Who's Turn Is It To Throw Up Today? A Feb 2014 Wedding TR - New TR link 10/27!!

Apparently the future involves some bad fashion choices! That sweater vest thing is pretty hideous!

I always want to play some of the games and such at the end, but have too much to do so I walk out and never get back to it.

Wow, TT Single Rider line being 40 minutes is crazy!! :scared:

Oh Disney smells are totally part of the magic, even old and musty.

Ahhh, I love that picture of the Earth. That area of the ride is so darned relaxing and Zen.

Haha, the building your future is just classic stuff. I guess with "Claire" over at Dinosaur, they decided to put in a little Cliff Huxtable into SE via your sweater. The future does not look bright fashion wise.

Awesome Dismeet!

Smells are part of the nostalgia of Disney! Even if they are old and musty. Hahah

I mean, you DON'T like that sweater? :rotfl:

That's a gorgeous sweater you're wearing. I don't see what could possibly be wrong with it. :confused3

:lmao:

40 minutes for TT Single rider??? :faint:
Whoever the whizz kid is that is in charge of the FP+ system deserves &^#Q so that us paying guests can get back to enjoying the park the way it's supposed to be enjoyed. Absolute &#@&^R$%%.

I love Spaceship Earth. What a great ride. Such a classic. It's funny to think of using a FP for it, but now with the tiered system there aren't that many choices. I do think its ridiculous that you can't get FP's for both TT and Soarin. A single rider of 40 minutes - yeah - I probably would have skipped that too!

So the Ellen ride wasn't his first choice? Can't wait to hear where you are off to next.

Dan and I love Sunshine Seasons as well. And the chocolate mousse cake is usually my dessert of choice! I had to laugh at the photo of Bob's meal and the bite out his dessert first!! :rotfl:

I always thought the smell on Spaceship Earth was more burning embers sort of smell. I do love that attraction, though, along with whatever that smell is. :thumbsup2

Since we usually go in September when it's hot, we look forward to Ellen for a nice break to enjoy the AC and possibly a snooze??:rotfl2: It never disappoints.;)

When we saw those long lines, we thought it was pin traders. Everyone had these pouches and rolling suitcases. I didn't realize it was FP+. They have those kiosks in so many places, it's hard to imagine them being that backed up. We saw several FP+ areas with little to no lines in all the parks. I really am not happy with the tiering at all. I hope there will be more tweaking.

Finally, I just loved the photos of the DIS meet! What fun you seem to be having. I'm so glad so many of you could meet up. :yay:

agree with you about Sunshine Seasons - good QS spot. Never knew the seating divided by seasons - going to have to take a closer look.

Hi everyone . Sorry I've been away for a while, it's been a crazy couple of weeks at work. I think things are calmed down now so I'm going to try my best to update more often! But before I get to the next installment, I had a DIS meet this weekend to tell you about!

Many of you have probably noticed the wonderful Disney bags I carry while at WDW. They are made by a fellow Disser, D~ (DMGeurts on here). I found out that she would be in Knoxville, TN for a few days and I'm only 3 hours away from there. I wasn't going to pass up the opportunity to meet her so I took the day off yesterday and drove up.

Also joining us were D~'s husband, Oopsi (oopsiDAISY), Liddy (not sure of her DIS name), her daugther and son.

We started off the meet with lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. Here we all are:

Afterwards, we just had to do a little shopping at the Disney Store there. Shockingly, I didn't buy one thing.

Oopsi made these adorable Pluto post cards for me:

Thanks again for those! She also brought along a gift for me from another Diser, Cheekypoppins who could not join us. Cheeky likes to give nicknames and since I always eat a bagel and a banana for breakfast at Disney, she calls me Ariana Bagel-nana. So the following gift was very appropriate.

I guess I do eat a lot of bagels because the doggies went absolutely nuts over the bag when I got home.

