Who's going to AKL in Dec?

Just over two months and we will be in AKL aw: for our first Christmas visit. Who else will be there? Do they have any special Christmas activities for the kids?

I just changed the ressies from POFQ to AKL at BRP rate. Stepmom doesn't know....she will be surprised (out of my bank account). I was shocked I got her to agree to pay half of POFQ, so AKL is a splurge completely on my own.

ANyway, we have never been there. Not even to just walk around! I have water/pool view room booked. I am not too ashamed to admit that I am silently praying for savannah view upgrade!

We are arriving 12/21, and leaving 12/24. I feel super guilty about NOT taking my kids, especially the youngest (now 3) who LOVES LOVES LOVES "The Did-nee Weeld."

All of you that are going to AKL, I envy you! I was there in April 2005 and for the two days I was there I was impressed. It is a beautifull resort, truly unique and I never seen anything like it. When I booked a stay there for two nights I only did it because my kids wanted to see the animals and I gave in. I love the Polynesian and wished I was spending the extra two days there instead, until I walked in the lobby of AKL! I was blown away by the detail of the place and I was very happy with my pool view room. I don't think I would spend the extra money on the Savannah view because you can walk around the resort and see plenty of animals, IMO. The fire pit with the rocking chairs around it is not to be missed at night and what a way to relax and unwind.

The pool was great and so was the food and right now I'm wishing I was there because typing this is bringing back some wonderfull memories. Enjoy your stay at the AKL and I have a feeling that you will love the place as much as I did. If they were to put the monorail line to the AKL it would be the perfect resort but the cost factor will prevent that from happening. Sorry if I rambled on and have a good trip and be sure to take many photos so you show us all!

I have 2 standard rooms reserved for Dec. 1-5 and having been trying to add another day and so far nothing available. I even tried paying for an upgrade, but still not available at a discounted rate.

We'll be there too -- for the second December in a row! We stayed there last year and fell in love with it. It is beautiful and serene and fun!

They do have Christmas activities for the children -- ask the front desk. They also posted all the available activities (both for children and adults) last year on a bulletin board type thing close to the entrances of Boma and Jiko on the ground floor.

I know you'll have a wonderful stay!

Good Morning ALL,
We will be staying in concierge 12/2-12/11. It will be our DD's 1st "official" trip. She will be 21 months old. We went when my wife was 6.5 months pregnant.
My in-laws will be also staying same as us, but the 7th-10th. Looking forward to seeing everyone and WISHING everyone a MAGICAL trip.

This is our (DH,ME,DS9,DS7,DS4) first time staying at AKL - we will be there December 8 - 14 Deluxe Savannah View . Everyone will be surprised because they don't know where we are staying - and the two younger boys don't even know we are going . We are going to have a magical time!

I'll be there Dec 8-10 Savannah view. Transferring to Sheraton Vistana Resort on the 10th-17th. I'm sure it will hard to make the switch.

My DH, DD and I will returning to the AKL Dec. 17-24. We will be staying in a deluxe, savannah room. The Lodge is so beautifully decorated this time of the year. We can hardly wait.

We'll be there, too. Second time at AKL...first time in a suite!!! The suite and sunrise safari are surprises for my four kids! This is the first time all six of us have been to the world together since 1994 (college, military, and jobs have kept us apart for some of our trips)!!!! I can't stand the wait! Sometimes I think I will burst!

We will be there Dec 3-6, after moving from BWI 11/29 - 12/3. We visited AKL on Christmas Day 2002 and liked what we saw. Our two days are non park days, so can't wait to soak up everything there.

We were scheduled to stay at AKL during the end of Nov/beginning of Dec but my DH decided he wanted to stay at the BC this year. AKL is my fav and I will miss sitting on the balcony with a cup of coffee or glass of wine and watching the animals. Hope everyone who will be there in Dec has a great trip.

DH , DD (almost 5) and I will be there Nov 28th till Dec 2, for our 9th wedding anniversary . This is our first time there. Cannot wait!!
