I haven't been in 10 years (literally), but I decided to go this year. Heck, I even thought I'd get all into in and dye my hair blonde too!:p I have gone 4 times now and I'm a little burnt on the backside but the tan is coming along nicely. Anyone else take part in this?

No Way! I am only 26 and already have irregular moles and brown spots on my body. Not worth it to me. :)

Nope, I am only 28 and have irregular moles. Too scary to risk my life for a tan. Granted, I am fair and have freckles so I'm at higher risk to begin with. I look SO much better with sun though so I'm looking for sunless tanning alternatives that don't make me look fake.

I am leaving for a cruise on Saturday and I always pre tan. I start out at 3 monutes and work my way up. I NEVER burn, not in the bed and not in the sun. I also have psoriasis so the tanning bed acclerates remission for me.

I'm in! I been going for the past 6 weeks to get a little tan:cool:

And this Friday I'm getting my hair highlighted;)

I will start in a few weeks. I too have not been since before my wedding. But I do remember that it was the most relaxing thing to do. For some reason, my mind was completely devoid of any and all thoughts. It was nice.

I would definitely never go to a tanning bed. I even try to remember to put on sunscreen most of the time that I'm in the sun. I have bad skin and have been told that I'm at risk for skin cancer, and I also get freckles easily. So I don't wanna risk getting cancer by going to a tanning bed.

had advanced melanoma and just finished her treatments.......she also believed because she is a red head that going to the booths was better for her.........to get a little tan vs a burn.....but it isn't so......it is dangerous and she is a walking testimonial.......she is a 25 year old teacher ....

you know how every year the magazines always do an article on tanorexia?

i could be the poster child in the summer time.

I love to start tanning around May or june...last year I tanned too much...4 months last year! 3 of them right before my wedding!

I loved the relaxation that came with tanning...seriously just napping there for 20 minutes after work...so nice.

I dunno if I'll go this year though...I'm not IN any weddings, not going anywhere exotic...

Nope, enough cancer in this hosehold now. I have an associate at my office who is in his final steps before death from metastic melanoma, he attributes to sun damage in his younger days. Vanity is sadly a powerful force though.

We in the Medical professions call them "Cancer Centers" and not in a good way.......
Please read up on some scary statistics that are out on these!

Tanning beds are even more dangerous than the sun. No thanks.

I used them lots when I was younger and recently had a few sessions as I developed a mild outbreak of Psoriasis on my shoulders. I would be too scared to use them frequently now. I went to the GP last week to get a dark mole checked. She said it was fine but the worry made me realise tht the risk is not worth it.

NO WAY!!! I won't get near a "cancer booth". I like my lilly white, "casper" skin.;)

Never have, never will. My younger sister has been doing it for years. No wonder everyone thinks she's older....LOL! I have another cousin who's been doing it longer. She looks like a baseball glove. I guess she overdoes it, but still.

I watched my big brother die of metastatic melanoma last summer. He was diagnosed in November and dead by July! Please protect yourself from burning!
