Does anyone know where the 5K path goes? I have looked on the Disney Marathon site, and the only maps they show are for the 1/2 marathon and full marathon.
The past two years the 5k route was through Animal Kingdom. They called it the "Circle of Life 5k". It was the same 5k route as the Expedition Everest Challenge if you can find that one.

Thanks for the information! I'll look up the Expedition Everest Challenge. :)

If you can't find that, there might be a map on Disneyrunning - and failing that, I could always make a pic of the route from my Garmin data - I wore it for the 5k in 2008, and I don't think they changed the course for 2009.

I'd love to do the Half Marathon- especially if we'll be raising money for GKTW! :lovestruc I'll be walking it though...Maroo, I'd love to join ya! :rotfl:

Woo Hoo!!!! :yay: :yay: :yay:

I will be strolling down the street! very fast! :woohoo: We will have to meet up at the FRONT of that last corral so we don't get swept! :scared1: All of us walkers! :)

If we were to have a DIS Unplugged/GKTW team, does anyone have any good ideas of what we should name it? I'm trying to come up with a team name...

"PodSquad"...

"For the love of cake"...

"Bawb's Nappers"...

Think, think, think...

I think it is fitting the name "Bawb's Nappers". If it wasn't for him we would not be doing this for GKTW. Oh and were all going to need a nap when we are done!:rotfl:

I'm already registered for the Goofy Challenge but I'd consider switching over to the group entry -- but it depends on what the charity fundraising requirements are.

I think it's a great cause and I'd like to support it.

I would love to be part of this but already have a fall marathon planed and can't do another trip this year. If you guys have a team for 2011 I could be in.

As far as team names go maybe something incorporating Bawb Kaht...Kaht Kids or Kaht crusaders or somthing like that. Or combining GKTW and Bawb..maybe Give kids Bawbs Kaht. :rotfl:

OK, I have to admit I threw out "Bawb's Nappers" as a joke. I didn't expect it to gain any traction. I agree with FireDancer. I'd like to find a team name that incorporates GKTW and the DIS Unplugged.

Think... think... think... pooh:

I can't be participate in the marathon, but will be with you in spirit. What about "Bawb's Kids"? or "For Bawb's Kids"?

How about combining "Give Kids the World" with the "Dis Unplugged" and calling us "The Kids Unplugged"

We can use (with permission of course) the GKTW logo, which is an awesome logo, and the signature of Walt Disney through the use of the Walt Disney font, to spell out "Kids Unplugged" and place it on shirts, pants, tank tops, hats, etc.

Hey everyone, make sure you listen to today's show. Kathy (safetymom) has an announcement about 10 min in.

Ah!!!! I can't listen. It won't download on my iPhone... But don't tell me!

Dave - I like the name. Kids Unplugged. To me it also signifies getting kids moving which I like.

Frank - I like the logo. Could you tweak it a little?

I was thinking we could add G, T, & W to signify GKTW, but have those letters smaller and lower so as to emphasize "Kids". Of course, we would use the "Waltograph" font for the letters.

I also wondered if we could include the "DIS Unplugged" USB logo next to the village? It would be great if the cable coming out of the USB could be the same color and run under the GKTW village. Here's a rough idea of what I'm thinking. This needs to be cleaned up a lot, but I wanted to include it so you get an idea.

Frank and Dave,
You are almost there. Keep up the great work. I can't wait to be part of the team in January.

Dave.
