Everyone on the DIS seems to know who they're voting for. I'm still undecided. Does anyone else not know who they're voting for yet.

I not only know, I already voted! :rotfl:

Good luck with your decision. Here's a helpful site: www.ontheissues.org to help you sort out which candidate's positions you like or don't like.

Ah yes, I know you said to vote for McCain, but my parents are big Obama supporters, especially my mom, who will be furious with me if I vote for McCain, so I am still confused as to who I should vote for.

Cat and I are very good friends, I respect her opinions, and her advice. No offense, but I take advice from my friends more seriously then I do from "strangers."

I'm not telling you to vote one way or the other, but please don't base your vote on who your parents are voting for. It's your vote, not theirs. We vote privately in this country for a reason. Just vote based on who you would rather be president; the end. Don't vote based on pressure from your parents, P. Diddy, or Chuck Norris.

You don't have to tell anyone who you are voting for. Voting is also not genetically decided. Use your own thoughts to make your decision.

This is supposed to be a non-partisan candidate calculator to help you choose a candidate based on how you feel about the issues. I gave it a try even though I know who I'm voting for since I've already researched the issues and found it to be accurate and non-partisan. Hope it helps, no matter which way you vote, the important thing is that you're voting!

That is what I'm going to do. I was just wondering if anyone else was undecided. I am able to think for myself. I just don't want to make a quick decision, I take voting very seriously.

My dh is still undecided, I'm not sure what will sway him at this point, I'm not sure even he knows. He's never voted for a democrat for President before, but I think he's leaning towards Obama. I think that is the problem, he's just never seen himself voting for a democrat, and now that he actually prefers the democrat over the republican, he's having a hard time convincing himself it is ok to vote democrat. I do think Colin Powell's endorsement this past weekend did a lot to convince him that it is ok to cross party lines.

Read up on the candidates policies, rewatch the debates (I'm sure you can find them on youtube) and then try to decide who you think is the better leader and will implement policies that you feel are best for you and this country.

It doesn't matter who you vote for, just make sure it's your vote and not a vote based on someone else's views.

But you are not alone, I do think there is a group of people out there that still haven't decided.

This is a great website. Answer all the questions and see your match. I like that it gives explanations too.

You have approximately 336 hours left to decide.

I took the quiz. There is less then 10% difference between me, and either candidate's opinions. I think part of the problem is that I can see the good and bad with a lot of the issues, and the ones I feel more strongly about, are also ones that I don't think are that urgent.

Well, in a job interview, if I were that tight on my decision - I would go with the one who had the most experience. ;)

I mean, that's really what they're both doing - applying for the job as POTUS.

I'm back to undecided. Took the little test and had about an even split between Obama and McCain. My problem is I'm not too happy with either of them--I trust McCain more for the economy and foreign policy, but I'm not a social conservative and I strongly believe in gay marriage. I want rights--to marry another woman if I so choose (liberal), own a gun (conservative), have a first trimester abortion (neither party since both sides take abortion to the extreme of their position).

Basically, I may just give up my right to a meaningful vote and vote Libertarian.

I, for one, think you should listen to your mom.

JUST KIDDING!

You should vote for the person you want to and you do not have to answer to anyone else. Not me, not your parents, not your co-workers and not your friends.

I think you are doing the right thing by looking at the two candidates online. I guess if I were so close between the two I would look at each position and think if I could "live with" the other person's position. The one with the least deal-breakers would be the one I would vote for.

This is EXACTLY how I feel. ugh. I still am considering not voting or "throwing my vote away" on a third party candidate.
