Who's Gonna Have More Fun? Two PTR's for the Price of One!

Jo, do you have a link to those pictures of the GF walls, or to a thread that talks about it?

Good Morning PTR Friends!!
Life in this house is beginning to get frenzied. Belle pulled out her MM ears and the Minnie Mouse ears this morning. The girls have begun making lists of all they need to take with them. They're counting their money and compiling lists of Hidden Mickeys, Pressed Penny locations and Hidden secrets in the Parks and such. Me, I'm still working on my Binder and getting things printed out that we need.

It's approaching so fast!!!!:cool1:

Oh that is great that it will be open throughout your stay! I hate change to, I said to DH maybe we should wait and go after the Fantasyland expansion one day, I think he grunted lol
I honestly do not do well with change either, I hated when they did away with discovery Island, we went here almost every trip it was never crowded and it was so peaceful, it was just sorta "our" place(when we went as a family)

I made our reservation for the airport hotel this am, and told DH but he has other things on his mind he goes Thursday for his eye surgery and he says he is not nervous but he is really.

Glad you won't have to move to another resort, you probally will not even notice the walls like you said since you are at SL with the marina view, except for when you and Shelly meet up at midnight on the path.

Have a great weekend Jo

Sheila, I hope that your DH's surgery goes well and they are able to fix him up good as new.:wizard: Something like that always is in the back of your mind when you are faced with it- even if you are trying to not think of it.
You both will be in my prayers.

Here's the link Sheila posted --

It seems to be what people are talking about---- Disney hasn't even announced that it is a new DVC yet--- totally absurd since they have all this "Phantom" construction going on.:rolleyes1

If I could be in WDW right now I think I'd be walking into the Stretching room of the Haunted Mansion!
I first rode HM when I was 2 years old and thought I was such a big girl b/c my cousin, who was 18 months older than me, ran out screaming as soon as we walked in. It was the one thing I always had over her.:rotfl2:

HM--- love it!:cool1:

Thank you for the kind words and prayers for DH. It is really all my fault without thinking some weeks back I was reading an account of a vet whose eye exploded during and op and mentioned it to DH :scared1: not to scare him I was just telling him what I had just read, like I said without thinking , which is nothing new for me :rotfl:

My younges use to get so excited like your girls in fact I still remember the last trip we took in 2009 and him saying to me a few weeks before we were going, "Mom are ya getting excited?" He was 29 at the time. Hopefully your girls will keep the love of the mouse forever.

I am trying to buckle down and get organized too I only have 73 days and am usually totally organizede at the 3 month mark. :scared1:
I booked our hotel for the night before yesterday and last night bought tees for DH and I for MNSSHP I talked him into at least wearing a disney t-shirt that night. Not an easy feat at all. I ordered him a Jack Skellington on his famous last words , "it is ok, it's a fun shirt" He is not a disney shirt person unless it is for a resort. I bought myself an Evil Queen shirt. I would dress up if it weren't for DH not wanting to. I have a cute devil costume and could modify a pair of ears with my horns hehehe

I do not get why they do not announce the new DVC but they did the same thing with BLT if I am rememebering correctly.

Great story about your cousin, I love it!

Shelly - who's watching Jack while you're gone?!? Do they know what they're in for? :lmao:

Your trips are all so close! Can't wait to read the trip reports!

My parents have agreed to watch him. I'm not sure they know what they're in for! :scared1: Although we took him there Saturday for about 3 hours and he was very good. No peeing in their house!!! :worship:

Thank you! Had a great time -decided at the last minute to take the boys along. They had a blast - you can read about what we all did on the Mayer thread. I found a $50 bill on the floor in the casino - I always find money at DL and WDW - my good fortune continues to follow me - LOL! We had great weather - it was near the high 90's but it wasn't horrible, because it is a dry heat (desert) no humidity. The nights were perfect. Overall, a perfect and fun time! :cool1:

That's great that the boys went with you!! :cool1: Lucky you always finding money!! :yay:

Dry heat sounds so nice! :goodvibes

If I could be in WDW right now I'd be down in the GF CL lounge getting some snacks before supper.
YUM!

:cloud9:

I am so excited about y'all trying VN...I have one night totally open with no ADR yet,...this could be the one!!! I am curious to read both of your reviews since you have such diff opinions about the Disney rest.'s....which is great for me because I will have pros and cons from both of y'all!!!

Yes, it will be interesting to see what Jo and I have to say about it when we get back!! :rotfl:

Do you do this every year? We have always just parked at the airport, but daaaang it's expensive! Last year(since we live quite a distance from the airport), we went the night before and stayed at the Sheraton, or whatever it was, right down from the there. It was $99 and they dropped us off and picked us up--which was great because our flight was at 7:30...we would have had to leave here by 4:scared1: And it was still cheaper than parking at the actual airport. We have a Parking Spot garage, and something else near there I was interested in checking on this time...just curious what y'all do and what your experiences have been.:cutie:

Yes, we park at an offsite lot every year. It's about 3-4 miles from the airport. We just make a reservation online, get there about 1 1/2 hours before our flight and they take our keys and park the car and they shuttle us in a van to our airline's terminal within about 5 minutes. After vacation we call them, they come get us in the van and take us back to the lot, and when we get there they have the car waiting -- either with the AC or heat on - whatever season we are in. It's great and cheaper than the airport!

