Who's Turn Is It To Throw Up Today? A Feb 2014 Wedding TR - New TR link 10/27!!

How awesome! Love that Mickey and Minnie turned up unannounced as a surprise.

I'm so envious that you got to dance with Mickey. So special! :thumbsup2

I was so excited to hear that your trip report had something about a Disney wedding in it. :) I read a lot of trip reports lately because I'm headed to Disney in 14 days!! (ALMOST 13!)

One of my best friends is getting married on the 25th of June and I didn't exactly know what to expect. So it was really neat seeing how your family's special day worked. Thank you for inviting us to share that with you!!

I'm excited to read more about how your trip went!!

OH MICKEY AND MINNIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How COOL IS THAT?!?! how many people can say they went to a wedding with Mickey?!?! YOU CAN!!!! and upgrades?!?! Oh i love Disney... they really do make wishes come true!!!!

I do love the pictures as always! you and Jim look awesome together!! rockin the devil horns is a trademark now like Mark (Katmark) and his hats!!! :rotfl:

Wow! Great updates! Of course the highlight is Mickey and Minnie showing up!! I'll bet it was hard for Morgan to keep that a secret! What a memorable addition they made. And I love the picture of you and Jim with them. That is frame worth for sure! Your Mom is adorable too. Thanks for letting us do a Disney wedding vicariously through you.

Those shots of the Boardwalk at dusk were beautiful. And I have a thing about the Disney ducks as well. I made friends with a couple on our last trip. In fact, they started following me around a bit. haha

Well, I hope you have a fun weekend planned to sort of celebrate a short break of madness at work. Enjoy!

Oh Wow! I love the reception pictures and all the posing with Mickey & Minnie! How much fun is that! I do think $900 for 1/2 hour is a bit exorbitant, so free is SO much better! :cool1:

Who doesn't love the Boardwalk at twilight? :thumbsup2

Cool surprise! I also love Disney ducks they are the luckiest ducks in the world. Looks like a fantastic wedding.

It was a very cool surprise!

Well if that isn't a way to happily start married life getting Micky & Minnie in your wedding pictures I certainly don't know what is pixiedust: The picture of you & Jim with them came out great :thumbsup2 Everyone looked terrific really Much fun !

It was a great pixie dust moment and one that I'm sure they will never forget. I was pretty happy with the photo, just wish it was zoomed out a little more.

Cute pictures of your mom and Jim.

The Boardwalk looks SO pretty!

Mickey & Minnie! Omg that's fantastic! Their outfits are so great, love your picture with them.

Sounds like it was a really great day :)

It was so neat to get pictures with Mickey and Minnie is such unique costumes!

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG That is SO COOL that Mickey and Minnie showed up, unannounced.
I guess that kinda makes them Wedding Crashers. :scratchin

But what a wonderful surpise. I'm not sure how you could top that.

Yep, they came strolling in like they belonged there or something. :rotfl2: Believe me, the rest of the reception was pretty anticlimactic.

How magical to have Mickey and Minnie at the reception!!!!! I would've been tackling small children to make sure I got a dance in with both of them :rotfl: I love that Minnie had a purple dress on to match with the wedding colors, too!!

Disney Ducks are the best ducks anywhere around! I always come home with lots of duck pictures, too.

Oh I was tackling the small kids to get some time with them. :rotfl: Luckily my cousin Sydney is a huge Disney fan too so I had a partner in crime.

Awesome updates!!
How great that Mickey & Minnie showed up too, how nice of them! :rotfl2:

Really though, the cost of the characters coming to weddings is more ridiculous than the cost of the weddings in the first place! I seriously wanted it, but after seeing the cost, no thank you! Lol.

Looks like a wonderful evening!

The cost was pretty ridiculous that's why I didn't think we would be seeing them. It was sure nice of Disney to comp them for Morgan.

It was a very nice surprise and I very much enjoyed dancing with them!

So glad you enjoyed reading about the wedding. Your trip is sooo close, hope you have a wonderful time!