Sorry I am just now getting here... Still trying to catch up after being gone. :lovestruc

It was soooo FUN meeting up with you... I always enjoy doing Dismeets - truly... and there are a few Disers on my "must meet someday" list... And you were one of them. I was so happy that you were able to take the time off of work to meet me and hang out. I just had the best time meeting you and talking Disney! :lovestruc I do hope our paths cross again one day.

A little more warning this time... Josh and I are hoping to drive/fly down to TN again over Christmas - with the girls this time... :lovestruc

**********************************************************

Your AK/Epcot day looks great. I've only ridden Dinosaur once, and it gave me the worst headache... We have yet to make it back to ride it again. :confused3

And sadly - we have never eaten at Sunshine Seasons yet either. I know we must do it - maybe on our next trip? Everyone raves about it!

Love the photo of all of you in front of SSE. :thumbsup2

**********************************************************

Hahaha about loving the "old musty" smell in Disney... Wonder if they pump that in too? :confused3

Loved all of your SSE pictures - I agree - your camera does very well on the dark rides. I think I remember seeing that yours is a Cannon right? I have a Cannon p&s, and it's a great little camera, mine also does fairly well taking dark pictures.

ROFL at the sweater vest! That is an absolute riot! :woohoo:

And LOL - I feel badly about your mom's neck...

Bummer about TT... I was thinking that is how we will get around the tiering system too. :crowded: Time to figure out a "plan B" - I guess? :surfweb:

Still chuckling about the sweater... :stir: I think I need to find one for you... :3dglasses

Phew... I think I am caught up now? :lovestruc

Again - I just wanted to say that it was so fun meeting you. :woohoo: Now, when I tell Josh how wonderful my Dis friends are - he agrees with me. Even if I don't get his blessing for repeated trips, he knows I have the best Dis friends in the world! :grouphug:

D~

:rotfl: That sweater :lmao: would love to know what answers you gave that prompted that " future look "

re-Pluto postcards...mail them to me..one at a time and I will frame them ;)

Ellen : :sad2: I am right there with John in what he would do to his eyes if forced on there again...right up there with IASW as far as I'm concerned

I am LAUGHING SO LOUD here in my office over your new PAWETTY sweater!!! Love argyle!!! :rotfl: :rotfl2: Holy Crow that is FUNNY STUFF!!!

That sweater was VERY funny!

:sad2: wow about an hour for test track... just wow

I know, I really think it is all because of the teiring system that is now in place. Everyone wants to ride both TT and Soarin' so unless you get there first thing in the morning before the lines get long it's going to be almost impossible.

You my dear have a wonderful camera!!!!

Thanks, I am very happy with it!

The Dismeet was awesome!!! Wish we could do that once a month! :goodvibes But, now bad thing was that the meet has given me case of the Disney blues again this week. :worried:

Jim keeps talking about coming back to Nashville again so if or when we do, you better believe we will be meeting up!

Our family loves Sunshine Seasons too. I never realized that fun fact about the restaurant being divided into the four sections...makes perfect sense. :thumbsup2

I would have never guessed that but I read it somewhere on the DIS. Now that I know, it's pretty obvious especially when you look down from the second floor.

Gabe HATED the Dinosaur ride. This was the only ride he didn't like. He spent the ride tucked into my side. On our ride photo it just looked like there was an empty seat beside me, poor kid. I didn't care for it either, just felt like I would get whiplash from it...kind of how SM makes me feel, too. :rotfl:

It is a bit rough but I like how well it is done. I totally understand why kids would be scared though!

Love the Spaceship Earth pics! That vest is too funny!:rotfl2: I agree that the ride has a musty kind of smell, but it's not a bad thing!

I don't think there are many bad smells at Disney. Well, I found the Utilidors to be extremely stinky but I'm getting way ahead of myself there. We didn't do the KTTK tour till Thursday.

Apparently the future involves some bad fashion choices! That sweater vest thing is pretty hideous!

