close. (Unless you have a car and plan on driving anyway.)
We were very happy with both our stays.
No in-room coffee makers, unless you bring your own. ;)
I would think frigs can be rented, since people would need them for medical supplies. And my understanding if this is the case, there is no extra charge. But I don't know that for certain.
In Calypso, even though we were facing the pool (2nd floor) it was very well noise insulated facing the pool area.

We have stayed at the Music a few times. We all love it there. We have had great room locations, and the rooms have been very clean. Also the young people that work the check in lines were very nice. The food court offers alot of variety- esp. for kids. We buy the mugs, which is a great deal. you get tonic, tea or coffee inc. with them. Its really a fun place. The rooms arn't large, but they are good enough for 4 people. It is so close you can walk over to the Movies, have lunch or just walk around. They also share the pools, all the all star pools. Like i said i think you will have a great time there. Hopefully we will be there in August.

No coffee pots. Yes, you can bring your own. The cost of the fridge went up last year to $12 per night. I have rented one almost every stay at various Disney resorts. Be sure to tell them MANY times that you want one and double check at check-in that they have it listed. Sometimes they are "forgetful" and don't have one in your room.

Even the Jazz building can be quite a hike if you get one of the rooms facing the parking lot of the next AS resort. If you can request a pool view - try for that. It will put you a little closer to the main walkway. We were in Jazz once and had to hike all the way around the back side of the building. It was REALLY a hike.

As a previous poster said, if you have a medical condition and need the fridge for medicine, they will wave the cost of the fridge.

Well, I never stayed at the Music. But my sister did. When I was there to see her, it was nice (the landscaping was better than the Movies). I don't like the bathrooms (they are like this ugly red and green). But other than that I love the All-Star Resorts. They are very "fun" and I love walking through it and hearing all the happy kids! It makes me smile!
