Who's Gonna Have More Fun? Two PTR's for the Price of One!

Okay so I lied. I'm still here. I am having a bad attitude and don't want to go out ----- so I'm not.:rotfl2:

Drew has a dentist appt tomorrow so I think we'll go to Target then. Belle has a Bday party to go to this afternoon, which is the main reason I was going to go. I think cash is just as good for the Bday girl.:rotfl2: It works. ::yes::

Sheila-- the bathrooms in Target are usually clean! I'm a self professed germaphobe- so I think even just to go get a sniff you'd be ok.
Also-- we've gone in October twice and once it was perfect weather- I wore capris and short sleeves the whole trip. The other we had a cold snap with rain and I wore long sleeves and jackets. You just never know with FL and October.:confused3

:scared1::scared1::scared1:

Feels like 106???

I am just sure I am going to melt!! :scared:

Yes, I think World Showcase and DTD are going to be the worst. So much concrete, so few trees. :scared1:

The high in Orlando today and all this week is in the low 90's. So it's not as bad as actually being over 100.:rotfl:

Our high here today is 104. Which means it will feel like 114. :faint:

I'm beginning to think it's not gonna be so bad in FL after all.:headache:

Um yeah, right.

Okay, so I'm putting aside the words heat and hurricanes and moving forward.....

Packing!! :cool1:

I am about 3/4 of the way done!! I would be completely done if it weren't for the fact that it is summer and we are needing these clothes! I have all the boys shirts packed and DH's too. But none of them have enough shorts for me to pack them quite yet. I have all the "extras" packed too -- the air mattress, the sleeping bag, snacks, rain ponchos, jewelry, etc.

Summer-Fall2011021-1.jpg

Somebody still thinks he is coming.

Summer-Fall2011020-3.jpg

Summer-Fall2011023-2.jpg

Or at least eating the luggage.:laughing:

Summer-Fall2011022-3.jpg

Got our 'park bags' all ready...

Mine ~

I got this at Target back before our 2007 trip and I just love it!

Summer-Fall2011027.jpg

DS9's ~

Summer-Fall2011030.jpg

DS12's ~

Summer-Fall2011029-1.jpg

And DH. Where to begin with him...:rolleyes1 He has a fanny pack, which he has always hated. But he wore it back on our May trips. If it were up to him he would go to the parks carrying nothing.

Summer-Fall2011028.jpg

When we were planning our January trip we decided that we might need a backpack for jackets, hats, gloves, etc. So we got him one of those sling backpacks. He used it a lot on our January trip and also on our November trip last year. It worked out pretty good, but he found that by carrying it he usually gets stuck with everybody putting all their 'stuff' in it!

Summer-Fall2011024-2.jpg

So knowing that we sure won't need to be carrying jackets and things with us to the parks this year and that he HATES that fanny pack we picked this up for him at Target yesterday.

Summer-Fall2011025-1.jpg

Summer-Fall2011026-2.jpg

It is very light and we can throw some rain ponchos in it and maybe a few other items and be good to go! :thumbsup2 Hopefully he will like it.

I think we will still take the backpack with us. I am planning for DS12 to carry it on the airplane. He will have his carry-on suitcase, but you are also allowed one personal item. So I figure he can take that and put their Nintendo DS's in it and other junk to keep them entertained on the plane.

And you know since I have photobucket open I have to share some pics of Jack!!

Here is his new favorite squeaky toy!

Summer-Fall2011018-2.jpg

Summer-Fall2011017-3.jpg

I found it in the bathroom vanity. It used to be one of the kids bathtub toys!!

And here he is playing in the sprinkler with DS! He looks so funny when he is wet!

Good morning Target Bathroom Sniffers! :rotfl2:

Shelly - Congrats on 18 days! :cool1:

Jo - Why aren't you packing yet?

My friends moved to Orlando last week - they live about 20 minutes from WDW now. They went to Epcot & MK this weekend and said it was busy, very hot and very humid.

We had a beautiful weekend in SoCal - 83 with a nice breeze. No humidity!

Made our hotel reservations for the D23 Expo starting on the 19th. Can't wait to see all the neat stuff at the convention! The new issue of the magazine is dedicated to the 40th anniversary of WDW - it is a beautiful publication with many interesting articles!