I know, that was a moment I'll never forget! I'm not going to tell Jim that the devil horns are now making him "famous". He's got a big enough of an ego already! :lmao:

You are welcome, I'm glad you enjoyed the wedding recap.

Those shots of the Boardwalk at dusk were beautiful. And I have a thing about the Disney ducks as well. I made friends with a couple on our last trip. In fact, they started following me around a bit. haha

The Boardwalk area is so beautiful any time of the day. As for the ducks, we usually make friends with some of them too. I had at least two duck encounters during the three days were were there last month.

Well, I hope you have a fun weekend planned to sort of celebrate a short break of madness at work. Enjoy!

Didn't do too much this weekend other than taking the "little rat" (Remy) to the vets for a routine checkup. He's now 10 pounds and very healthy! He was less than six when we brought him home so that tells you how underweight he really was poor guy.

Oh Wow! I love the reception pictures and all the posing with Mickey & Minnie! How much fun is that! I do think $900 for 1/2 hour is a bit exorbitant, so free is SO much better! :cool1:

Who doesn't love the Boardwalk at twilight? :thumbsup2

Free was so much better for sure! I think the Boardwalk is beautiful any time of the day or night!

One thing I forgot to mention before the last update was that I started the TR for the May trip. It's tacked onto the end of the "Rock On" TR that's in my signature. I'm not sure which page it starts on but there is an index in the second post that will lead you right there!

On Tuesday, February 11th, 2014 it was finally time to head to my happy place, Magic Kingdom! I prefer to go there on my first day but there was just no way to work it in on Saturday. We agreed to meet in the lobby around 8:00 am and were all on our own again for breakfast.

I actually headed out of the room early because Jim was catching the Magical Express and I wanted to make sure he got off OK. He was freaking out a little because a huge snow storm was coming and he was worried that he would get stuck at WDW. There was a bit of a fiasco with the ME bus, when the one he was supposed to get on came, there was only room for 3 people. He ended up getting on the next bus that came 20 minutes later and made it to the airport in plenty of time. He did make it home before the snow but just barely. He was stuck in the house for a couple of days. It really worked out for me because my work was cancelled for three days so I only had to use two vacation days instead of five. Here’s a picture he sent me later in the week looking out our front window.

I know for you northern folks that doesn’t look like much but for Atlanta that is huge. Plus it sleeted first so there was a nice layer of ice under all the white stuff.

OK, let’s get back to the actual trip as I know many of you have no desire to ever hear the word snow again.

We ended up meeting around 8:15 because we waited a little bit for John and Jocelyn. Jocelyn was still feeling pretty crappy so she was moving slow. But at least she was still trekking along!

We made it to MK just as the opening show was finishing.

I still can’t decide if I like the new colors of the sign. Of course the pink and blue always made me think “baby shower” so maybe the yellow and blue is better.

As you can see, it was a beautiful day, not a cloud in the sky and nice temperatures. I think it got up to around 80 this day.

Someday I’m going to take the time to ride one of the Main Street vehicles.

I really want to ride the double decker bus but I don’t think they get it out too often anymore. It still exists though because Mom and I saw it backstage later in the week when we did the KTTK tour.

There’s what I had been waiting for days to see!

We stopped at the end of Main Street for some pictures.

Bob had been commenting loudly about the Magic Shots he saw another Photographer doing so you know what our Photographer did!

It only took four days but Bob finally participated in one of the shots! Pat was so excited when I told her she would be holding Tinkerbell.

Bob and Pat were only going to be with us till 2 pm on this day. They were flying out later that evening and would have to leave to catch the Magical Express. My goal was to get them on as many of the popular rides as I could before they had to leave.

We walked through the castle and went straight to Peter Pan which was still a walk on. I love this CM, I wonder how long he has worked at the Peter Pan ride?

I was pretty anxious to see what my new camera could do on this ride. We didn’t get a chance to ride it in October because it was closed for renovations. I thought they were supposed to put in an interactive line but as far as I could tell, they did nothing. Let’s see what I got photo wise.

Oh, well, still not the best. I think I could probably get some better shots but the ride moves too fast so the pictures look blurry.

Our first FP+ was for 9 am – 10 am for the Little Mermaid ride. I didn’t think we would need the FP+ but I wanted to be sure we got on that one since only Mom and I had ridden it before. We headed back towards the ride after PP but got sidetracked by Gaston’s Tavern and Bonjour Gifts.

Up Next: Let’s Go Under the Sea!

Glad Jim made it home ok and beat the snow..and even better that you were able to benefit from those snow days!

YAY finally MK! Nice choice riding Peter Pan first :thumbsup2

I can promise you, getting stuck in Walt Disney World is NOT on my list of worries, lol.

Awesome that the snow helped with vacation time.

I guess I'm starting to finally get used to the new MK sign colour scheme. But boy did I hate it at first. And I'm a baby blue fan.

Getting that first castle picture just never gets old, does it? :cloud9:

Trust me when I say I do NOT miss cold weather, snow, snow plows, or scraping off a car to go to work BUT that is a really beautiful picture Jim took Very peaceful I may look at when it gets hot as hell this summer I really think we are in for a record breaking summer as it is starting to get pretty brutal here in the afternoons

Ariana, I am back and slowly catching up.

The cake table was beautiful; the food looks delicious and the added prescence of Mickey and Minnie is just icing on the cake. ;)

I would be one of those who NEVER wants to hear the word or actually see snow again. Glad Jim beat it home.

Nice photopass pictures on Main Street. And your Peter Pan photos are better than anything I've ever been able to get.

Glad Jim made it back before the snow hit. Looks like it was great timing!

Lovely shots with the PP and magic shots.
Seems like the camera did okay in Peter Pan.

I'm also one who would not be worrying if I got stuck at WDW!! But I'm so glad Jim got home before it hit. Love the Pixie Dust of fewer Vacay days used!

Having to wait to get to MK must have made it all the sweeter. I have so many pictures of the castle, but still take them every trip. It's just so special! Great pics with Tink! I try to get photos on the Winnie The Pooh ride and they all turn out blurry. And it doesn't move as fast as PP. I'm like Kahy, yours turned out better than mine!

I just love the new Fantasyland areas. Gaston's Tavern is so realistic and I love that big chair inside. I've not eaten there, but I've heard the pork shank is awesome. One of these trips maybe I'll get to try it.

Great update, keep em coming! I'll zip over to your TR for your May trip now and see what you were up to. Lots of fun I'm sure!

Tell Jim thank you for my new screen saver with a snip snip here and a snip snip there:goodvibes Right now it's 79 degrees sounds lovely right ? Until you see the accuweather " feel like" of 93 degrees and it's only 9:30 am  yep gonna be a scorcher this year

Oh sent you an email sometime yesterday Did you see the new Pluto pin ?

YOu guys ended up getting hit more than once with some great snow and ice this past winter...being in the "snow dome" of Nashville really was rotten. We ended up with nothing...nada...zilch. Just COLD, COLD, COLD temps. :headache:

It was that shot of the Gaston Fountain that I was trying to get in October when I dropped my camera and broke it. :rolleyes1 No LeFou's brew? We loved that stuff. Brian STILL mentions it from time to time. YUM!

Okay...ready to go Under the Sea now!!! :yay:

oh no you posted snow....

terrible terrible snow..

Besides that horrible picture reminding us of the snow. i have cringed then was happy to see the castle! :cloud9:

the peter pan ride is almost IMPOSSIBLE to take pictures on. the dark and black lights are rough!!!

As you may remember, we were there at the same time. We had heard the storm was coming and thought about extending our stay by a day or so. But decided at the last minute to go ahead and leave on Friday. As I was checking out I discovered they had made a mistake on our reservation. While they did not charge us for it, they had us down for an extra day. We made it home to find ice every where!

I was glad he made it home safe too! We had to hit up PP first because we didn't have a FP+ for it.

I can promise you, getting stuck in Walt Disney World is NOT on my list of worries, lol.

Me neither! Jim unfortunately is not the biggest fan. He does OK when it's just me and him but he does not like going in a large group. He doesn't like standing around trying to figure out what is next on the agenda.

Awesome that the snow helped with vacation time.

I guess I'm starting to finally get used to the new MK sign colour scheme. But boy did I hate it at first. And I'm a baby blue fan.

I know, it's hard when something changes!

Getting that first castle picture just never gets old, does it? :cloud9:

Nope, never does!

It is a very peaceful picture. I'm sure we will have some brutal days here in Atlanta too and we will be wishing for some of the colder weather!

Ariana, I am back and slowly catching up.

Luckily I didn't do too many updated since I was busy with work!

The cake table was beautiful; the food looks delicious and the added prescence of Mickey and Minnie is just icing on the cake. ;)

The whole wedding was wonderful but adding Mickey and Minnie just made it out of this world!

I would be one of those who NEVER wants to hear the word or actually see snow again. Glad Jim beat it home.

You were one of the ones I had in mind when I typed that sentence. :)

Nice photopass pictures on Main Street. And your Peter Pan photos are better than anything I've ever been able to get.

I do love how those Main Street photos turned out. We got some really good photopass pics all week.

Glad Jim made it back before the snow hit. Looks like it was great timing!

Lovely shots with the PP and magic shots.
Seems like the camera did okay in Peter Pan.

He did have great timing. It was already snowing and starting to stick by the time he got home that afternoon.

Yeah, the camera did just OK in PP. I want to ride it sometime and get "stuck" for a bit so the ride is stopped. I bet I can get some better shots if that happens!

I'm also one who would not be worrying if I got stuck at WDW!! But I'm so glad Jim got home before it hit. Love the Pixie Dust of fewer Vacay days used!

Me neither, I would gladly get stuck a Disney for a while. :thumbsup2

I'm like Kathy, yours turned out better than mine!

Sometimes I need my dose of MK to feel the magic but this trip was really fun even though I didn't get to my favorite park right away. Yep, you can never have too many photos of the castle! I've gotten some pretty good ones on WTP but PP is really hard.

I just love the new Fantasyland areas. Gaston's Tavern is so realistic and I love that big chair inside. I've not eaten there, but I've heard the pork shank is awesome. One of these trips maybe I'll get to try it.

It is a really great area. I was so happy to get the photos that morning since the area was pretty much empty. I've had the Le Fou's Brew but I can't eat pork so I don't think I'll be eating there any time soon.

Great update, keep em coming! I'll zip over to your TR for your May trip now and see what you were up to. Lots of fun I'm sure!

Hope to see you over there!

I love what you did with the picture! Thanks as always for letting me know about the pin. Of course I ordered one right away. :rotfl:

YOu guys ended up getting hit more than once with some great snow and ice this past winter...being in the "snow dome" of Nashville really was rotten. We ended up with nothing...nada...zilch. Just COLD, COLD, COLD temps. :headache:

Yeah we had two weeks where my work was closed for multiple days. The first one was horrible, I'm sure you saw what a mess Atlanta was that week! I was lucky, it only took me 3 1/2 hours to get home (normally 1/2 drive) but a lot of people didn't even make it home at all.

It was that shot of the Gaston Fountain that I was trying to get in October when I dropped my camera and broke it. :rolleyes1 No LeFou's brew? We loved that stuff. Brian STILL mentions it from time to time. YUM!

Bummer on the camera but I can see why with the cobblestones back there. No Le Fou's Brew at that time but we did stop later and it was a pretty funny story.

Okay...ready to go Under the Sea now!!! :yay:

Coming right up!

oh no you posted snow....

terrible terrible snow..

Sorry! But I had to tell the whole story, didn't I?

Besides that horrible picture reminding us of the snow. i have cringed then was happy to see the castle! :cloud9:

Castle pictures can make anything better!

the peter pan ride is almost IMPOSSIBLE to take pictures on. the dark and black lights are rough!!!

Oh I know that but it doesn't stop me from trying!

Nini

Glad you made it home safe! By the time I got home Saturday night, most of the snow and ice was gone.