I know! It always seems like in most futuristic movies that fashion sense just goes right out of the window. Of course I look back at some of the stuff I wore in the 80s and wonder what I was thinking! :rotfl:

I always want to play some of the games and such at the end, but have too much to do so I walk out and never get back to it.

I always say that too and never do. Innovations is another I never get around to exploring.

Wow, TT Single Rider line being 40 minutes is crazy!! :scared:

Yeah, I was NOT happy that we had to miss that ride!

Oh Disney smells are totally part of the magic, even old and musty.

I can't agree more!

Ahhh, I love that picture of the Earth. That area of the ride is so darned relaxing and Zen.

I was really happy to get that picture. I tried before with my other camera and could never capture it.

Haha, the building your future is just classic stuff. I guess with "Claire" over at Dinosaur, they decided to put in a little Cliff Huxtable into SE via your sweater. The future does not look bright fashion wise.

:rotfl: That really is a Cosby sweater isn't it!

Awesome Dismeet!

Thanks, it was a lot of fun!

Smells are part of the nostalgia of Disney! Even if they are old and musty. Hahah

Definitely! There are just certain smells that say "Disney" to me and the old musty smell of SE is one of them.

I mean, you DON'T like that sweater? :rotfl:

Um, NO!

I really loved the FP+ system when Jim and I went in October. But now that they added the tiering system, I'm not as much of a fan. It really makes planning HS and Epcot difficult. I really hope they don't add tiers to MK and AK!

It is a classic! I hope they never change it! Yeah, while I like FP+ for the most part, I am not a fan of the whole tiering system.

So the Ellen ride wasn't his first choice? Can't wait to hear where you are off to next.

Nope, we rode it in 2010 because our cousins said it was the best ride. I don't think John really appreciated the ride for some reason. :rotfl:

Dan and I love Sunshine Seasons as well. And the chocolate mousse cake is usually my dessert of choice! I had to laugh at the photo of Bob's meal and the bite out his dessert first!!

That Mousse Cake is one of my favorite desserts at WDW. Of course for me, the more chocolate the better!

I always thought the smell on Spaceship Earth was more burning embers sort of smell. I do love that attraction, though, along with whatever that smell is.

Usually the burning embers smell is just in the Roman section but it probably does add to the whole musty smell of the ride.

Since we usually go in September when it's hot, we look forward to Ellen for a nice break to enjoy the AC and possibly a snooze?? It never disappoints.;)

I can totally understand that. Jim and I did ride it in October because we had some time to kill. We had a whole row to ourselves and I told Jim just to lay down and take a nap if he wanted to. :lmao:

When we saw those long lines, we thought it was pin traders. Everyone had these pouches and rolling suitcases. I didn't realize it was FP+. They have those kiosks in so many places, it's hard to imagine them being that backed up. We saw several FP+ areas with little to no lines in all the parks. I really am not happy with the tiering at all. I hope there will be more tweaking.

Yep, those were FP+ lines. They seemed to be the worse at Epcot for some reason. We saw much shorter lines at the other three parks.

Finally, I just loved the photos of the DIS meet! What fun you seem to be having. I'm so glad so many of you could meet up. :yay:

It was a great time!

agree with you about Sunshine Seasons - good QS spot. Never knew the seating divided by seasons - going to have to take a closer look.

I learned that interesting fact from someone else's TR here on the DIS!

Sorry I am just now getting here... Still trying to catch up after being gone. :lovestruc

Glad you had a nice little last minute trip!

I do hope our paths cross again one day.

Awww, now I'm blushing. Thank you I really enjoyed meeting you too.

A little more warning this time... Josh and I are hoping to drive/fly down to TN again over Christmas - with the girls this time...

I'll have to think about that, keep me updated. I'm not sure if it will work because Jim works 24/7 around Christmas time but maybe I can sneak away for a few days. I do get 3 days off plus the weekend!
**********************************************************

Your AK/Epcot day looks great. I've only ridden Dinosaur once, and it gave me the worst headache... We have yet to make it back to ride it again.