Yep that is what it said on the web site:scared1

Love the pics of Jack , he is just too cute for words. Jack figures if he can not go to Disney, no one can , his plan to distroy the luggage :lmao:

I can do "perfect" weather :)

I was suppose to go for blood work today but I decided to hold off and see what the weather is like tomorrow or Wed, good thing you do not need an appt for the lab

Like you said your going to FL to cool off :rotfl:

Shelly--- Hurricanes!!! bah!:rotfl2:
You are so together and organized with your packing! You're my hero.:goodvibes When I grow up I want to be just like you.

:rotfl2:

Better watch out that Jack doesn't tinkle in your suitcase------ that would be bad. (Remember the time Beau peed on Mark's stuff????:lmao:) Jack has gotten so dang big! I can't believe it! So cute.

Your DH will probably like that new bag a lot. MC and Drew both have taken those types into the parks before and loved them.

Mark always wears cargo shorts so he has lots of pockets but we have been known to use the lockers before. With the kids being older I just don't take as much as I used to into the parks. Sunscreen, license, chapstick, KTTW---- camera, phone. That's about it. Not too much I guess.

Good morning Target Bathroom Sniffers! :rotfl2:

Well we no longer have those cool sleeves to sniff that we used to get high off of. We have to do something to get our kicks.....

Shelly - Congrats on 18 days! :cool1:

Jo - Why aren't you packing yet?

Because I'm lazy?????????:confused3 And you're one to talk. I've known you to pack the morning of your flight, Mister Procrastinator....:lmao:

You can be like me now -- just stop procrastinating!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 You can do it. Get those suitcases out. Today. Come over to the organized super planner side. You can do it. ::yes::

That would be bad!! Yep -- I remember that. Poor Beau didn't want you guys to leave! :rotfl:

Yes, Jack is growing so fast. He has doubled in size over the last month!

Your DH will probably like that new bag a lot. MC and Drew both have taken those types into the parks before and loved them.

The kids wanted those types of bags too but they agreed with me in the end when I told them that they are better off having their bags attached to them or else they will lose them! :rotfl:

Shelly - Very cute pictures of Jack! He looks like he is having a lot of fun with the boys and the water. I have been taking a backpack to the parks for over two years now and it is best way to carry your stuff. I highly recommend Quick Silver's line. They have really comfortable shoulder straps.

Jo - Yes, I will sometimes pack at the last minute...but not always. Give me some slack. ;)

For the D23 Expo we are staying at the Jolly Roger Hotel in Anaheim, which is right next door to the convention center so we can just walk there! A friend stayed their recently and they said they just remodeled their rooms and they were very happy with the room. http://www.jollyrogerhotel.com/ It is also across the street from DL, but you have to walk one block down Harbor Blvd. to the entrance of the parks.

Sea :cool1:

PS - I posted a few pics of our Vegas trip on the Mayer thread.

OMG, Jack is so cute in those pictures!

Shelly, you are almost as packed as me, except I leave in 2 days, not 18 days! :rotfl2:

You are so right -- Jack thinks he is a kid, so of course he was better behaved at the grandparents! :rotfl:

Isn't that the way it always is? :lmao:

Yep - only 18 Days!! :cool1:

That is actually an old pressed penny book. I saw in November they now have a new book out!

DS loves doing pressed pennies! Doesn't have to be WDW either.

I have to go to Target. The kids keep yelling they want to go there so that's where we'll be for an hour or so.
*sigh.*
Well at least I can get my sniff on in the Bathroom.

:rotfl2:

:rotfl:

Thank you for this! I'm not having the best day ever (nothing earth-shattering) so this was just the laugh I needed!

I was in Target just a little while ago. Every time I go to Target, I think about you when I'm leaving and passing the bathrooms. I've never been in a Target bathroom in my life (I feel about public bathrooms they way you feel about buffets. ;) I avoid them if possible.) But I've wanted go in ever since you talked about the smell. The reason I haven't is because I think about it after checking out, and I've got a shopping cart to worry about. So every time I think, "Next time I'll smell the bathroom." How weird does that sound? And then the same thing happens the next time I'm there.

