Im sitting in my room at camelot inn waiting ( impatiently mind you lol) for tomorrow... Tomorrow is the day we not only go to disneyland for the first time but have somehow even still kept it a secret from our 3 boys... Eeekk. How are the waits.. what should we do first? Im just lost with all my options (we are going for 5 days with hoppers but the first day we want to stay in DL and do the classics as they would be a good starting point with my boys (oldest is 6 and the twins almost 4)

If you want to see wait times, download the app. The park is open right now and wait times are visible.

I have the app but i thought i read the wait times have been long lately

The app is a pretty useful tool. After going in to the park, maybe you want to go straight through the castle? You can visit Fantasyland, then branch out to the other lands. As a kid, growing up, we always did Disneyland clockwise, going down Main Street, then going to Adventureland, New Orleans Square, Frontierland, Fantasyland, Toontown (these days), and Tomorrowland. Since this is your first time, maybe hit attractions that are open first to get them used to them. The dark rides can be overwhelming to young children. So, try the Carrousel, Dumbo, Casey Jr. Circus Train, Teacups, Alice in Wonderland (that's a good first dark ride), and of course it's a small world (the second time on that look for the Disney characters). Do Snow White and Pinocchio after the other rides in Fantasyland. Walk through the castle for Sleeping Beauty diorama - everything will be an adventure to them.

Then try some of the other ones - Tiki Room, Jungle Cruise, Pirates, Haunted Mansion (might want to get a fastpass for that), later Buzz Lightyear, Star Tours, etc.

No they didnt even see the huge disneyland sign as we walked in either.. i swear my kids where oblivious lol

Yeah, you never know how the surprise is going to go over.

How is the Camelot? We are staying there for part of our trip.... Next week!!!

We had a similar experience with surprising DD (then 7). "We're going to Disneyland tomorrow!" "No we aren't." "Yes we are! Grandpa will be here to take us to the airport." She eyed grandpa like this was all a huge joke. I don't think she believed me until we were in the parks, lol.
Aw thanks for asking.. My kid (the oldest one ) was obvious to all the disneyland signs and everything and when we gold him we are at disneyland he didnt look excited or thrilled lol he just said really Thanks mom lol i was soo bummed but we had a great 1st day.. 4 more to go

The Camelot has been awesome.. We dont have much experience at hotels but its been great.. clean rooms, quiet we have a great view of the fireworks (4th floor by the pool)
We liked it too. This trip we opted for a week at HomeWood suites. With food hs cost the same. We're sacrificing the location.
