Who's on the 6-17-06? ... i know im not the only 1 already countin down!!

ann-e-mator,
We did pass by Captain Tony's (my DS remembers it) It was on a side street off of Duval St.( if I remember correctly). We saw it on our way back from walking to the southernmost point. He said it was a yellow building with a fish on it. That's the only thing I remember about it because there were a bunch of boys trying to throw rocks into the fish when we passed by. DS saw something about it on the travel channel saying it was haunted. I do remember walking down Whitehead St. I tried looking at my maps but I can't find anything on them. I am really bad with directions, so I could be totally wrong on this. If anyone else in my family remembers, I'll let you know.
Judy

ann-e-mator--Just looked it up on the internet, it's on Green street. There are maps available to help you find it. It's not far at all.

Mike,
I'm guessing the distance to be a mile or so from the ship. Yes you can watch the sunset from the ship.
Judy

Thanks magicalfam :) Yeah, the story on it is that Captain Tony bought that piece of land, which was a cemetary. He wanted to build a bar but didn't want to disturb everything so he built it around the bar... The floor has grave stones in it, there a rock ledge that divides the pool room from the bar, and the lynching tree goes right through the bar. I'm really into haunted stuff... So that's a must go for me... Thanks. :)

BUMPIN IT :sunny:

YES, we're going on DCL for the first time on June 17. It's me, DH and DS's who will be 8 and fifteen at the time. WE CAN'T WAIT  :Pinkbounc :cheer2:

See ya there

Lisa

Hello and welcome aboard :wave2: . We look forward to meeting you there and that would be my DW, DS who will be 5 years old and our DD who will be 8 years old at the time of the cruise. My DD will be glad to know there will be someone else her age.

Lisa--Glad you"ll be joining us!

Iv'e been checking the airlines. Looks like I will be able to book our flights in a couple weeks. We will be flying in the night before and staying at the Hyatt at MCO. We are going to get a limo to the port the next morning. I think we'll take the disney bus from port to airport at the end of the cruise--this way we can check our luggage right at the port. This is the first time I'm booking our flights on my own. The frist cruise I booked everything through disney and it was more expensive. What's everyone else's plans?

Judy

:wave2: Hi Judy, nice to meet you. I see your kids' will be in the teen group with my oldest son.

We're planning to book our flight as soon as they go on-line in a few weeks. We have it marked on our calendar. We hope to arrive the day before and stay somewhere near the port that night. DH and I have been on several cruises but the kids' have not so we're really excited for them. I hope they love cruising as much as we do. We have talked about doing a Disney cruise for years - so it is exciting that we've finally taken the plunge.

Lisa

Hi everyone!

Just came back from my eye doctor and he put me on the schedule for LASIK eye surgery for August 4th.

I had to get my DD to help me with the countdown timer. I'm so bad with computers.

What's everyone been up to? It's been hot here--being lazy and swimming.

Judy

"Just came back from my eye doctor and he put me on the schedule for LASIK eye surgery for August 4th."

WOW - it's a small world after all :flower: My lasik is scheduled for August 10. I'm looking so forward to waking up the morning of the 11th and not having to feel around my nightstand for my glasses. I've been looking forward to this almost as much as our cruise :rotfl2:

It's been very hot here too - can't even imagine going to the pool right now. We're just lounging around the house getting lazy. The heat's suppose to break some towards the end of the week. I may try to get out more then.

Good luck with your eyes.

Lisa

Lisa,

Wow I can't believe you're doing it too!! I'll let you know how it goes. Are they doing both of your eyes? They are doing both of mine at the same time. I can't do anything that day but relax and sleep. They don't want me reading or watching television either. How am I supposed to check the disboards?

Aug. 10th is our 20th anniversary! I'll have to have an extra drink, or desert(that would be my first choice) at dinner for you.

I'll try to post again before I have surgery.

Judy

hey imomtojd, my sister will be 8 almost 9 at the time of the cruise too.

And I'll be 18!!! WEEEE!!!!!

Speaking of it being hot and being lazy and swimming (Judy:)) I just came back from a week in the outer banks... and of course the week we were down there, Kill Devil Hills had a really bad heat wave!!!! 105-110 the WHOLE week - except the last day - OF COURSE!!!! lol. Can't wait for that wonderful island weather... which will be almost the same lol :rotfl: But somehow 105 degrees just seems a lot better when your in the Caribbean :sunny:

 Hi Judy
Yes, they're doing both my eyes at the same time. I was told the same thing - no reading or watching TV (I guess that means the computer is off limits too) for the rest of the day. They said I should be fine the next day and will be able to drive myself to the follow-up appt. If you have a chance, do let me know how it went for you. An early happy anniversary to you and your husband. An extra drink or dessert would be lovely. Either sounds GREAT.

 Hi ann-e-mator
Where are you from? You said you were at the Outer Banks - do you live in NC or just traveled for vacation. We live in Raleigh. It's still VERY HOT - should go up to 104 today - then finally a cool down. So I have a question - are you gonna miss being able to do the teen groups on Disney? Let's try to get your little sis and my son to cyber meet before the cruise. They will be in the same group in the lab.

Have a cool day everyone. Lisa :mickeybar