You'd better listen to the voice of reason (aka Momof2Disneyboys) and start packing, guurrlll. You say you want to be just like Shelly when you grow up. I think I'm past that point, so I just want to be like Shelly in my next life. I'm about to go in a few minutes to my GF's house to work on photo albums. By working on, I mean starting. That's how behind I am in my pictures. :sad2: I have some pictures in books, but I am starting over completely and making individual books for my DD and DS. I hope to have them finished by Christmas......hopefully Christmas of 2011.

As far as hurricanes, if anything forms in the tropics we all need to go outside and blow really hard towards the east to steer those unwelcome visitors out into the Atlantic. We don't need any hurricanes (or himmicanes) here or in Florida!

Shelly, instead of being the last to congratulate you on 18 days, let me be the first to say

YAY FOR 17 DAYS!!!!! :dance3: :cool1:

I'm really on the ball, aren't I?

You kill me with your organization and preparation skills! :faint: I totally get the concept but just never seem to pull it off. I love those little sling bags that you got for your DH. I carried one of those on our last WDW trip, and on several other non-Disney trips as well. They're so lightweight but still hold a lot of stuff. Of course, that is if you don't have jackets and stuff to carry, which something tells me you won't need this time. ;)

Jack is getting so big, and is such a cutie! He really looks like a boys' dog, and not a prissy dog. (no offense to any prissy dog owners, my sister being one herself ) He looks like he is having a ball playing outside in the water and running with your boys. I hope is is well-behaved for the grands!

Does anyone else scrapbook???

Look what I picked up to go in my Poly & CBR pages!! :goodvibes

Winter-Spring2011009-1.jpg

I usually get a plain photo album before the trip and cover it in some sort of Disney fabric and then make the kids each a little one to match!

Here are my past ones:

2005 ~

Fall2009001-6.jpg

2007 ~

Fall2009006-3.jpg

2008 ~

Fall2009004-5.jpg

In 2009 I cheated and bought mine at the Hallmark store! But I did make the boys ~

Fall2009008-3.jpg

I still haven't gotten my album covered from last year.

I haven't done this years yet either, but I did do the kids ~

Summer-Fall2011004-3.jpg

I scrapbook too!!! Your albums are cute!
I always buy the Disney kits, the cruise line has great ones that include the year! But alas, I am so woefully behind in my books that it's a few years later when I usually get to them! I do a set of book for each girl and include everything they do, plus a few vacation pages. Then I try to do vacation albums.
My kids are about 3 or 4 years behind.
I've done a couple of our Disney trips (just cause I couldn't wait!). I'm supposedly working on my 2008 trip where we did one day at MK and then a Carnival cruise. I did the MK part already (surprise!) and started the first day of the cruise. I'm getting there...

LOVE the stickers - they will go so great with Poly pictures!

Shelly I love the stickers and your album covers! You did great on those! Are they photo albums or scrapbooks? You said they were plain photo albums but I can't imagine how you use stickers in those? Please explain b/c I'm confused. :confused3

I love to scrapbook but I have gotten so far behind that I will never catch up. My problem is that I want to scrapbook everything.... and that is an enormous amount of pictures. I think maybe I should just try to do a vacation album and not worry about doing them all. The last scrapbook I made was DD's baby book! And I mean I filled up an entire book of just my pregnancy and her birth! She is now 7... :rolleyes1 I just can't seem to get a system going. I am too type A!!! I get on my own nerves! What I need to do is put most of my photos is albums and just write notes as to the date and event and then just scrapbook the really special stuff like vacations or the highlights of each year. I just cannot bring myself to do it that way though! :headache: It bothers me that ALL my pictures won't be in the scrapbook and that it won't all be in one place, in chronological order. I know, I have issues! Please tell me what your system is and how you do your pictures???? :flower3:

I will tell you though that I did break down and order the pictures from our first WDW trip from Kodak in the form of a photobook and I love it! It is professionally bound and you can add captions and have patterned backgrounds. It looks so good! I would love to do all my pictures that way, but it gets expensive..... and I take too many pictures. I did our '08 trip when they were having a B1G1 free sale so it wasn't too bad. It still took 5 book to hold all the pictures! :sad2: Have you ever tried those? Other sites have them too like Snapfish, etc.