It is a little rough so I don't blame you.

And sadly - we have never eaten at Sunshine Seasons yet either. I know we must do it - maybe on our next trip? Everyone raves about it!

It is one of the best CS in my opinion. You should definitely give it a try if you get a chance.

Love the photo of all of you in front of SSE.

Thanks!
**********************************************************

Hahaha about loving the "old musty" smell in Disney... Wonder if they pump that in too?

Maybe? :rotfl2: I think it's more that they don't shut the ride down too often to clean it.

Loved all of your SSE pictures - I agree - your camera does very well on the dark rides. I think I remember seeing that yours is a Cannon right? I have a Cannon p&s, and it's a great little camera, mine also does fairly well taking dark pictures.

Yep, it's a Canon. It's a higher end point and shoot, a Powershot S110.

ROFL at the sweater vest! That is an absolute riot! :woohoo:

It definitely gave Mom and I a good laugh!

And LOL - I feel badly about your mom's neck...

That happens to her every time we ride for some reason!

Bummer about TT... I was thinking that is how we will get around the tiering system too. :crowded: Time to figure out a "plan B" - I guess? :surfweb:

I think the only solution now is ropedrop for one of the rides or doing two days if you have time. Same with HS if you want to ride both RnRC and TSM.

Still chuckling about the sweater... :stir: I think I need to find one for you... :3dglasses

Nope, won't were it! :rotfl2:

:grouphug:

D~

He didn't seem too upset about your August trip so I think he's starting to come around.

:rotfl: That sweater :lmao: would love to know what answers you gave that prompted that " future look "

I think she started with Conservation maybe? I really wasn't paying attention but I don't think I've ever seen that ending before. I guess most people aren't concerned with conservation.

re-Pluto postcards...mail them to me..one at a time and I will frame them ;)

Uh, Uh, nope, they have already found a home in my Pluto room. ::yes::

Ellen : :sad2: I am right there with John in what he would do to his eyes if forced on there again...right up there with IASW as far as I'm concerned

I don't find it that bad especially if it's a warm day. Good way to get off your feet and rest for a bit. But I definitely don't want to ride it every trip, I'd rather be in World Showcase enjoying the atmosphere!

OK, before I start this update I think I need to explain a bit so you understand what is going on. Sorry if this is a bit long but I think it is necessary for the update. About two years ago, Mom started having some weird dizzy spells. At first she thought it was just a fluke but after having a few she decided to go to the doctor. They did tests and couldn’t find anything so her doctor told her it was the pills she was taking for a damaged nerve in her face. The pills are a pretty potent pain killer but Mom didn’t think that was the answer. So she went back and forth between her regular doctor and the one that prescribed the nerve meds for quite a long time. Finally right before we went on this trip, they ran some additional tests and discovered it was her sugar levels. I kind of thought that was the problem all along because Mom eats horribly but of course I’m not a doctor. So now she has to watch what she eats and also eat more often during the day. That’s why she got the apple at AK earlier that morning. Another thing to know about Mom is that this kind of stuff embarrasses her for some reason and she’s really reluctant to say anything when she’s not feeling well. She told me about it when we went to Disney together in 2012 and that’s probably the only reason I even knew about it. Alright, that’s the background, let’s move onto the actual update.

We left the TT area after the disappointing discovery that the single rider line was 40 minutes long and headed back to the other side of the park and the Seas building. As we walked past the Electric Umbrella, we ran into Steve, and two of the kids! That was twice now on this day that we had run into family members. Steve was with his family so we didn’t stop long to talk but he said that Morgan, Kennedy and the rest of her family were already in the Seas building and he would be joining them with the other two kids in a bit.

We continued to the Seas and when we got there, there was no wait for Nemo so we go in line. You can see from this picture how they divided the line into two to accommodate FP+.

