Who's still waiting for Thursday???

How many friends am I going to have on the phone with me Thursday morning??? DH called tonight and moved rooms from Port Orleans Riverside to Pop to save some money. I made DH ask for whatever room we could get free dining with on Thursday! The CM on the phone tried to tell DH he didn't know anything about it. The fiesty me came out and I said that was crap that people were getting it today. The CM asked my DH where I got that info from and I gave him the code I have for Thursday. He just laughed and said he didn't have any info and I couldn't get free dining today....darn! I guess it was worth a shot!

Ok so who needs a wake up call Thursday morning?? Who's already got a game plan? What's your "ideal" free dining ressie that you're going to book on Thursday? I'm just praying that I get it all together before DH has to leave for work and I'm home with DS3 and DS1.

We'll be up bright & early with you. DH is going in to work late, in case he needs to be on hold for a long time. Here's hoping we all get free dining at our first choice resort on Thursday!

I'll be waiting on hold with you guys. We will be in a hotel room somewhere with all three of our boys while hubby goes on a course. I'm not certain that the CMs will be able to hear what I'm saying but I'll scream over the boys' noise if I have to for free dining.

I wish we could get a Disney Visa in Canada!

Count me in. We're actually going on our "vacation" to the beach w/ DH's family in June. When free dining came out I told DH we're going to be doing 2 vacations again this year, although we'll only be staying 4 nights at WDW this year.

I'll be on the phone too...as well as trying to get 3 kids up and dressed and off to school, I will be booking rooms for us, and my parents too.

First Choice: ASMu family suite, plus regular room for the parents
Second: Any value, two rooms for us, one for the parents
Third choice: POR the 5 of us in room, plus one for the parents
Last choice: Anything really, if I couldn't get any of the above, I might be tempted to tell DH that I was 'forced' into AKL (my 'real' first choice lol)

my mom is a travel agent, so she will be booking for me. However, being retired and doesnt really need the money and I don't think she really grasps the need for her to be up with the chickens to call for me. I have to be at work by 8, (eastern time ) so this is stressing me beyond belief!!!

If I had not been on friday, I would be again on thursday!!

Yeah, I called this afternoon to itchbay at them about not having ANY chance of booking early due to Chase's refusal to offer the Disney VISA card in Canada. I even asked if the CM could transfer me to guest relations since we already have our package booked - he said that he could, but that without the code and VISA card number, their system wouldn't even allow for the conversion of our ressie to FD at this time. I'm not sure I believe that, but he was actually being quite friendly, so I let the matter drop.

He did say, however, that considering how late in the day I called, I would actually stand a better shot of getting my first choice of resort by calling on Thursday - according to him (again, CM info - not necessarily factual), a block of rooms at various resorts was released today for the Disney VISA Free Dining Offer. A SEPARATE block of rooms will be released on Thursday for the General Public offer, and (again, according to him) a larger block since this code will be available to a larger group of people.

So, while I don't want the competition - those who didn't get what they wanted on Monday could theoretically (if his information is accurate), call again on Thursday to take another stab at room selections.

I was on hold today and did get wl std view before 8 am. When I called back in the afternoon to add on an extra day they said wl was not available.

So, I will be calling on Thurs. bright and early to try to get an extra day added on for WL sd view with fd.

I will be calling as well, I am lucky that I have the dates for bounce back but, would like to move it a week earlier. It helps with school start date for the kids. I am hoping that we can all get what we need. I live on the west coast so I will set an alarm for 3:45 am ick.

I was on hold for about 59 minutes yesterday before I got thru.

As I was providing my credit card info, my phone died!!!

Had to start all over again, but the nearly 2 hours on hold were well worth it!

Yep, I'll be on hold. I'll called last night to see if either my brother or I were able to get through first if we could fix each others packages for free dining and the cm that I got acted like she didn't know what I was talking about with the free dining being available Thursday. Hum, sounds like last week when they didn't know anything about the visa holders being able to book yesterday. Anyway, I'll be up bright and early. I can hold until 8:15 then I have a meeting @ work so hopefully calling when they open I can get thru. We have our packages booked already so hopefully that will speed it up. We are hoping for 2 rooms @ movies. So far I haven't heard of anyone going our dates and booking for it.

I'm glad to hear about them opening another block of rooms thursday. I was worried they would open all they had yesterday and we would be screwed.

I will be on hold on Thursday too.... but my hold is a bit different....

I made my reservations with Dreams Unlimited way back in February... because we were going with or without free dining! I emailed my agent the other day and told her that I definately wanted FD! I also told her I would prefer to keep my resort as Pop, but if we had to change to get it to do so, but I wanna keep trying for POP.

Now for the kicker.... last year she didn't get back to me till about 9am... I hope she gets back sooner this year.... well. I work MIDNIGHTS and I get off work at 6am and usually in bed by 8.... I will definately stay up till I hear!
But will I be too excited to sleep afterwards????

I'll be calling too. Still trying to figure out what to do. I usually leave at 7:15 and take a train and a ferry to work, and lose cell phone reception in a tunnel and on the water. I could try right at 7am and go in a little late, but I hate to be on hold for an hour and then have to hang up! I'm wondering if on-line will be better than the phones?? I don't have an existing reservation yet?

Also, anyone have the phone numbers to call??

I'm hoping for AKL with CSR as the backup.

To hopefully make people feel better, two years ago I didn't know about DIS or FD. We decided in June to go to Disney in Aug. I took about two weeks to research the resort and booked the resort we wanted (CSR) on the very last day of the free dining offer with no problem. I understand some resorts might fill up quickly and it might be more well known now, but heres hoping theres magic for everyone.

On a sidenote, my DH won $1,000 last night on the March madness tourney, so we will be using that for Disney!!!!