PGH has the park & fly hotels too, but it always seems like it would be a hassle to unpack stuff for one night and all that when we are only an hour from the airport.

Hey everyone!

It's another hot day here- I was up at 6 am for my walk. I knew I wouldn't do it if I waited any longer. As it was- it was humid and muggy.
However---
the weather dude is promising a cool down for us this week- around Wednesday! It's cooling down to 92! :cool1: Almost a 20 degree difference in what we've been experiencing. :faint: Never thought I'd think 90 is cool. :rotfl2:I might have to break out the jacket.:rotfl:

Good grief. :scared1: We are supposed to drop to the upper 70's this week!! :cool1:

Shawna---:rolleyes1 I'm prediciting that either Shelly or I am going to love VN, while the other one of us hates it.:lmao: That's usually how it goes with us.:upsidedow

Me too. :lmao:

Who knows, though- maybe we'll both like it.:woohoo:

Yeah, right. :rolleyes::laughing:

Okay so I'm having issues....:sad2:

Just read that the GF spa and gym are going to be closing the week after we are there for 18-20 months for work with the GF DVC they are building. And that the walls on the walkway to the Poly from the GF are already going up. :guilty: Do you think that they would start early and close the gym before we leave? Mark is a huge fitness dude- and it might be a deal breaker if they close the gym while we are there. I am emailing IPO to see what they say. I'm sure it will be all "Oh you have nothing to worry about... blah blah blah".
However- if we get there and the gym's closed..... we will be moving to another resort. :faint: To where, IDK- but won't stay there with it closed.
ugh.
Another thing to consider is the noise coming from whatever it is they are doing behind those walls. If it's bad... yep... we'll be moving.
:headache:

I guess the only thing we can do is go ahead with the plans and once we check in, then see how it is and proceed from there.:confused3

Don't freak out, Shelly....................... :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I have been reading about all this too. Surely they won't be working at night and disturbing guests sleep. Right??? I know there's a big ugly wall there. It will be an ugly walk between the resorts. But I'm hoping that's the only inconvenience it causes us!

The GF IPO is awesome! I am so impressed with how quickly they always respond to my questions. After sending them an email I got a response in about an hour.

They assured me that the gym would remain open all during the construction and they are taking reservations to the Spa up to the 14th. So we are safe, it would seem.

Happy to say we won't be switching resorts.

At least as of now.:lmao:

That's great news!! :goodvibes

Good luck to your DH with his eye surgery. :wizard:

Congrats on making your airport hotel reservation!! :yay:

It is approaching fast!! The kids took their change to the bank the other day and we are all ready to go buy our WDW gift cards this week! :cool1:

How's the packing coming? :rolleyes1

Good morning! :goodvibes

How was everyone's weekend? Ours was hot and busy! :faint:

I just realized last night that we are in the teens!!! :cool1: 18 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's coming so fast!!

So here are some other things we have done besides pin trading:

The kids did the Epcot masks once and then decided they were too old for that so I made them these Epcot passports last year for our November trip and they worked out great!

I don't think we will be hunting down all the Kidcot stops this time since we've done it twice before. We might grab a few pressed pennies here and there if we spot one that looks cool and we don't think we already have!

Hi Everyone!:goodvibes
All caught up now! Things have been busy around here...I have been crazy planning for our November WDW trip, and we are going away to Cape Cod tonight until Friday, so I have been busy packing for that. I will have my iPad with me in Cape Cod, so hopefully I will be able to stay caught up!
Your trips are getting so close!
Shelly- I love your passports for Epcot! My girls never got into the passports, but I think DD9 will love doing that in November.
Jo- Hopefully the spa and health club construction at the GF will start after your trip!:goodvibes
Hope all is well with everyone!

Good Morning!!!

Happy 18 days Shelly!!!!!!!!!! I thought about that on my walk this morning!!!! I know I looked funny talking to myself counting it up from my trip to yours.:lmao:

Your Passports are so cute. I bet they took forever to make. I think it is going to be so hot that IDK how much of Epcot we are gonna be running around. It's all the concrete I think. There's just so much of it and to get anywhere is such a long trek.
But-- it will be fun and we'll be in WDW so we won't complain. Or will we????:rotfl:

My kids have never gotten the pressed penny book. I think they will probably want them this time. They all have their M&M tubes ready with their quarters and pennies.

