Starbucks pours not-better-for-you chocolate drink

Starbucks, the coffee juggernaut that created an empire by convincing consumers that drinking specialty coffee is an experience worth $3 a cup, will announce today that it's about to try to do the same with steaming chocolate beverages.
No, not hot chocolate. That's so proletarian.

Starbucks is dubbing its new product Chantico (shan-TEE-ko), named for the Aztec goddess of the hearth.

Unlike hot chocolate, which is made from cocoa powder, Chantico is steamed with cocoa butter and whole milk. It's no diet drink: A 6-ounce cup has 390 calories, 21 grams of fat and 51 carbs.........
USA Today Starbucks article

This would be a good one to discuss on the WISH board, LOL. Does sound tasty, I like chocolate, but way too many carbs for me.

We do buy 2 pounds of unground beans every 2 weeks from there, and I have an occasional regular coffee, usually a small (I forget what their nomenclature is for small, I just ask for small). I have ordered a few times, (not for a long time though), the frapp drink. It was pretty tasty, but seemed a bit much. Anybody else get any of their 'foo-foo' drinks? How about the new Chantico coming soon, any takers on that???

i'd love to try it! i get all my drinks at starbucks made with skim milk, though. have to cut calories out of that somewhere! ;)

I'll have to give Chantico a try when the weather gets a little cooler!

I love a tall White Chocolate Mocha with whipped cream, but only have one every once in a while. It's a treat for myself. With all the calories and fat grams in those things, it has to be!

Coffee?? I'm far too young to drink coffee :). If I go to Starbucks, I get this thing made with ice, milk, vanilla, and whipped cream. Basically it's an icy vanilla shake, but I forget what their fancy name for it is. Yummy.