We walked all the way onto the ride without any wait. Here’s my pictures from the ride.

When we finished the ride, John and Jocelyn said they wanted to look at the aquarium but Bob and Pat did not. So we split up and Bob, Pat, Mom and I headed to see Turtle Talk while John and Jocelyn walked around. We just missed the start of a show so I walked around for a few minutes and took some pictures.

We stood and waited for a while and it was really hot and stuffy in that area. I was starting to feel a little yucky but I was hoping once we got into the theater, it would cool off a bit. Mom walked away like she was going to look at one of the displays and then she just disappeared out the exit without saying a word to us. Both Bob and I knew right away she must have been feeling bad so we quickly followed her out but she had completely disappeared. I really don’t like when she does that to us, it just scares me half to death. I worry that she is passed out in some corner and we aren’t there to help.

When we got out of there we ran into Morgan, Steve and the kids. My aunt Esther and Uncle Jim were also there so I quickly filled Esther in on the situation. She is much more level headed that me in those kind of situations and she immediately sent Bob outside to look for Mom and then her and I headed to the bathroom. We did find Mom there and she was fine. She had started to feel a little lightheaded but I think it was more from the stuffy heat in the Turtle Talk lobby area than anything else. She did what she was supposed to, found a place to sit for a minute (there really are no seating areas in the Seas building so that’s why she headed to the bathroom) and ate a granola bar. I did “yell” at her a little for running off without saying anything. She said she would tell me next time but luckily she did not have any problems with that the rest of the week.

By this time, we had also found John and Jocelyn again and decided to head out as it was getting near the end of our second FP+ for the day which was over in the Land building.

Up Next: I didn’t Know Soarin’ Was Such a Scary Ride

Will I be flamed if I admit, I do not like the Nemo ride? :confused3 I just wish the Living with the Seas ride would have stayed the same, I think the whole Nemo part of it is silly. :rolleyes1 However, I LOVE Turtle Talk with Crush...I thought that was a great addition! :thumbsup

Your poor mom. Glad she took care of herself, but yeah, disappearing like that can cause panic when you know something is not right with her health. :worried:

Yay for the seas, but boo for mom dissappearing! That definitely would have freaked me out too! Especially if she didn't tell you where she was going! Glad you found her incidient free!!

Excited for more!!

So relieved to hear your Mom was alright and was okay for the rest of the week
I would have " yelled " at her too BUT on the flip side I understand how she feels
My Dad was like this and Aunt Mary is finally starting to understand that she MUST keep people near & dear to her informed Just tell Mom " Pride goeth before a fall " KWIM ? I will keep her in my thoughts & prayers :flower3:

My goodness, sometimes I really wonder what doctors do. I would think low blood sugar would be a fairly common thing to diagnose. :confused3

Oh yeah, I would be scared/frustrated too if a family member just took off like that. Of course, I'm also one that would probably wander off like your mother did, so I guess 'm a bit of a hypocrite too, lol. So glad to hear there were no more issues that week. :goodvibes

I'm sorry about your mom. I probably would've scolded mine as well if she did the same thing! Love your pictures of the tanks. I definitely need to spend more time looking at them in the future!

Sorry your mom has not been feeling well. I hope her doctors are able to get to the route of her dizziness.

You got some really nice shots in Nemo. That's a fun ride. I also love visiting the aquarium. The fish are so cool. I haven't seen Turtle Talk with Crush for quite awhile.

Glad your Mom was okay and quickly found! I have similar blood sugar issues. If I go too long without eating it starts to drop and I get light headed/dizzy. If I don't eat soon after that starts I'll faint, so I feel your Mom's pain. I always have some sort of food with me just in case, for that reason.

Bummed you missed Turtle Talk, but it's lucky that Nemo was a walk-on! When I was there in September they had half the line walled off, now I know why!! :thumbsup2
