Who's on the 6-17-06? ... i know im not the only 1 already countin down!!

No... I live in Gaithersburg Maryland... But my aunt just bought a beach house in Kill Devil Hills for our whole family to use.

I'm sure I'll miss parts of it... I loved playing this one game called Gotcha... It was a game where everyone had a secret identity and you got the name of someone else and you had to go find them on the ship and "kill" them, and you got a certain amount of points for the techniques you used, which slowly eliminated players from the game... It goes from 12pm - 12am ... I remember last year my friend Rob had to "kill" me and we got stuck in an elevator together and you cant kill people in the elevators... so to avoid having to get out and him killing me right away I rode the elevators with him for the last hour of the game!!!!!! :rotfl: That was fun... but other than that, last summer on the cruise I didn't really do much in the teen club... Mostly hung out with my friends around the ship and went to the movies. :)
And my sister and your son should defenitly cyber meet... if you want, he can send her an email at my email address and I will have her write back. :)

Good Morning Everyone!

Just got off the phone with my TA. Booked my flights (leaving the day before), limo (Cartier) from Hyatt at MCO to port, and DCL transfers from port to MCO. I'm so happy that everything is all set. :cheer2:

Judy

Hey Judy,

Was your TA able to bring up the flights already? I may go on the AA site and see if they've added them yet, I think they're not suppose to be out until next week. We'll see.

Lisa

I'm trying to convince my mom to fly down the day before... We always fly down the day of, and she always spends the whole morning freaking out that we'll miss the boat... Last year our plane got delayed an hour and she TOTALLY freaked out!!!!

Lisa--today was the first day I was able to book the flight. I just checked on continental's site and saw that I could book the return flight so I called my TA. I was able to book the flight down about a week ago and just kept watching till the return flight was available. I had her book both flights today. I already knew I would be flying continental since that is what we flew the first time and I wanted non-stop flights. She picked our seats for each flight also.

ann-e-mator--the first time we flew down the day of and we were so exhausted from getting up at 3:30 a.m. The second time we drove. I didn't mind the drive down, but I felt we would never get home on the way back. Plus we booked the cruise kind of last minute and the flights were very expensive!! This will be our first time going the day before.

Judy

Yeah... I am anemic, so I am ALWAYS tired!!! lol. Last summer our shuttle picked us all up at 4am... Which means we were up at about 3... Not having gone to bed until about 1:30... I was tired the first day. Maybe that's enough to convince mom. :)

I'll be thinking of how wonderful it will be when you don't have to reach for your glasses every morning. I can't wait to follow in your footsteps next week.

Lisa :goodvibes

So - relieving news - we are actually going down THREE days before the cruise and hanging out in the parks for those days - phew - no missing our plane!!! lol :rotfl2:

I've been thinking of you and getting nervous for mine this Wednesday. Hope all went well.

Lisa

Lisa,
Surgery on Thursday was sooooooo easy!!! I could kick myself for not doing it sooner. The hardest part was going home and trying to sleep. They want you to rest your eyes and that was so hard for me to do. I just wasn't tired. When I went for my post op visit on Friday, my vision was 20/45. The doctor said that was good for the day after surgery. I could tell that my left eye is sharper than my right and that gave me a headache on Friday. I go again for a check up on Thursday. The surgery itself is painless and quick. They put a suction cup one my eye and everything goes black so I didn't even know that he cut the flap.(that was my biggest fear) I didn't even take the sedative that they offered. I sat in the chair at 9:30 and was in the car with my husband at 10:00. Sorry it took me so long to write, I was trying to limit my time on the computer so I don't get another headache. Don't be nervous--it's great to see the clock in the morning!!!

Judy

Congrats on your surgery - glad it went well. :)
Nicki

I'm so glad you said what you did about the flap cutting. I am a little nervous about that part too, and you have helped alleviate my fears. I'm going to take the sedative (probably don't need it, but it won't hurt) just to make sure I'm relaxed. I've been bored at home with DH - he's recovering well from his nose surgery, so at least the excitement of my LASIK is keeping me from going out of my mind (figuratively LOL). I'll let you know how mine goes in a few days. Thanks for the update.

Lisa

Hey everybody! I just joined the message board, and im one of imomtojd's DS's (older, ill be 15 at the time of the cruise) , so I just thought that I'd see what everybody is talking about. Have any of you been on this cruise before? :confused3

Lisa,
Been thinking of you all day today. Hope yours went as well as mine. Let me know about it when your able to. It's funny, just yesterday I noticed my vision got a little sharper. I'm seeing pretty well now.
Judy

Hi treegod... I'll be just shy of 18 when we go on the cruise... Nice to meet ya :wave2:

:wave2: Judy,

It's the morning after and yes, I too can see the clock. After getting home yesterday, I slept a few hours and then went out to the living room. I sat on the sofa for a few minutes, then opened my eyes and I SAW THE TV PERFECTLY. This morning I'm actually a little more blurry - all over - but I can see pretty well. I'm wondering if my eyes dried out some during the night. I go to my follow-up at 10:30, so I'll find out more then. Overall, I'm very happy with the initial result. And yes, the surgery was a piece of cake.

That's great that your eyes are still changing and getting sharper. I think that both of us ended up with great results. I have a question - since you can't get water around your eyes for several days, how did you wash your hair? Any insight would be great. I'll post later and tell you what the doc said.

Lisa

Okay, I'm back now. Both eyes together are 20/20. She said they'd go in and out some, but probably settle at 20/20 in the end. I still need to be sharper though, probably the astigmatism. I'm very happy :cool1: :teeth: .

Lisa,
So glad to hear that yours went well also!!! This just amazes me.

Just back from my one week follow up and I'm 20/20 in each eye. I can stop my eye drops after today's doses. He said that it may still come and go. I try to use Refresh eye drops so my eyes don't dry out too much. (I also have dry eyes and am on Restasis) As for washing my hair, I just stood backwards under the shower with a washcloth over my eyes and washed my hair that way. I also have astigmatism. It is worse in one eye than the other, and that is the eye that took longer to see clearly.

Can't wait to go snorkling on our cruise and actually be able to see clearly! I was always afraid to wear my contacts in the ocean.

This is abolutely wonderful!!! I wish I did it sooner.

Judy