Oh and packing???? Am I supposed to be packing right now? Don't I have like, 20 something days to go yet??:rotfl2:

As far as your parking offsite at the airport----- you are doing good by getting the shuttle where you are I think. It is always such a pain at the airport in PGH. It takes forever for the shuttle in the parking lot to get to you. You have to add on an extra 30 minutes just for that. What a pain. I always hated flying out of there for that reason alone. Esp in the cold. And coming back was always even worse b/c the trip was over and you were always standing by the curb waiting. :headache:

Good Morning Lauren! Hope your trip plans are coming together nicely for you guys!

If I could be in WDW right now I'd be sitting in the rocking chairs outside of the Hall of Presidents in the MK. Possibly with a funnel cake in my hands. I love to sit there and rest after a morning of running around.:goodvibes

Shelly..I can't believe you are only 18 days away!!!! How cool!:cool1: And of course Jack didn't pee at the Grandparents,..dogs are like kids and behave better for others than they do for their parents! :rotfl::rotfl:
Jo..what time are up walking? I have a great in-home walk program that is wonderful! I used to use it all the time, then quit-don't even know why...I guess I just got tired of doing anything..but I started back Sat because it's just tooo hot down here to do anything outside..it's DVDs by Leslie Sansone..check out her website and see what you think...I love her, started a few years ago and got her book too. Saw great results and never had to leave my house!! :cutie:
I am hearing that the New England states may get a cool down the next week or so...hopefully we will too before long. How long can this crazy heat last anyway?:faint:

I can just imagine this in my head. :rotfl:

I'm thinking the same thing -- that we probably won't spend a whole lot of time in World Showcase because of all the concrete and the heat. :faint: I'm glad we covered it so thoroughly last year!!

My kids have never gotten the pressed penny book. I think they will probably want them this time. They all have their M&M tubes ready with their quarters and pennies.

Yes, you have 24 DAYS left!! :upsidedow Please tell me you at least have the suitcases out???

Shelly -
OMG only 18 Days !!!!!
I had no idea you could get a book to keep the pressed pennies in, we have a few but have no idea where they are now LOL
I can not believe how many you have

Hi Jo -
You can complain but no one will be listening since you will have made them all sign a contract not to complain, does that make any sense to you :rotfl:

Shawna - I have 3 of LS's walking dvd's I need to start using them again to get in some sort of shape for WDW. I bought mine because of the harsh winters and too much snow/ice to walk outside.

I know, it's creeping up fast!! (But so is school :scared1:)

You are so right -- Jack thinks he is a kid, so of course he was better behaved at the grandparents! :rotfl:

I think we are supposed to cool down this week to the lower 80's and maybe even some upper 70's!

Yep - only 18 Days!! :cool1:

That is actually an old pressed penny book. I saw in November they now have a new book out!

Shelly--- don't kill me. Suitcases are still in the closet. (That closet in the media room where the boogey man lives... ) I saw them the other day and thought- huh, I guess I need to get those out at some point. That's about as far as I got with it.

:rotfl2:

My Disney box is filling up though! I have it in the kitchen and I keep tossing stuff in there. MC says we need a bigger box.:goodvibes

Shawna---- I've never heard of that Leslie person. I will have to check her out. I have been doing P90x- well, I did it for one three month rotation and it was awesome. Then the kids got out of school and I got out of my groove. As soon as they get back in I will start back up b/c I do love it. I try to walk as much as possible outside--- I love being out in the air. Today it wasn't so bad actually! I went at 7:15 b/c I woke up late, but I like to get out by 6:30-45 usually. Once the sun is up it is all over.:scared1:

Sheila---:rotfl2: I am totally setting myself up with making them sign the no whining pledge. It's going to be a situation of do as I do, not as I say.:rolleyes1
I love your tshirts btw! I am not taking any disney stuff to wear with me this trip! I guess with the dresses I won't need anything.

I have to go to Target. The kids keep yelling they want to go there so that's where we'll be for an hour or so.
*sigh.*
Well at least I can get my sniff on in the Bathroom.

:rotfl2:

:rotfl2:

I have my suitcase out, has been for months, as I pick up stuff I put it in, I bought a small bottle of listerine the other day that I have to toss in.

Last time I went to Target I told DH about the Disney smelling bathrooms there, I swear he thinks I am crazy with some of the things I bring up about Disney. I never use public bathrooms unless it is a real emergency but I may just have to go into one at Target and take a few sniffs :rotfl:

I came back in from being out with the dog a few minutes ago and checked the temp 81 , humidity 70% , dew point 70 compared it to Florida today and....90.9 (feels like 106) Humidity 67% , dew point 79

All this heat and humidity we been having has me worried about if it is hot in October, how did I ever survive when we went those 2x in August??? :scared1:

You and Shelly got me to worrying again talking about it being too hot to do Epcot :lmao:

Yes, I think World Showcase and DTD are going to be the worst. So much concrete, so few trees. :scared1:
