Who's Turn Is It To Throw Up Today? A Feb 2014 Wedding TR - New TR link 10/27!!

As I headed towards my table for the reception, I paused to take a picture of the cake table. The cake was more symbolic than anything else because they had other stuff for dessert. They just used the cake for the traditional cake cutting as you’ll see in a few minutes.

At our tables were these very pretty center pieces:

And also favors for each guest:

Very appropriate for a Disney wedding don’t you think?

It was about that time that I noticed how pretty and sparkly the ceiling was.

Then it was time for the Wedding party to descend the same staircase we just came down. My pictures aren't very good of this part because our table was on the opposite side of the dance floor.

They started the reception by getting some of the formalities out of the way. Steve and Morgan had their first dance:

Then Morgan danced with her dad:

And Steve with his Mom:

The cake cutting was next. After they finished, they wheeled the cake table away and that was the last we saw of it.

Next were the speeches by the best man:

Sydney and Erin also talked but they had their backs to us so I didn’t get any pictures. Finally Jordan (Morgan’s brother) said the blessing and it was time to eat!

I apparently liked the napkins.

The food was buffet style and everything was delicious! While I didn’t take pictures of the actual buffet, I did get pictures of my plate, Jim’s plate and my Mom’s plate. You can probably tell this first one is mine by the “plain” food on it.

My Mom and Jim had a lot more variety on their plates.

For dessert, there were mini cheese cakes and brownies with nuts. I didn’t like either of those so I ended up not getting pictures. I was a bit jealous of the kids because they got “dirt” for dessert.

Oh and in case you were wondering about John and Jocelyn, they never did make it back to the reception. They had taken a taxi to Centra Care which is pretty close to Disney. They determined there that Jocelyn had the flu like we suspected and that she was also dehydrated. They gave her some anti-nausea pills and told her to drink fluids. Then Centra Care drove them back to All Star Sports. Apparently, they would have come and picked them up too but John wasn’t aware of this. I’m guessing if they had stopped at the concierge desk in the Boardwalk like I suggested they might have found that out. But John was too worried about Jocelyn so they went straight out and got a taxi. Jocelyn spent that afternoon and evening resting in the room. John said he went to the food court for dinner and played in the arcade for a while.

Welcome Back!!

Thanks!

Love the centerpieces and of course the Mickey favors!

They were both cute. As for the Mickey favors I didn't try one but a few people did and said they weren't very good. Strange for something at Disney.

Great photos of the reception! I'm sorry to hear John & Jocelyn didn't make it back :(

I was sad for them too I wish they could have come back for a while.

Those three did have a fun time coming down the steps. The guy in the group had a lot of fun later on the dance floor. :rotfl:

The food was amazing. I loved everything on my plate.

Pity about Jocelyn. I hope she got better after the hydration.

She still felt crummy the next day but by Wednesday she was much better.

Hi Ariana! So glad things have slowed down for you and you can finally catch your breath!

I am definitely relieved that that is over for another year! August will also be a little crazy as that's when I put the final budget book together. But I'd much rather deal with a 300 page book than the people in the meetings. :rotfl:

I definitely always look up at Disney. It was actually little Kennedy that noticed the ceiling first. She was pointing it out to everyone.

Your BACK!!!

Coming right up!

After we finished eating, it was time to get up on the dance floor and boogie away those calories.

I did get up for a number or two but Mom and Jim do not dance at all. They held down the chairs at our table.

Jim couldn’t resist giving his trademark devil horns.

At one point I walked outside to see the Boardwalk at twilight.

I just love Disney ducks!

When Morgan first booked the wedding, she had looked into getting characters to come but she found out that it would cost $900 for Mickey and Minnie to come for a ½ hour. She decided that it was too expensive and she would not have any characters at the wedding. So imagine my surprise when this happened.

Mickey and Minnie showed up at the reception! Morgan hadn’t told anyone because she wanted it to be a surprise but when Disney had to move the reception out of the St. James room in the Boardwalk hotel, not only did they upgrade her to the Atlantic Dance Hall for free, they also gave her Mickey and Minnie for free!

Cool surprise! I also love Disney ducks they are the luckiest ducks in the world. Looks like a fantastic wedding.

Continued from Previous Post

At first it was just the kids and bride and groom out dancing with them but I’m a big kid myself so I grabbed Sydney and we joined in. Jim took my camera at this point and he is not very good so the pictures are pretty awful. But I needed to share proof that I danced with them!

Mickey and Minnie danced about three songs with everyone then they took some time to do pictures with anyone who wanted them.

Jacob was pouting at this point for some reason, not sure what his problem was.

I don’t know who this baby belonged to but I thought the picture was adorable and had to share!

Esther and Jim took a turn.

And of course, you know there was no way I was going to pass up this opportunity. I probably should have shown my Aunt how to work the zoom on my camera before I handed it to her.

Still a very cute picture! Although I will say Mickey was a little sweaty from all the dancing.

Nobody was passing up the opportunity to get a picture, even my Mom, Bob and Pat took a turn.

The rest of the night was pretty anticlimactic after that. We did some more dancing and I will say that I never did learn what the fox says. First time I had heard that song but all the kids went crazy when it came on.

The reception ended right at 8:30 pm and we headed back out to the boardwalk.

The bridal party and some of the younger folks headed to Jellyrolls but Mom, me, Jim, Bob and Pat just decided to head back to the resort. We walked back to the lobby of the Boardwalk.

And from there caught a taxi back to the resort. I think it cost about $10 and was well worth the cost. We could have taken a boat to HS and then a bus from there but the cab sure was a lot easier.

I have absolutely nothing else in my notes for this night so I’m guessing we all just headed back to our rooms to catch some sleep.

Up Next: Magic Time!

Well if that isn't a way to happily start married life getting Micky & Minnie in your wedding pictures I certainly don't know what is pixiedust: The picture of you & Jim with them came out great :thumbsup2 Everyone looked terrific really Much fun !

Cute pictures of your mom and Jim.

The Boardwalk looks SO pretty!

Mickey & Minnie! Omg that's fantastic! Their outfits are so great, love your picture with them.

Sounds like it was a really great day :)

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG That is SO COOL that Mickey and Minnie showed up, unannounced.
I guess that kinda makes them Wedding Crashers. :scratchin

But what a wonderful surpise. I'm not sure how you could top that.

How magical to have Mickey and Minnie at the reception!!!!! I would've been tackling small children to make sure I got a dance in with both of them :rotfl: I love that Minnie had a purple dress on to match with the wedding colors, too!!

Disney Ducks are the best ducks anywhere around! I always come home with lots of duck pictures, too.

Awesome updates!!
How great that Mickey & Minnie showed up too, how nice of them! :rotfl2:

Really though, the cost of the characters coming to weddings is more ridiculous than the cost of the weddings in the first place! I seriously wanted it, but after seeing the cost, no thank you! Lol.

Looks like a wonderful evening!
