Is anyone still waiting to book summer airfare, hoping for better rates from Southwest? We are flying down July 29 and returning August 10 or 12. We are looking for flights from Providence, Hartford or Manchester but are waiting and hoping to see some better rates. I was really hoping to see a summer sale this past Tuesday. So, is anyone waiting with us, especially for these same airports?

I'm with you. I'm waiting for a better price from BWI for Aug. 16. Our return date hasn't been posted. I'd rather fly SW than AirTran, which does have cheaper flights. The prices posted are the highest they have been in years for us. I'd accept these prices if discounts were not showing up still with SW.

I'm waiting for them to open up fares for after August 24th.

For the 1st time in months SouthWest has reasonable
prices for Orlando from where I live Denver, CO :woohoo:
but the flights has to be completed by Aug. 24th
and I need a flight for end of Sept.
I think it's a good sign that maybe they will still
be offering this and will be able to cover
the time we need it.

Round trip from DIA is alway no less than $300.00 pp
and up depending on what Airline.
Last year we were able to book SW for $99.00 pp one way
which ended up being after all the fees $219.00 pp
and I needed 3 tickets so it helped.:crowded:
Plus from DIA SW flights leave much earlier in the morning
which I like because we can get to our resort at WDW
early afternoon and have the rest of the day
for playing. :wave2:
I don't like for my travel day to waste the whole day because
I want to be on vacation as soon as possible.:rockband:

Hi, I am WAITING :surfweb: also! I have a flight to MCO on June 27th (got a DING) for about $89. but I am waiting for a return flight July 8th. I am also HOPING for a SUMMER SALE! Joan

Since we'll be flying again within the window of cancellation/credit, i'm hanging on until the last minute to our pricey return flight - hoping it drops.

If not, I'll cancel & book who-ever has the best deal going & save the credit.:thumbsup2

Notice on our date week of July 4th, they've dropped the price of afternoon flight by $20; hopefully a good sign?

oh- I am waiting for them to open their next batch of dates. I need 9/16-9/23. AirTran has a nonstop flight right now from buffalo to mco for 190 roundtrip. I guess I might go with that although from last september's bad airtran experience I vowed never to fly with them again- but I love the idea of nonstop- woohoo!!!

I'm also waiting for SW to open up dates past 8/24. After years of waiting, I was pleased to learn Alaska Air was finally doing a nonstop from Portland, OR (PDX) to MCO...until I saw the flight times! Red-eye going to Orlando, and a 7am coming back -- no thank you! We've done a late night flight once and will never do it again. You arrive early morning at MCO dead tired but can't get into your room until late afternoon, so you end up feeling like zombies for about the first three days of the trip. All I can do is hope that Alaska has lots of empty seats on those flights and comes up with something a little more family-friendly. But until that happens...it's SW all the way, baby!

If you don't mind some advice, can I suggest you check JetBlue? You could get the dates you are looking for at $134 going down and $99 coming back. If you were to go one day later and stay one day later, you could get both ways for $99 each. That's a savings of $120 per person over Southwest right now.

Just a suggestion.

i know a lot of people who live in MA that would rather not fly out of Logan. i know i'm one of them. i'll actually pay a bit more to fly out of PVD because it's closer, much cheaper to park and just all around a more pleasant experience imo. :)

It's easier for me as well to fly from PVD. Not quite as exciting though for some reason. :confused3

Thanks for the suggestion! Our first choice airport is Providence. We really want to fly Southwest because we are only a couple credits away from 2 Rapid Rewards trips. We also can't really change our dates because we have a DVC SV 1BR villa reserved.

and bought expensive tickets out of MHT to MCO. Going the first week of July, and should have, could have waited for cheaper flights but one just never knows. If rates come down, I'll see what SW can do for me. Maybe I'll get a refund or maybe a credit. Its all ok.

waiting for both a sale and the date extension....going to 8/23 and returning 8/28. I have $270 SW credit I want to use up before it expires, so no checking other airlines. I love flying out of PVD anyway so SW is my first choice.

Someone I know is booked PHL to MCO for $50 each way ($100 r/t). Now THAT is a good fare!

I am waiting for flight out September 28th from Buffalo to MCO -
maybe someday we will meet. :cool1:

I'm waiting for August as well. Unfortunately, the DINGS for August didn't come down until July last year.
